Intro:
The boat began to roll from side to side and the temperature dipped all of a sudden. Dark clouds obscured the moon. They churned grimly in the night sky, as black as a witch’s Sabbath. The moon’s mercury flush was painted silver by the thunderheads, casting down shivers of light with a ghostly glow. Underneath the moon, the rain moved towards them like a wraith’s veil of sorrow. A winnowing wind fermented and sighed, rippling the surface of the corpse calm sea.
their boat heaved and tossed in the rising swell and the some of the crew gripped themselves tighly to something as to not get thrown overboard. You could just make out the figure of your friend standing a meter away, lamps where raised aloft to guide them through the gale. The cloaked sky blotted out the light of the moon. The white shores of the mainland where in full view. Thunder boomed out, fork lightning ripped through the lowering vault of the sky. The Beasts aboard the mighty ship drew their claws from their fleshy scabbards and howled defiantly at the storm and braced for the crash. Most of them where anxious and worried. The steel frame of the ship resisted the wind, singing and humming against the powerful gusts of air. They ruled the seas . They where dreaded across the mainland, only stopping to pillage and enslave. They where kings of the waves , warlords amongst cats. No beast alive was a fiercer fighter than this crew of animals . They had begun their ascent from the north in a small embarkation made of wood and had fought their way up to be the biggest, the most savage, the most meanest , the most ruthless of all sea farers . The crew was comprised of cats, caracals, dogs, hyenas, and panthers. Most of them wore eye patches , rings, bracelets medals and buckles and decorations made out of bones that jangled and clinked in the wind. Turquoise, silver , ivory, metal ornate their teeth and jewels. They stood laughing and taunting each other amongst the teeth of the gale , satisfied that they where going towards the land
The rain-shroud passed by, spitting at them with its Undead tears. It wrung their fur into a mop and soaked their scarfs through. The rain whipped down like crystal nails and streaky lightning emblazoned the sky. The sea swells rose and the north wind blew and sped them to his doom. Lacerating rain stung their bare skin like ice burn and the sea throbbed grey with woe.
The big boat boat bobbed like a cork upon the capacious sea and for the first time ever, the captain felt his own mortality. The brine hissed and sissed, lashing the face of the crew beasts, you could see the fever in their eyes. Their boat keeled and tilted like the death flop of a mackerel. The timber planks buckled and bulged, then screaked and shuddered, but the boat righted herself once more.
The captain's spectral face was fixed in the sky where the moon should be. It wore a mask of hatred and longing and it transfixed everybody utterly. He looked at it aghast, like a mooncalf would stare at the night sky. The big felines eyes seemed to glare at the sea on his starboard side. The crew gazed down into a whirlpool opening and spinning beneath the boat.
the captain’s words came back unbidden; “A true mariner never deserts a sinking ship.” He gripped on tighter. A mountainous wave rose up before him, blotting out the sky. The wind howled out their doom, the whirlpool span faster and whither.
The boat rose with the swell, inclining upwards to its destruction. It was propelled up onto the lip and hovered there, a fly-speck on the cobwebbed lines of the wave. Time seemed suspended. The whirlpool gaped under them with dire-white jaws. It roiled and spun, inviting the crew of the big metal boat in. Then the boat plummeted down into its milky depths, swallowed whole in a final, terrible, squeak of metal. For a few fleeting seconds, the boat seemed to have disappeared in the giant whirlpool. But with a monstrous heaving, the boat resurfaced, bellowing and steaming sea water. Water gushed from the deck as if the ship was the legendary Flying Dutchman. The crew a board was soaked but they cheered and jeered in relief. Thunder crashed overhead as the skied released a deluge of whipping and lashing rain. The steel frame of the boat sped along, sheering the waters in a foamy white trail. The ship was going to fast for it's own good: the momentum of the whirlpool and of the gargantuan wave had made the metal giant as fast as the wind. As the white sandy shores loomed dangerously in front, the captain screamed: "Every cabin boy and girl body down below deck!!! I want to see no one but Crew beasts up here!"As the others evacuated, the lightning crackled around the boat , illuminating the barbaric figures on board, as if the high heavens where challenging them. Silence made itself bit by bit. After the whirlpool this seemed too easy.
The boat suddenly entered the shallows. Loud scrapings where heard as if a gigantic sea monster was ripping at the boat's bottom. The front of the boat sheered the waters and the metal giant started to slow down a bit. But the speed of the craft was still dizzying. A loud metal "ClUNK!" made itself heard.
The bottom had definitively hit the bottom now. This was a game for the crew, and they knew they would win. The front of the steel ship hit the shallows. A defining CRASH fused from the end of the boat, the armature creaked in protest.Water flew in the air like geyser. The bottom scrapped the shore and finally, the front berried itself in the sand, stopping with a tremendous CRAAAAAASSHHH! ! The steel beast stopped abruptly it's advance sending gigantic sprays of saltwater high in the air. Many on board where thrown on the ground by the shockwave sending them sprawling like a bunch of bowling pins. Only a few of them, including the captain where still standing on their paws… A few had died because they had ended crashing into something. small puddles of blood flecked the deck and where washed slowly away. The captain cried out: "We did it mattes , we landed her! All the cabin boys must be sent to land, pile the corpses and throw the to the sea." The captain turned to the second in command: "Do the inventory of our stocks, send the cabin boys and girls to land, Treat the wounded, and see that they throw the corpses in the sea." The second in command nodded and rushed to do the biding. He listened as he hear the thud of the corpses hitting the tumultuous water bellow .Small figures where washed away to be lost in the sea and finally sink to the abysses.
