"It's Winter, my birthday is Christmas Eve." She told him, looking over at him. "What is your name, if you don't mind me asking."

"My name is Nikolai," he replied quietly. "My- my birthday was in the middle of November, but I- I didn't really celebrate it...it's hard to celebrate a birthday alone." He offered a hesitant smile.

He looked up at her, grey-green eyes filled with a strange mixture of uncertainty and hope. "Do you really mean that? Or are you just saying it?"

"If we were to do that," he pointed out cautiously, "I would have to go back to my apartment and get a few spare sets of clothes."

"That's fine." She told him, going over to the bed and got on her knees, looking under the bed and pulled a blanket from under it.

He lifted up his feet to make this a little easier for her. "When should I go?"

She smiled and got up going back downstairs.

This time he followed her down, and cautiously questioned, "May I have a drink of water, please?"

"Of course." She said, setting the blanket on the couch then went to the kitchen, getting him a glass of water.

He took the glass of water with a slight smile and a murmured, "Thanks," and drank slowly, feeling the water running down his throat. When he had finished, he looked back at her with a slightly sheepish smile and said, "Sorry...I was kind of thirsty."

He drank the second glass as well, although he paused between long sips of the liquid. When he had finished, he nodded to her and murmured another soft, "Thanks," this time adding, "I- I think I'm alright now."

"Your very welcome." She said, taking the glass and washed it in the sink.

He looked around, trying to find a window. "What time is it? And what day, for that matter? I've sort of lost track."
