    (It's the only way I could make Julian's attitude a bit more understandable) The first entry only took up one page.

    Rei finished reading it. As if his spirits weren't already down,this brought him to a whole new definition of low.

    (I'm starting to think that I'm good at depressing Rei. What's Rei's favorite food so Julian could accidentally make something that would cheer him up) Asch mewed, not liking that Rei was even more depressed.

    Asch rubbed up against him, a little confused. Julian decided on steak after a few moments. He wasn't sure how everyone liked them but he figured medium rare would do unless someone wanted theirs cooked more so it would leave room for improvement. The teen found some gravy and a can of mushrooms. He put the mushrooms on the side so the others could put it on their steak if they wanted. The oven was preheated shortly after.

    Julian finished cooking a bit later. He called the detecctives into the kitchen and they thanked him as they sat down. Julian grabbed a trey he had found and some mushrooms before he climbed the stairs and knocked on Rei's door. "Rei? Dinner's ready."

    Rei heard Julian,putting the book underneath his bed and got up,opening the door."Oh thanks."He replied,smiling at the boy as he took the tray from him."I appreciate you doing this for me squirt."He added,setting the tray on the dresser and ruffling the younger male's hair,there still being a trace of sorrow in his face and voice.

    Julian frowned at the nickname. "Better to be a squirt than an old man." he retorted but it softened a little when he noticed the sadness. "They replaced you already, didn't they?" he asked.

    "Don't get your hopes down. There's a chance that they'll want you back. Plus that tells you what's more important to them." Julian said.

    "Rei, they couldn't give you a break for an emergency. I doubted that they even cared." Julian said then added. "But you could always play your violen in front of crowds instead."

    "Maybe. Now eat your food before it gets cold." Julian said before he turned to go back downstairs.

    "Yes sir."Rei said,saluting him before closing the door quietly,grabbing the tray and set it on the bed."Did I tell him my favorite food? Hmm,must've."He inquired,shrugging and began eating it,enjoying the taste."He even got the type of steak right...This is kinda freaky."He added.

    Julian remembered that he was going to ask Rei if the steak was cooked well enough. He turned around and knocked on the door. The teen couldn't believe he forgot.

    Rei got up,opening the door and seeing it was Rei."You're freaky good."He said."How did you know this was my favorite? You're a magician aren't you?"He asked.

    Julian blinked in surprise at Rei's questions. "What are you talking about? I just came to ask if your steak was cooked well enough."
