Shatteredstep needs crush/mate, friends, and apprentices!

Shykit got caught in the weeds."Help!" She meowed.She didn't know wgere she was going.She began to sob, waiting to die.

Umbre jolted awake when Shattered flew past him. He shook his head, and ran after her.

"What happened?", he asked worriedly when he reached Shattered.

Shykit was sobbing when she heard pawsteps.A shiver ran up her spine.They were going to kill her! She struggled frntically, but only cut herself more on the thorns."Help!" The blind kut cried.Once again, she was in sobs.The.calico kitgave up, and lay still.

Shykit relaxed at the cats voice, and scrambled out of the thorns.She was tired, Injured, and abandoned.

Umbre, thought not a father, knew what to do. He wrapped his tail around the little kit, and began to clean her wounds.

"Shh..it's going to be alright. You're safe now...", Umbre soothed. His voice was soft, and seemed almost melodic. The bassy tone of his voice rumbled softly, every word spoken like a beautiful note played on a cello. As if to complete this, he began to hum. The sound was soothing and sweet, a low vibrato that flowed perfectly from one note to the other.

IC: "God idea.", Umbre replied. He walled side by side with Shattered until they reached the cave. "Where'd you come from, little one?", Umbre asked. He was worried she was going to that she was abandoned. He hated the idea of unwillingly parents dumping their "defective" children. Those evil bastards...

Come back to us, our little Umbre..., the darkness called quietly. It began to wrap its cold, yet at the same time comforting and warm arms around Umbre. You would never see hate...wouldn't have to be judged...

Umbre closed his eyes and sighed.

"No. I have priorities now.", he replied under his breath. The darkness, seeing he wouldn't budge for the moment, slunk away stealthily, like it was never there in the first place.

"It's okay...we won't abandon you.", Umbre said. He picked the kit a few times. "You can have a new family with us. We will take care of you." It was exactly as he feared. The poor child had been simply dumped by her ungrateful mother. What an idiot to leave such a beautiful child alone, what a horrible parent, what an...

Umbre took a few shaky breaths.

"Thanks...", he said to his darkness. The darkness was a good thing and a bad thing. For the bad, it gave him horrible nightmares, tortured him when he was alone. But, it was also like a good parent to him. It hoped give him strength, helped him maintain his emotions, and also surprisingly gave him something to lean on in bad times. The best way to put it was an abusive parent that loved their child more than anything in the world.

Shykit always wanted a family.Her mom said families are good.She sniffed at the cats."I'm Shykit, and you cats are?"

IC: "My name is Umbre.", he said. He leaned toward Shattered. "Something funny is that I always wanted a daughter. It looks like my wish has been granted.", he whispered in her ear. Chuckling softly to himself, he leaned back. "So, I am kinda like your father, and Shatteredstep here is kind of like your mother, and Ivy is like your sister...this is really like a family. I've never had a family..."

"This is my family now...a beautiful she-cat...and two little girls...I am on my own now...", Umbre replied to his darkness. He didn't realize he said it aloud, however. The darkness, knowing he did, prepared for embarrassment.

"You...I was talking about you...I didn't realize I said that out loud...you're smiling...I've never made anyone smile...", Umbre stuttered. He looked down and flushed.

Umbre laughed nervously.

"You aren't going to judge me for saying that?", Umbre asked. He put a paw on one of hers. "Am I..." He looked into her eyes. His heart stopped as their eyes locked, and his breathing quickened. "But we just met...can I really feel this way..."

"I would never leave...you all are the only things I have worth living for...", Umbre replied.
