  • Nightkit padded along the shore line of the river in amazement. He had never seen it so close before. His mother had once taken him and his siblings out of the camp one sunny day, but she would not allow them to get this close. He felt a wave of pride and victory rush over him at the thought of getting out of the camp undetected with Willowkit and Ivykit. He paused a moment and scented the air and was awestruck by all the new smells. His ears also twitched excitedly at the sound of the rushing water and sounds of birds chirping and wind blowing among the reeds and other foliage. This was definitely better than playing in the nursery. Here they had a whole world to explore with so many new things to look at, smell, and touch. "This is so cool!" He meowed excitedly to the other two kits with him. "Where should we begin?"

  • Willowkit walked over to the edge of the water. She meowed in excitement and couldn't sit still. One of her paws padded the water, splashing it around a bit. "Wow, this is so cool!" She looked up at Nightkit. "Should we hunt?"

  • Lilykit had also been poking around and exploring out of the queens view. She did this often, but nobody really noticed. She paused and whipped around at the sound of twigs snapping behind her. Had someone followed her in?

  • "Let's!" Nightkit exclaimed excitedly swiping a paw into the cool shallows of the river. He somewhat knew how to swim from learning in the deeper puddles that sometimes formed around the camp after it rained. He had never actually swam in the river and knew he needed to be cautious. "If you don't know how to swim," he stated casually as if he were calm, "then don't fall in." He could see various fish swim in and out of view. He loved the feel of the water on his paw. How did you catch a fish? He wondered to himself.

  • Lilykit saw the kits that were about the same age as her struggling to fish. She creeped up right behind them. All of them flinched when she said. "I'll show you how."

  • OOC:

IC: Ivykit was hunched over the river. She soon spotted a fish almost as big as her. She snagged two of her claws on the fish. Realizing it was too big she tried to pull her paws back. It was to late and the sound of another cat behind her scared.her and she fell head first into the river.

  • Lilykit hadn't realized she scared the kit so badly. Lilykit ignored the kits wails and gasps and dived into the river. She used to be the youngest in the nursery. She was proud to save a kit who was younger then her. She swam down and grabbed Ivykit by the scruff of her fur and pulled with all her might.

  • OOC:

IC: Ivykit gasped the air as her head came out of the water. "Ok first let yourself float..." She stopped struggling and started to float. "Then pretend you're running." Soon Ivykit was paddling towards the bank.

  • Lilykit paddled onto shore. She looked at the younger kits with pride. She had just saved a kits life. "So you guys thought youd take a little adventure hm? Well, count me in."

  • OOC:

IC: "th-thank you Lillyk-kit." Ivykit shivered. Even though it was still greenleaf the river was starting to get colder.

  • Here. Let me help. Grap one of these oak leaves off the ground and cover yourself with it. " lilykit said. She liked having someone look up to her. Just wait till she becomes an apprentice

  • OOC:

IC: Ivykit did as she was told. "Its like a blanket." She commented "we should use these in the nursery."

  • "Well I gave that idea to the leader and the lifeguard,so, we'll see." She replied. Then she looked at the kit beside her. "Help me lick her fur backwards to warm her."
