  • "Other than I mutated into a giant half bird half person and that people everywhere are killing each other, starving, being eaten, or walking around dead-no nothing is bothering me" She growls out her eyes flaring

  • Phoenix puts her hands up in a mock gesture of defense. "You wanted to know what was bothering me and I told you" I could probably have even added on more than a few things to the list I gave you, Phoenix thinks the last part to herself.

  • [align=center] Asuna, having returned, stopped at the entrance to the room. Silently, she put the food down, and stepped back. She leaned against the doorframe, examining her knife blade, watching to see how this conversation continued.

  • [align=center] Asuna bit her lip. Perhaps she should intervene. Even the smallest quarrel between two people could cause a full-fledged brawl in this place- something she'd... Errm... Conveniently forgotten to mention. Mind you, it didn't seem relevant at the time. But they didn't seem to be drawing much, if any, attention for the time being, so surely it wouldn't hurt to watch for a little longer, could it?

  • Suri quickly took out both her machine guns. She didn't shoot but she clenched her teeth "was? are they all dead because you suck at leading." she said and put her fingers on the triggers.

  • [align=center] Asuna's knife thudded into the wall between the two women. "I mean no disrespect to either of you, but I think that's enough," she said, her face emotionless, striding forward to retrieve her weapon. She made a tsk sound and held it up. "You made me scratch the blade," she said, letting out a resigned sigh. "This was my favorite knife. Cost me a ridiculous amount of ammo, I'll have you know." She glanced back out of the room at those outside, many of whom were casting poorly hisden glances their way. "Nothing to see here," she called, closing the door behind her. She leaned against it, fingering the new scratch on the knife. "Now, are we gonna settle this nicely, or do we have to go outside? Because I'm not interested in being in the middle of a riot right now." She glanced from person to person, her eyebrows raised.

  • Suri sighed and put her guns away. She put her hands on the back of her head "whatever." Eyes on the blade she smirked "I can fix that for you. If you want, I mean you did say it was your favorite blade" she said shrugging.

  • Phoenixes hands were burning with the tell tale sign of the fire with in her grasp. She just had to concentrate a little more and flames would flare up from her hands. No, she had to be calm. It angered her that someone thought she could not lead, though she was willing to point out one detail to Suri "The Infernos is the leader of the eternal flames" she says scary calm like, glaring at suri, the molten lava iris in her eyes that never seemed to stop moving were swirling in an angry mist of reds, oranges, and yellows. Her eyes allowing people to glimpse the fire that was now inside her, running through her veins.

  • Suri glanced at Pheonix and rolled her eyes "that doesn't change the fact that your a bad leader." She shrugged "maybe you should come over to my place. I could teach you a thing or two about good leading."

  • [align=center] Asuna cleared her throat. "Yes, Suri, I would apoeeciafe that," she said, giving a somewhat friendly, albeit tense, smile. "And I'm sure each of us could improve our leadership in some way or another. Nobody's perfect." She shrugged.

  • How dare she say she's not a good leader?! From the time of the last leaders death phoniex hadn't even wanted the position. But to keep a panic from spreading through the camp someone had to calm them, she still didn't think it should of been her but what was done was done. She had proven herself over and over to the camp. She was everywhere; helping sick, foraging for food, fending off rouges and other attackers, she talked with everyone and was a friend to everyone, helping solve disputes within the camp between two individual, she counted their stores and rationed the food so that no family was every starving. How dare that child question her leadership.......Phoenixes palms grew warm. She winced quietly in pain-discreetly massaging one palm with her thumb and then switching, yep, she was going to have to have doc look at her hands again. Phoenix knew one thing for sure, if she argued with this girl anymore she may do something extremely stupid. Like burn that girl to a crisp. Well maybe not all of her, maybe an arm-or a leg. Stop. Ok, calm thoughts. She thinks to herself.

  • Suri smiled and held out her hand "alright, it might take a while for me to fix it" she said. When she handed her the blade she looked at it and took it over to a table. Opening her back she took out a bunch of stuff. First she grabbed a magnify glass so she could take a closer look at the scrape.

  • Phoniex takes a deep breath before saying "I made a mistake coming here, I need to finish my task, my people eat before I do. Farewell" she says nodding to each of them, she turns and leaves. As soon as she is outside she spreads her black feathered wings with specks of red and orange through out them and lifts herself into the air.

Some time later she enters an abandoned building filling the brown messenger bag across her body with medicine and food that was salvageable. She hears zombies ahead and doesn't have anytime to think of anything but lifting her hands and letting a jet of flames burn the zombies. Her bag was filled with as much as she could carry by air, she looks at the tattered remains of her bandages and just stares at her palms, burned very badly. Blood ran from either palm down her finger tips. She didn't have time for this! She needed to get back to the camp, but the pain in her palms was excruciating, and she refused to use any of the painkillers in her bag that she had found. They were a rare find and the medical tent needed them.

She heard more of the undead outside and quickly wraps her hands in fresh bandages, though blood soon began to soak through She kicks an old window and grabs one of the larger shards, grinding her teeth at the pain that intensified in the hand that held her makeshift sword. She would have the advantage if she were out on the open streets fighting those d@*ned souls, not in here in cramped hallways. She moves swiftly outside, soon fighting the small horde that had gathered at her noise from scavenging in the middle of the street with the long shard of glass. She held it in both hands and swung with all her might.

Decapitating one zombie here, Taking an arm or leg there. One latched onto her wing and though it didn't get the chance to bite her before losing its head it had gripped her with enough strength that she had heard the loud 'CRACK' before it died, again. Her bones were hollow, like a birds, this was part of her mutation and what allowed her to be able to lift her body from the ground. It also meant that her bones broke much easier than a normal bone, especially the wings.

Tucking the injured wing limply behind her and her other one in tight to avoid that happening again, Phoenix works her way to an emergency stairwell on an apartment. She climbs it and kicks away the rusty stairs so that the zombies cant follow her. She climbs up to the roof and collapses in pain, her vibrant red hair bright against a dull background. It would be easy for anyone to see her and steal the things she had collected when she was weak. Rouges could come, but maybe help would come to. Her bandages soaked through and a wing broken would prevent her from escaping by air.

The undead were still on the streets and she groaned when she saw that her makeshift sword of glass was laying underneath the lost souls feet and being crushed by their ignorant heavy thudding feet. Great. What a spot to get herself into.

  • [align=center] OOC: Mind if I introduce my new charrie here? No? Good. :P

Aron crouched on the rooftop. Zombies swarmed below, and he rubbed his palms together eagerly. This would be fun.

He dropped to the ground in the middle of the swarm, his dark eyes flashing. Putting his palm on one zombies shoulder, her drew the energy from its body, killing both it and another of the diseased beings, frying the second with a bolt if electricity that made even his black hair stand in end. He drew his knife, one half of a matching set. His sister had the other.

He continued fighting until each and every zombie had fallen. Satusfied that the fight was over, he stretched, then sheathed his knife. He shimmied up a pipe on the side of a nearby building, eager to take a quick nap to recover some energy. He was surprised to discover a young woman in the place where he normally would have caught a few quick winks before returning home. Wait... Were those... Wings?

There was no need to dwell on such oddities now though. Not like before. These days, abnormal was the new normal. "Hey," he said quietly. "You ok?"
