You can make a joining thread or assume your character was born in the Clan. Unless you get a high position related cat [ For example, this character, Royalprestige, is the daughter of the deputy ] then they're born in the Clan unless they move.

If you go to Character Adoptions, there are a lot of High Position Related [HPR] cats up for adoption. If you make a thread there for non HPR characters it'll probably only attract newbies only. If one of the parents is a High Position [HP] such as a leader, or if it's HPR x HPR, there will be floods of people such as well-known people and HP owners and the occasional moderator if you're lucky.
