She set out down, following him quietly.

Once he reached the door, he slipped his shoes back on. "I- I can walk," he murmured. "You don't need to drive me home."

"Nikolai?" She said, looking at the ground.
[/fancypost]
He paused, one hand on the doorknob. "Yes?"

She flashed in front of him and carefully pulled his head down, kissing him quickly.

He could feel a brush creeping up his cheeks, but pulled away after a few moments and left the house. "I- I'll see you later, okay? I have a lot that I need to think about right now." Nikolai offered a faint smile, then turned and left, his sweater forgotten up in the bedroom.

She turned invisible, going upstairs and saw the sweater.

Nikolai slowly made his way home, his eyes fixed on the sidewalk, unaware of what was going on around him as everything began to play itself over again in his mind. So much had happened - almost too much for him to properly take in.

She carefully picked it up and frowned. "What have I done?"
[/fancypost]
As he entered the apartment, he had an uneasy feeling in his gut, as though he was being watched, but he saw nothing when he looked around. He moved into the kitchen and quietly began to make his breakfast, tense and a little frightened. Every rustle made him jump, and after a particularly close one, he realized that not all of them had been coming from him. Thoroughly spooked, he tried to move so his back was against the wall, only to run into something warm, alive, and apparently invisible. Before he could so much as scream, a hand clamped over his mouth, and another arm held him back, keeping his struggles from making any real difference. Just as he was trying to reach for a kitchen knife, someone else hit him hard in the side of the head. Nikolai felt a rush of pain, then blacked out.

She felt a pain in her head and winced, clamping a hand over the spot where it hurt. "Something's wrong." She said, quickly going out of her house and in her car, driving away.
[/fancypost]
The two that had knocked out Nikolai quickly teleported to the outside of the apartment, where they had their own car waiting. He was stuffed unceremoniously into the trunk, then the pair that had kidnapped him let their invisibility drop, got in the car, and drove off.

Winter pulled up where the car was and saw the people, getting out of the car.
[/fancypost]
The people saw Winter and their faces paled slightly, guessing that she might recognize them as a pair of her relatives. They hit the gas and sped off.

She married her eyes then they widened. "Nikolai..." She whispered, going into his apartment, quickly looking around before she flashed into her car.
[/fancypost]
Knowing that she might follow them, the pair drove quickly out of town, trying to get as far away as they could.

She started racing down the street, after the people.
[/fancypost]
One of them kept glancing back toward her, wanting to see if she would start running over innocent people to try and catch them. That would tell the pair just how much of an influence the boy in their trunk had been on her - if she did, it would show a high level of devotion but a turn for the dark, and if she didn't, it would show commitment to more humanlike values and a potential turn toward the light. The latter option would make Nikolai a larger threat, someone who might actually be able to bring Winter over to the side of good.

She concentrated on the car and made a tire pop, making another one pop as well.
[/fancypost]
The one who had been watching her shook his head. "She's blown out two tires, but hasn't hit anyone yet. I think we might have a serious problem on our hands." A few moments later, they were free of the city and out on the highway, increasing their speed and weaving in and out of traffic to try and throw her off, especially now that controlling her car would be much more difficult.
