"Two dark angels hit you in the back of the head and tried to kidnap you and kill you. I felt the pain in my head and I knew something was wrong, so I went to your apartment and saw them. They tried to drive away but I stopped them. They then broke two of your ribs and I stopped them, catching you. I made one run hit your lung on accident but I quickly healed you. They said they would come back because I was turning good and that if you were out of the picture then I'd take on my full power to be bad. But whenever I save you, I just end up being you more. I've put you in trouble that's why I'm not near you now." She told him and turned invisible.

He winced, closing his eyes again. "I would have died without you, though," he pointed out softly. "When I got hit by the car, I mean, and probably times before that, too. Don't worry about staying away from me...the worst they can do is kill me, I think."

Nikolai opened his eyes and forced himself to sit up, despite how much it hurt. "Then do your worst," he said, his face pale but his expression calm. "Hurt me in the most painful way you can think of. It can't possibly hurt more than you leaving would, but maybe if you do that...I'll be able to accept you going. I'd rather be left in pain than be abandoned."

He dropped his gaze, his shoulders slumping with defeat. "Then leave," he whispered, his voice sounding soft, submissive, meek. "If you're going to leave, then leave...leave me alone with my misery.
