    Curling back into his nest, Runningwind tried desperately to fall asleep. Though his memories ate at him, and he laid in his nest, stretched out now, his long legs stretching over the nest. His eyes stared at the dark wall, and he could hardly see inside the cave that was dug. He didn't move, only laid there, his eyes open, chest moving ever so slowly. It seemed as if he was about to die. He wasn't though, and just lay their, motionlessly being tortured by his own thoughts.

    Venus sniffed a new scent: rabbit! I wonder where a rabbit is around here? Oh, it must be by the clearing where I met Runningwind! Ooh, a rabbit would be nice! She ran for the clearing; specks of snow began to fall, landing on Venus's nose. Hmph! Leaf-bare's starting!




    She continued on until she reached the clearing. However, she could no longer scent rabbit. All she could smell was a strange, unfamiliar scent. As she saw the clearing, she gasped. A large calico tom stood staring, as if just waiting for Venus to arrive. The first thing that hit Venus's mind was her dream: Brown, black and white.. all in one cat! They must have meant this monstrous tom!

    Runningwind sighed, and padded from his nest. [glow=yellow,2,300]'Venus still isn't back....I hope she's ok....' [/glow]He thought, laying there for a few minutes. Finally, he got up, and padded outside, following the tabby she-cat's scent trail. He hit the scent of rabbit, and known she must have been hunting it. Continuing on, he stopped on the top of a slope, looking down to see two cats. One was an odd, calico tom, and the other Venus, who looked scared. He hissed, and rushed down the slope, standing beside her defensively, tail lashing.

    The tom looked at Runningwind and Venus with a glint of triumph in its eyes. Venus flicked her tail, fretting with nervousness. "Who are you? Why are you here? What do you want?" Venus demanded, her meow firm and powerful, hiding her insecure side.




    The tom let out a deep mrrow of laughter. "Young cat, you seek knowledge too freely. You will know all you want, in due time."




    Venus, who was frustrated with the calico cat's riddled answers, snarled, "Just give us some answers!"

    Runningwind glared at the cat, his tail lashing. His claws dug into the earth, leaving small holes in the soil. His fur was prickled, and he noticed the tom's strange, evil aura.

    The broad-shouldered calico hissed, "Calm down, you two. Don't make me use my claws. He slid out his long black claws; they looked as if they longed to slice through flesh. Venus flinched back in fear, her eyes wide. Turning to Runningwind, she murmured, "What do we do?"

    "Run." Runningwind whispered, his lips drawn back in a snarl. He glared at the calico, His un-blind eye focusing on him. He turned to Venus, and flicked his tail, aiming it toward the hill. He willed her to run, to get away from the seemingly horrid cat who stood before them.
