• "If you think it's best, where do you want to meet up at. We'll have to talk about the prophecy then." Vi says, walking by Raven. He was a good friend, but nothing more.

  • "Timesquare. I'll be on the jumbotron. Be safe. Please." Raven pleaded, blinking steadily at her.

  • "Jumbotron? That'll be interesting," Vi barely heard Raven say anything more.

"We should stop around here for the night," Josh says with an authorities voice, leaning against a tree.

  • "I'll take first watch." Raven volunteered. He didn't need sleep so much. The sun was like a solar panel for him during the day, charging him for the night.

  • Josh looked at him, almost gratefully. "I'll take the next one, then," He says.

"No, I can," Violet cuts in. "It's hard for me to sleep without waking up, anyway." Josh gave a half-smile, and, a wink? "Sure," He responds. The others looked at each other oddly, why was he so nice all of a sudden?

  • Raven glared daggers at Josh. He had better watch it with his girl. Wait... his girl? Since when? Slow it down, buddy. Raven said to himself and climbed a oak tree with inhuman capability and sat down on a thick old limb.

  • Josh snorts, closing his eyes. He didn't have feelings for Vi, but enjoyed annoying Raven. The Daughter of Ares rolls her eyes motioning for her friends to where she slept. Violet twitched resting her head on her knees. She was so different from them... They both were. It came and felt like a punch once and awhile, but it seemed more like now.

  • Raven stared off into the darkness, his eyes seeming to glow molten gold and amber, the color of the sun. He leaned back against the trunk of the tree and let his legs swing freely in the air. He kept glancing down at Violet.

  • Violet slowly dozed off to sleep, her warm brown hair cascading over her shoulders. Even when she slept, she was upright. Poor posture was a nightmare to her. Vi didn't dream, which was odd. Usually, especially demigods, would dream- nightmares. Instead, what came was different. A whistling, husking sound a mix between winds and human voices turned Violet in her sleep.

  • Raven noticed Violet's eyes moving in REM. He slid off of the tree, landing lightly on the balls of his feet. He walked over and knelt beside her. She put on hand under the crook of her knees, and the other on her back, he lifted her up on a cradled position and leaned against the tree. He held her, letting her head fall against his chest. Raven enjoyed the warmth of her body against his and wished her watch wouldn't come.

  • Vi's eyes flew open, her body rigid. She knew someone had her, more or less, but how or why, she didn't know. Violet rolled to the side, jolting upright into a sitting position. "Raven?" She wiped her forehead, exasperated. "You scared the crap out of me." Her eyes hardened, "It's my shift now, go cuddel up next to Josh or something." She stood, grabbing the first limb of the tree and climbing to where Raven used to perch.

  • Raven instead, walked off a little from the group, watching them from a distance. He kept his stack of cards handy. Just in case. He felt colder without her close to him. Raven fingered the glass card. If he ever needed a way out... this was his key. He waited for morning to come.

  • As soon as the first rays of dawn crept in the forest, Violet dropped from the tree, waking the others. "Come on, dawn is when the best of monsters like to search for their prey." She says, almost kidding. "Raven, you okay?" She asks, calling from behind him.

  • Raven slowly got to his feet, his eyes bright amber in the early morning sunshine. Raven nodded at her, popping his neck and back to wake up with. "We need to hurry before the Titans suspect." Raven instantly wished he hadn't said that.

  • "Oh, Titans," The Ares girl mimicked, "I'm sure there that dangerous." The Hermes boy rolled his eyes, "There defeated, and I doubt that Kronos actually stole Zeus's eagle." Josh said nothing, but zipped his backpack.

Violet blinked, her eyes a silver color. Why did she feel so defensive when they talked like that? "Ignore them, they couldn't fight a Hydra if their life depend on it."

  • Raven's eyes glowed a brilliant gold for a moment."They have no idea." He whispered harshly. "You never know." Raven said loudly.

  • The others turned, "What do you mean?" Amelia asks, almost scoffing.
Vi gave Raven's hand a Squeeze, hoping he wouldn't bring this too far. Should she help him?

  • "Titans are unpredictable." Raven stopped there. He had already said too much. He returned.

  • "Whatever," Amelia scoffs, "There no threat to us."

Violet mimicked Amelia under her breath, walking quicker ahead. A brisk jog always seemed to help things.

  • "No threat to you yet." Raven murmured, jogging after Violet. "I hope I didn't embarrass you last night." he said, his voice steady and even.
