Character Name: Shadowflame
Character Age: 17 moons
Gender: Male
Alliance: Shadowclan
Rank: Warrior
Appearance (6 or more sentences): Shadowflame is a light grey (with darker flecks) tom with light green eyes. He has very small hints of white fur around his eyes and muzzle. He is a little bigger than the average tom and very powerful particularly through his shoulders. His tail is also slightly longer than most average cats but it doesn't hinder him all that much except for when some cats tend to step on it when he lets it touch the ground. Shadowflame has many scars but three that tend to stick out more so then other others. One comes down at the top corner of his right eye stopping a little ways below from when he fell out of a tree as an apprentice cutting it on a branch, another right below the shoulder joint of his left arm from a fight with a badger, and the final scar that is the most noticeable is the burn mark he received on his left flank from getting to close to a twoleg fire. The fur around the scar from the burn does not grow in normally and at first glance looks kind of funny but over time most cats get used to it.
Personality (6 or more sentences--these sentences form their own section and do NOT count towards the 4 groups below. Those are additional requirements): Shadowflame is not too outspoken but he isn't afraid to be blunt or share what he really thinks of another cat or subject. He tries to be nice to his clanmates, but sometimes can come off very harsh and cold when you catch him in one of his many mood swings. He can be calm and relax one minute and fiery the next. He doesn't put up with cats that act a fool for attention too well, but also tries not to judge them at the same time. He's not really a loner for he does like to sit and listen in on other cats' conversations, but he also has to have his space. He doesn't put himself out there, but will gladly open up to cats who genuinely want to actually take time to get to know him. He is not stuck up he is just very guarded with what he reveals about himself.
---Likes (at least 3): Shadowflame likes to play fight with his friends, go on long walks, and secretly enjoys helping other toms out talking to she-cats. After losing his own mate in a territory fight he has made it his goal to ensure his friends have the same experience he once did and he is very good at helping toms who don't know how to make a good impression make an everlasting one.
--- Dislikes (at least 3): Shadowflame does not like to get wet but puts up with it when he has to. He doesn't much care for eating frogs, lizards, and crows because he finds frogs too slimey, lizards too rough and out of all the birds he does eat crow feathers just tend to get stuck In his teeth way too often. He honestly can't stand cats who don't seem to have the wisdom of common sense. He is patient with those who are in the learning process, but it irritates him when you can't have enough common sense to know when it's ok to check out the thunderpath because there is no movement and when to stand away from it if your body is being shaken(example).
---Strengths (No MORE than 5): Shadowflame is smart, strong-willed, independent, and a pretty darn good fighter if he does say so himself. After all his injuries thus far he has to be considering his weak spots.
---Weaknesses (At least 3): Two of his weaknesses would be right under his left arm where a badger got him in a fight and the burn on his left flank. For some reason even after healing the wounds left him weak and if hit just right; can knock him down pretty easily. He does his best to conceal those areas in a fight but it's pretty hard to hide a burn mark when your fur doesn't come in around it properly anymore. A very sensitive weakness for him is queens and kits. In a territory battle just a few months after being made a warrior Shadowflame lost his mate Jadepool and discovered she was just a few weeks pregnant with his kits. Ever since then Shadowflame has a strong urge to defend she-cats and their kits from any potential danger and also has developed a very nurturing side that not many others get to see. He would give his life for them.
History (8 or more sentences): Shadowflame does not remember much about his kit-hood. He was the youngest of three in a litter his mother being a Shadowclan warrior and not much is known about his father other than he was some loner but there is talk among the camp that his father was also a kittypet. His mother never really told him anything other than his father had been good to her for a time and then left as soon as he found out she was going to have kits. Looking nothing like his mother or two sisters Shadowflame figured he got all his features from his father. Not many cats in the clan paid him or his sisters any attention as kits knowing they weren't full shadowclan warriors, but he didn't let that get him down. If his mother could be strong and hold her head up high even after breaking clan rules why couldn't he? Things got better when he was made an apprentice he worked hard to prove that even though he was only half clan that he could still be strong like everyone else if not stronger. Tragedy struck however when him and his sister Sterlingpaw were racing up a tree and a branch broke from beneath them. Shadowflame had just received a gash on his eye whereas his sister lost her life. So it just became him, his mother, and his other sister Dawnpaw. It was around this time that Shadowflame had met his best friend and soon to be future mate Jadepaw/pool. It was hard not having Sterlingpaw around anymore but Jadepaw soon filled the missing gap he felt at the loss of his sister. He, Dawnpaw, and Jadepaw did everything together from training, to hunting, and even getting into lots of trouble together. For moons they trained hard up until the day they were finally made warriors and they could not have been any happier. Shadowflame officially made Jadepool his mate after getting into a fight with a badger to protect her and Dawnflower. He had never seen his mother so proud, but she eventually became very ill and later passed away. Little did Shadowflame know that was only the beginning of his sorrows. Just before the battle Shadowflame had decided to go exploring and came across a strange twoleg encampment. Letting curiosity get to him he got too close and startling a group of twolegs was hit with a burning branch that had something sticky and melted burn to his side. It was because of this wound he was unable to assist in the fight which cost his beloved Jadepool her life.
Roleplay Sample (Required for first advanced bio): Shadowflame raced across the dark forest earth sniffing deeply as he went taking in every scent. Not over here. He thought to himself as he hurriedly continued on through the forest desperate to find his intended goal. Where could she possibly have gone to now? He was deeply frustrated that he was having so much difficulty finding her. Dawnflower was easy to find, but Jadepool you could forget about. She knew every good hiding place when she wanted to get away from everyone for awhile...or when she purposefully made Shadowflame hunt her down just for the fun of it. He didn't mind playing this game with her, but when she dragged it out that's when he got annoyed. She could at least make it easy for him to pick up her scent what would happen to her if something were to come out of nowhere and attack her? Didn't she ever think these things through? He laughed at the thought of it. Jadepool was strong and a free spirit so she tended not to think everything through. He loved that about her though. Now where was she? Ah-ha! He caught the slightest trace of her scent and quickly turned barely avoiding a few shrubs that would have tripped him. She thinks she's so smart. He scoffed confidently as her scent grew stronger and more familiar. He ran all the way until he came up to an unfamiliar clearing which made him stop. He knew he should have been tired after all that running but this clearing took his breath away especially because of the beautiful tabby she-cat standing in the middle of it. How had he missed it? "Jadepool," he called out to her lashing his tail impatiently from side to side as if he was agitated. "What are you doing out here? Where is here?" Jadepool laughed and spun around happily. "I don't know," She said, "but isn't it the most beautiful place you have ever seen? Come join me!"
Shadowflame purred but an uneasy feeling in the pit of his stomach held him in his place. "I don't know love, maybe we should head back and come check it out with the others." Jadepool stopped turning her head to the side in a questioning manner. "It'll be fine." She stated starting to once again leap around the clearing. An orange and black butterfly fluttering by soon caught her attention and she began to chase it. Shadowflame thought it was cute, but a deep urgency in him to leave made him a little firmer. "Jadepool we need to go," he insisted taking a single step into the clearing. In less then a heartbeat the sky suddenly darkened and the ground violently began to shake. What was happening? Jadepool was still out in the clearing when from the ground a large claw like hand of brambles and weeds came up and collapsed on top of Jadepool. "Jadepool!" Shadowflame yelled jumping to try and rescue her but his back leg was some how entangled in the same brambles that had fallen ontop of Jadepool. "Shadowflame help me!" He heard her call out desperately. He wasn't about to lose her. He pulled as hard as he could trying to get free but it wasn't working. Come on! He pleaded pulling as hard as he could. "Hold on Jadepool!" He was going to save her. He pulled a little harder and a loud scream made him stop and look up. As quickly as it all happened it was about to stop for the ground beneath his beloved Jadepool began to fall away from beneath her. His heart raced in his chest as he ripped his foot from the evil tendrils and raced out into the clearing. He was almost to her to save her but she was already gone. All that remained was a dark hole in the ground where she once had been. He was about to jump in to but then everything went dark.
Shadowflame woke in a start, "Jadepool!" He screamed looking madly around unsure of where he was. His breathing was heavy and his eyes wild. He was ready to fight but as the familiar scents of the warriors den hit him he began to relax. It was just another dream. He looked over to his left to see Dawnflower still resting peacefully despite his sudden outburst. She had gotten used to him waking up startled apparently as well as most of the other warriors for no one stirred save a few grunts and moans for him to go back to sleep. He turned his head to his right hoping to see the familiar small shape beside him but a larger one was in her place and Shadowflame had to remind himself that it had been two moons since his beloved Jadepool had died. His heart broke at the thought of her. Whhy hadn't he been there to save her? How could he have been so foolish to go and check out the twolegs when he knew he should have stayed away? His mate and kits were dead now because he had failed to protect them. He layed back down in his nest ignoring the his own discomfort of the bedding getting messed up. Tears streaked his face as he closed his eyes to fall back asleep, but sleep did not come.
