    Melanie blinked and looked at him, trying to figure it out. Then she shrugged. She wasn't one to pry. The girl started the car and then they were driving on the road again. It had been a long day, and Melanie noticed that the sun was starting to set. "Hey, it's a Friday and all, so wanna go someplace to eat this time?" She smiled. "Like, not eat fast food but actual restaurant food."

    "Sure," he smiled tiredly and looked at her. "That sounds nice." She put his seatbelt on and brushed his fingers through his hair once again.

  • Melanie smiled and nodded. "Thank God It's Friday." She giggled at her own little joke. The girl was Atheist for crying out loud. Twenty minutes later the two were seated at a booth in that same restaurant, waiting for their orders to come.

    "This place is always busy on Fridays, for obvious reasons." Melanie told Kyle from across the table.

    He smirked. "Wonder why," he told her, sarcastically. He glanced down at the meni and looked through it, frowning at some of the prices. He supposed he could go for something cheaper.

    Melanie laughed a bit and looked at the menu. Cheapest thing on there was always her choice. Once she had made her decision of a simple slice of pizza, she put the menu down and looked around the restaurant.
    It was busy, bustling with people. Everybody was chattering or texting or watching some random football game on one of the tvs. Crowds weren't uncommon in a relaxed restaurant like this.
    Melanie's amber gaze looked at the crowd and she spotted somebody familiar.
    Wait... Why does that guy...? Her thoughts were interrupted when the young man in the crowd turned his head and accidentally made eye contact with Melanie. The girl instantly knew who he was and felt her face heat up in embarrassment. "Aw shit." She muttered under her breath, looking away. It was too late, the damage had been done. Melanie watched as he got up from his seat and started heading for their table, a smirk on his pale face.

    Kyle followed her eyes and frowned at thw approaching male. "Who's that?" He put down his menu, deciding on the cheapest burger they had.

    AHAHAHAHA

    Melanie didn't break her gaze from the teenager as he came up to the table. She heard Kyle ask a question, but chose to ignore it for now.
    "Well look who decided to come crawling out into the sunshine, eh? Seems like you were in the dark for a long time, Melanie." The male sneered, his emerald green eyes glittering with malice.
    "Don't you dare say my name ever again, Mason." Melanie spat out the word like it was poison in her mouth. "Why the hell are you even here?" The rage and hate in her amber eyes was almost overpowering. Definitely too much emotion bottled up inside the small girl's body.
    "Oh seems like somebody's got some backbone now. Lemme clear things up for you, Mel-a-nie." Each syllable was pronounced clearly, specifically to make Melanie even more pissed off than she already was. "I do what I want. Simple as that. Of course you wouldn't know that. You're a dropout, a dumbass. Pretty much just a defect." He threw his head back and laughed.
    Melanie's fists were so tight she could feel her nails digging into her skin. However, she couldn't suppress the stupid tears that made her blink rapidly. It still hurt, even now.

    OOC ~
    I'm so evil. I had fun typing that.

    Kyle frowned in confussion. He watched the scene before him and felt anger rise in him. "Hey, douchebag, you got something better to do than to make a girl feel bad? You know, cuz that's what douche bags do. And her I.Q. Certainly seems higher than yours right about now." He smiled cooly, as if he were just in another interview, staying calm and collected.

  • Mason scowled at the guy seated with Melanie. "And who're you supposed to be, huh? Her boyfriend or something?"
    Melanie felt her face turn red instantly and she stared hard at the table. "Just go away, Mason. It's over already. You gain nothing from picking at food you've already thrown away." She knew she was sort-of insulting herself when she said that, but she also knew that's just what her ex-boyfriend wanted.

    "Yeah, I'm her male friend. And you, sir- wait, sorry! You're a child- I digress. You're an asshoke, that's what I was getting to. Now, why don't you walk off instead of looking like some hobo who crawled from the gutters to try and poke at a beautiful gril like an idiot."

  • I was thinking that the two of them go to a restaurant for one night, y'know, just to go to a restaurant and talk and eat dinner and stuff, but then Melanie sees her ex and he asks if the two are dating and Melanie pretends they are and they gotta stay that way 'till the end of the dinner and omg I'm a genius.

    OOC ~
    WE DISCUSSED THIS
    But I secretly like it better this way.

    "Alright, Mr. Hero. I'm out." Mason took a few steps back, sent a cold glare at Melanie, then turned and disappeared into the crowd.
    Melanie found it hard to swallow as she stared at the table. Well, there went her good mood.
    But, he had called you beautiful. The tiny voice in her head remarked.
    Melanie swatted the thought away and blinked some more, just to make sure the tears never spilled over. "I'm sorry." She whispered.

    I FORGOT AHH

    || ιη ¢нαяα¢тєя ||

    Frowning, he awkwardly offered his napkin. "Nah, you didn't do anything. Only I can apologize, remember?" He smirked gently.

  • OOC ~
    AHH Is right. XD
    We'll do the whole pretend-they're-dating thing another time. :)

    IC ~
    Melanie offered him a weak smile before thanking him for the napkin. "Thanks, though." Her sadness quickly melted away to be replaced by anger. "He really is a douchebag. I'm sorry you had to defend me like that. I had forgotten that this is his usual hang out, so I kinda got choked up and didn't really know what to say." She sighed and was unable to look Kyle in the eye, ashamed of herself.

    The idol frowned. "Still doesn't mean he gets to come act like an asshole over here and hurt you." Kyle frowned and sighed

  • "Yeah, well what can I do? It's not like I can stop him or anything. I'm used to it." Melanie shrugged. "I can hold my own with most people, but with him... It's a different story." She took a sip of her soda before setting the drink back down. I really do stay inside too much. Maybe. She thought.

    Frowning, he nodded a bit before sipping his own drink. "Anyway, he's gone now. Let's enjoy dinner?"

  • OOC ~
    If Melanie was totally comfortable with Kyle she'd have ordered from the kids' menu and gotten dinosaur-shaped chicken; which she would've made them fight to the death. XD
    Because it's not like I do that or anything.

    IC ~
    Melanie smiled. "Yeah. That's probably the best idea I've heard all night." About two minutes later, their food had arrived. The girl's face lit up when she actually tasted quality food. It had been so damn long since she had been to a restaurant.

  • || συт σƒ ¢нαяα¢тєя ||

    Aha uwu

    || ιη ¢нαяα¢тєя ||

    Kyle smiled at hers, laughing a bit as he cut his burger in half. "Good?" He questioned, taking a bit after he had removed the lettuce and tomato.

  • Melanie's cheeks tinged pink with embarrassment. "Yeah." She answered after taking another bite of her pizza. "I'm just not used to such good food. This is practically gourmet to me." Her face darkened somewhat. "Uh... Do you mind if I take that?" One finger pointed to the lettuce and tomato that Kyle had cast aside.

    He blinked. "Oh- sure. Sorry, I don't like salad on my cow," He winked, trying to bring her mood up again after noticing how it had darkened slightly.
