He did not like sleeping with many cats. After all, in BloodClan he'd had his own den and had gotten used to the solitary life while still being apart of a clan. The lithe, long-legged calico marched with his head held high through the territory, silently cursing the animal who'd accepted him. Behave. Like I'd cause trouble. He snorted. Patchedpaw blinked his warm eyes, they were intriguing in a sense. His mother's hazel-yellow eyes. They disgusted him. As did his calico pelt. Patchedpaw's ears pinned flat against his head as he neared a swampy, somewhat boggy clearing that was hidden by some bristling nettle bushes. Curiosity inflamed inside of the young tom and he looked for a way to enter this unknown territory. That was when he spied a small, feline sized hole beneath the worst of the nettles, just big enough for an animal larger then him to slip in. The calico lowered himself to his belly, not minding the cool water that seeped into his thick fur and wriggled beneath the poking branches until he'd entered the clearing. It was cozy, and protected with tall, leafy trees that created a canopy overhead to protect from falling rains and the like. A rounded rock, half above ground acted as a prop for several thick trees that'd somehow been uprooted and left there. Briefly, the calico scented the air for any sign of twolegs but the scents were long gone. Patchedpaw slowly walked towards the trees and waved his tail nervously, his legs stiff with a fleeing response. As he neared however, his curiosity won over and the lithe tom peered into the darkness caused by the den-like structure. A shaft of light glistened over a small pool of crystalline water that pooled somewhat beneath the tree. There was quite an expansive gap where the tree was propped, and behind it was another denlike area that'd been formed in a hollowed out tree. The whole thing was as though it'd been waiting just for him. Patchedpaw slithered into the den and found he could stand upright in it, as well as stretch out. The alcove inside of the tree was more roomy then he'd expected and he deemed it a good place to put a nest. The nest would happily fit a whole family -- should he one day decide to have kittens with some female. He doubted it'd be a clancat, but maybe a kittypet or loner would serve. The calico flicked his ears and padded from the den and into the openess of his new clan's territory once more. He'd need bedding supplies surely. Could not sleep on that ground without it. He debated making a rocky bedding, one ringed with rocks to keep out the irritating moisture. Patchedpaw would then collect some moss and sticks to weave a nest inside of the rocks. Being in BloodClan he'd picked up the art of skinning pelts, and he'd surely do so. He might send word to Acantha and send the pelts to her to be sewn while he was at it. Yes. Patchedpaw thought, things are finally going my way. He was making a fresh start.[/fancypost] |
