She shivered and looked down rather ashamed, "I'm just scared, scared of the future, scared of the past. And I'm alone, that makes it worse, I have to walk done the empty lane every single day of my life!" She bellowed, half upset, but half grateful to let it out. Though she didn't know this stranger what so ever, his presence was rather comforting.

"What's there to be scared of? Just because you don't know what will happen just makes it all the more exciting," he said, his mane, blown in the wind.
-
Missouri's eyes shone as he spoke in wise words. She blinked at him and sighed, facing the fact. Maybe she did misjudge life. They dapple grey mare looked at him with a gentle nod, "I'm Missouri." She nickered, bowing her head.
-
"I'm Cricket," he nickered, also bowing.
-
Missouri's ears flicked, "So where you from? You don't seem to be one of those stallions who steal mares." She asked and noted, relishing Cricket seemed to have no interest in the mares in the herds.
-
"Nowhere really. I roam around on my own and eventually run into a herd," he said.
-
"Same." She smiled feintly, her black mane flying gently about in the wind.
-
"You seem like one of those tame mares who get trained. You're not are you?" he asked, his ears flicking.
-
She gently shook her head, "No, But human kind do intrigue me." She noted, thinking of their weird ways and rituals.
-
"They tried to tame me, but I wouldn't break," he nickered, flicking his tail.
-
Missouri grew interested now, "Really? How'd you get caught?" She asked curiously.
-
"I was trying to protect my family and one of them threw a rope around me and caught me," he said.
-
Missouri whined sadly, "That's awful, is your family ok?" She asked, he was a lot like her. But Missouri lost her entire family to wolves. She's been alone ever since.
-
"I don't know. That's why I look around when I find herds," he whinnied.
