  • Two foxes, a male and a female, wander around the medow. They glance around, looking for food, and are wondering how the cat they raised was doing. Foxspirit, who was an abandoned kit, was taken in by these foxes. They wish to visit but know that the clan cats will chase them off.

  • Ruby the fox walked up to the baby. "Hi there; Nothing's wrong, we just wanted to visit Foxspirit, wh we rescued as a kit..." She sighed. "But We'd be chased off. Where are your parents?" Ruby asked, concerned.

  • "Dead." said Rush sadly. "Found their bodys outside the entrace to some place that smelled like cats near a river I think." Rush screeched softly and sadly.

  • Ruby gave her a sad look. "Aww... well, do you want us to take care of you?" she asked, concerned.

  • Ruby smiled. She really like this fox; he seemed like a bright young one. "Ok; follow me I'll show you to the den!!" Dragon, the other fox, padded over. Ruby explained about the baby fox, and he nodded. "Welcome to our family, little one!" he smiled. THese foxes were rare; foxes didnt normally stay as a "pack", but strangly, these two loved it.

  • Ruby smiled at the small fox. "I like you too!" she whispered back. She then paddede up to a roomy fox-hole. "Welcome home!" She padded in, going into a space big enough for five foxes; there were two nests, and she planned on making a third for Rush. Dragon came in as well and settled down in his next. He was tired after hunting all day; the prey pile was thick!

  • Ruby smiled. "That's our food; Dragon went huning! Help yourself to anything you want." She walked over to the kill pile and paused. She decided to take a racoon and started to eat it.

  • Ruby sniffed it. "Why, that's a hawk...good job, honey!" she said to Dragon. Hawks were rare and hard to get, not to mention tasty. "You've got yourself a good meal!!" she said to the young fox.

  • "Yum!" Rush said after taking a bite. Rush sniffed the air and rushed outside and came back with a small rabbbit in her mouth.

  • Ruby nodded. "Wow; good job!! You're a born hunter!" She smiled at the fox, grooming herself.

  • Dragon was sleping. He woke to find a rabbit in his face. "What's this? Did you catch this?" When Ruby nidded, Dragon smiled. "Aww thanks little one. This looks good; you sure you don't want to have it for yourself?" he asked.

  • Dragon gave him a greatful look. "THanks, you are a kind..." he said, hunching on the rabbit. It was delicous! He smiled at the lucious flavor.
