    "Here take this," he said holding out an apple slowly "i dont want to fight, I know it is weird a soldier who doesnt want to fight but here i am i only joined so i could help people, people like you," he said softly "so take this apple you need it more than i do"

    Kaos blinked forcing tears back and spit at him. She didn't really know why, but it seemed the only way to get him to stop helping her. He would only abandon and betray her in the end, so why did he have to pretend like this? It wasn't right, and just plain cruel.

    He moved out of the way of the spit and looked at her and the guards that were holding her "let her go" he said as the guards stepped back "im not here to hurt you here I will turn my back and if your gone you are gone but if you stay I can help you" he said turning around I hope Rodney isn't watching because I could get in trouble he thought

    Rodney tensed. This was a bold move. If the girl ran, he would dash to intercept her, but if not, he would remain hidden for a while, just to watch. Milotic was twitching in anticipation.


    Jenny watched with horror and confusion.
    "How does he let her treat him like that?" she asked, "and now he's just letting her go?" She snorted and let the tent flap fall shut. She returned to Herdier and stroked his head.
    "Guess it's just you and me then," she sighed.

    As the guards let go of her Kaos clenched her fists, unsure why she was still staying. he's given me the chance I need, why don't I take it? Kaos thought to herself. If I run though, the guards will catch me in an instant, even if Karemat were to try to fend them off. So she just stood there, fists clenched at her sides, and waited.

    Clay turned around and smiled "now don't tell my commanding officer I did that" he said chuckling "the name is clay by the way"

    "If you expect me to tell you my name your sadley mistaken," Kaos told Clay in a low voice. She didn't know what would happen now, but it didn't really matter did it? She had been caught, and now would have to face the repercussions of her actions. She squared her shoulders and stood tall, narrowing her eyes at Clay.

    "Its fine follow me but be quiet because if Jenny hears us she is going to yell at me" he said starting to sneak towards the mess hall

    Rodney was curious. He crouched low over Milotic's back as the serpentine Pokémon slid across the ground, following them a row or two behind and to the left. He dismissed the guards as he went by, telling them he would take care of it.


    Jenny heard Rodney's orders to the guards. She jumped up and ran from the tent.
    "Rodney, Sir!" she said, standing at attention, "Let me come with you, Sir!" he stopped on his Pokémon and looked at her.
    "If you can keep up," he smiled, zooming off. Jenny recalled Herdier and jumped on Arcanine's back. She bounded after Rodney as they hurried stealthily after Clay and Kaos.

    "Why, if I may be so bold as to ask "O Great Protector of Starving Ruffians" are you doing this for me? You must have some alterior motive so why not just let it out now, and be over with it," Kaos asked Clay sarcastically. Unconsiously her hand fell to her right side, where it brushed the top of Karemat's head. Kaos still couldn't believe that the absol had stayed with her this long.

    "Watch the attitude and I am doing this because I was in your shoes once but I was only about 10 or 11 than one day a bunch of dark type pokemon attacked me for stealing some of there apples that's when a machop jumped in and fought them off, now he is my partner and best friend" clay said smiling and looking back at his Machamp who were following them "but no one else would help me and that's why I became a soldier to help people who were like me"

    Kaos paused for a moment, thinking about what he had said. He really didn't understand her circumstance, but he was the only one who was really trying to. She kept quiet and followed him.

    "Alright we are here" he said cracking the door open of the messhall looking around and holding it for kaos "ladies first" he said chuckling

    Kaos scoffed at him, but went in through the door anyway. She better get out of there soon, the more time that she spent with Clay, the more she though he wasn't actually a bad person.

    Clay walked into the kitchen part and grabbed apple's deli meats and bread "do you want a sandwich" he asked her smiling he felt that he could help everybody even if it starts just by making a sandwich

    Clay made the sandwich it was very sloppy and not put together well "um sorry I was never the best of cooks" he said chuckling "so what's your story? If you don't mind me asking"

    Kaos took the sandwich from him, letting the barest hint of a smile grace her features. "I do mind your asking, so please don't again." She started eating, ripping off half and passing it to Karemat.

    Jenny and Rodney kept coming closer.
