Grim

I roamed the cool, lonely streets of the abandoned city, stepping over shard of metal, rocks, and rubble. I made my way around a large thing, what humans called a "bus". I pricked my black and white ears, hearing a groaning in the distance. "Just a tilting building.." I assumed, since most buildings were tilting and falling apart and groaning, etc. etc. I crouched as I heard teeth snapping and glanced around. I wasn't sure where it came from, nor what the thing was. It could be a dog, or a hungry undead killer. My stomach growled its protest and I rolled my eyes. I hadn't found food today, and neither had I yesterday. I was quite hungry; Maybe I should go into a super market. I slowly made my way to a large abandoned place called "Sam's". I squeezed in through the entry, which was blocked by a fallen letter.

It was dark inside, and rubble was spread out everywhere. I glanced up and took note of the ceiling; some parts had collapsed. I made my way through the abandoned store, aware of my surroundings. I hadn't seen another living soul in who-knows-how-long. I headed for the meat section and found a jackpot; dozens of meat just sitting there, where it used to be cooled and kept fresh. I could smell some of it rotting; oh well. Meat's meat. I dug in. I leaped into the "meat-keeper" as I called it, and ripped open a sack. The smell wafted through my nostrils and my mouth watered. This one was still fresh. I gobbled it up and sniffed out another fresh pack and ate that up. I ate until my tummy was full; about.. hmm.. I'd say... Six, seven packs? Maybe more.. I'm not sure.. But boy, was I happy. I just needed water... Ah!

I heard trickling and headed for it, and spotted water trickling from the ceiling. I lapped some up and licked my chops. What a good day.. Nothing had attacked me yet today, and I hadn't attacked anything but that meat. Yum, yum. I headed back to where I'd eaten and curled up, tired. I knew this wasn't a safe place to sleep all by myself, but boy, that meal made my tired. And my trek. I closed my eyes and fell into a light slumber.

I gathered up my senses and awoke. I had no idea where I was; just an abandoned city filled with the tangible smell of death, starvation, sickness, and hopelessness. Yuck.. Oh no, oh no. I arched my back and hiccupped, and then wretched. I threw up the contents of my stomach; the remains of a rat from yesterday, and.. stomach acid. And a lot of it. Dammit. Now I had an empty stomach again. Grr.. I began a trek for a meal. I was so hungry, that if I killed another dog, I'd eat 'em. My stomach growled loudly in reply and I paused, in case anyone or anything heard it; nothing.

I continued on, heading for a super market. It was called "Target". I knew there had to be some food here, and I squeezed through the entry, and made my way towards a sign that said "Food". I saw an arrow, and I walked n the direction it pointed. Jackpot; ish. I ran, and skidded to a halt, looking down the long aisle. There was meat, eggs, and other human drinks. I ran for the meat and jumped into its place, eating all the fresh meat I could. After I finished, I didn't bother for a drink, and I licked my bloody chops. I left the super market, now on a full tummy. At least I'd be gaining some weight to my boney build. I usually had a nice strong build, often mistaken as a male. Which pissed me off some. I was obviously a female. Do you see any junk on me? Damn..

  • .:Chaos:.

Chaos padded silently alongside of Eclipse.Towering over the in comparaison small dog.His skinny tail flicked as they moved. His round brown eyes landed squarely on Eclipse. He began to wonder, why wouldn't she leave him? He had been nothing but mean to her, telling her to go away or find someone else to bother.

Was she really that tolorant of him? Or maybe she felt bad for the large Great dane?It didn't make sense and he didn't like it because he couldn't understand it.Maybe she was just stupid, like those other dogs who he dislikes. She stays glued to his side because she doesn't know what he's capible of. What an idiot...That poor poor idiot.

Well he wouldn't care. She can be dumb all she wants but then again,it was his fault for approching her.He was the one who had been curious to see if there were actually living dogs left, and he paid the price of being called 'mutt' or 'dummy' by Eclipse, and don't think that she got away with that. He'd definatly snap back a nasty reply that would leave the two in silence like they were now.But again, he wouldn't care.

    .:Eclipse:.

Eclipse survayed the city as they passed it. Her Honey brown eyes moving back and forth as she looked for anything useful. Her eyes momentarilly landed on the large Great dane who padded along next to her. They had recently got into another quarrel, apparently she had made the 'mistake' of calling him a 'Dummy' and he threw a hissy fit.Now the two had walked in silence.

Honestly,if that large mutt didn't look so promising to be around, she would have left first chance she got.But she stayed because of her morals. Those d*mn morals, they always got her.She felt bad for him so she stuck with him.Now she was more then half-tempted to yell at him and take off by that point but what good would that be.Then she'd be alone again and that was something she didn't want to do anymore.

Actually she had set a personal goal for herself, how long could she get along without feeling that nagging urge to rip his tail off and feed it to a zombie dog? She would go as long as she could without wanting to do that. It'd be hard, but at least it was something to do.

  • -track!- unsure what to say and have to go somewhere... later!:)-also am going to make my 2nd charrie then rp both later...

    .: Shara :.

The black and white fae walked up the stone footpath that was filled with memories of her past. Shara looked over her shoulder at the red and white brute that was trailing behind her. Shara rolled her bright orange eyes and continued walking. She had to find food, and soon. The red brute was torn and battered from perevious fights and claimed they where from his 'zombie' mother. Shara's eyes lit up as she spotted a "Coles" in the distance. It was big, my not have food, but it was shelter! "Come on!" She yapped at the brute who sighed and began to run with her. He staggered behing the white and black border collie. The pair ran for a couple of seconds untill the brute collaped on the hard rubble-like surface of the path.

"Come on ,darl!" Shara yipped at the brute to get up but he just groaned in reply. THe fae growled and grabbed the brute by his collar and dragged him. Shara then dropped the worn-leather collar once she realised she was strangeling the brute. The red and white brute stood up and coughed, "I'll walk". Once the pair arrived they realised the place was destroyed, crawling with rubble and smelt of infection Shara and Red backed away. The stench of illness grew stronger and Shara made a run for it, there was no-way she was going into that death trap.

    .: Red :.

The red and white brute staggered allong behind the fae, just as she began to run. Did i do something wrong? He thought as he tried to run after her. but then his legs began to give in and Red found himself on the hard rubble stone. Red groaned as he stood up, his body was begining to give up. Red growled slightly as he staggered over to a log and srawled inside. It was getting dark. Every dog knew that it you when out a night, you were at risk of getting bitten and infected. The brute lacked away into the shadows as he heard a deathly howl of a zombie dog.

It was hard to sleep, with the sounds of the last humans screaming in pain and dogs barking and howling, there was also the occaisional brawl. Once the orange glow of sinrise met Red's face he woke. His legs were getting better and his cuts were healing, whatever that dog .. um . . Shara, had put on them ,it had worked. Red slipped out of the log and saw Shara. Wounded. . . . .

A walk in a certain direction, causing me to become exhausted, starving, and dehydrated. I hadn't stopped in hours to eat... and my paws hurt very badly. There were no stores, and no old food restaurants in sight. Only houses, and business buildings. I had no choice but to keep walking. Until an idea came to me...

I stopped, and looked at a fairly maintained house before cautiously making my way inside, keeping my gaze, and my nose down to smell infected. Everything seemed alright here, so I made my way inside quickly, looking in the kitchen for food.

Nothing... absolutely nothing... some human probably got all of the food and made a run for it... of course.. Just like my master did. I had been abandoned because of my stupid master's own personal need. Only to be killed in a car accident while trying to get away. I stayed with his dying body until his final breath, and then I fled...

I pulled myself together and I sighed. I left the store and set off once more, the tangible mixture of scents trying to get to me again. I held down the wretch that was forcing its way up my throat, and I tried so hard not to think about it. I didn't want throw up my only meal within a few days. I sat down, glancing up at the darkening sky. This was no regular storm... The storms that now existed were different from the ones before the apocalypse. Tornadoes were usually things that happened during storms like these, destroying the city even more. Luckily, they got no bigger than an EF-3. The EF-3's were now the most dangerous. I needed to find shelter from this storm soon. I looked around, and decided on a small building that looked like it could hold up against an EF-3. I trotted over and headed inside, squeezing past rubble and crawling under it, etc.

I hid under a large desk that was attached to the ground, and just waited. Tired, I closed my eyes and rested. I didn't fall asleep, but just kept my eyes closed, and laid there silently. I felt miserable.. I felt like this was my new life.. A life that would be lived fighting for shelter, food... water.. And life itself..

I heard a growl that forced myself to stop resting and open my eyes. I swallowed hard but kept quiet. I spotted a real skinny wolf prowling in the building; it'd scented me. It's beady yellow eyes scanned the place and stopped on the desk I was hiding under. It bared it's teeth and snarled; wait for it... It stalked forward slowly, warning me away. Warning me to leave before it killed me- like it could. As it came into leaping distance, I crawled out and lunged for its throat. My teeth sank into flesh; but it was the flesh on its shoulder. I snarled around my mouthful and let go, and it swung at me. I ducked, and it missed. I powerfully pushed myself with my hind legs and bowled it over, and I was on top of it. It glared at me, and I glared back, showing my canines. I sank my teeth into its throat, ending its life. I got off and hid under the desk again, leaving the dead wolf where it was to warn off anybody else who decided to take my hiding building.

  • .::.Diabolus Tasmanian.::.

click. click. click. click. those were the only sounds coming from the Tibetan Mastiff has he wandered his way through the streets. the very ominous streets that he lived on to this day; fight, clawing, biting his way to the top of the survival list. everything was utterly silent on the fog-filled streets as he padded down them, searching out food, water or even shelter for that matter. his golden-brown eyes scanned the area as he searched for a food mart, gas station, mall or shop. yet, his small eyes met nothing as he continued forth on his long trek to nowhere. Diabolus was silent then as his ears flicked against the wind that brewed up for the oncoming storm. slowly, his eyes made their way up to the sky to see how dark it was and tell if he needed to find shelter soon or not.

either way, he was a dog made for cold, freezing, and brutal weather, he would be able to continue on in the most horrid of weathers. "I need to find food or water or even some type of shelter if I have to, but where?" the Mastiff mused to himself. in that instance, his deep voice had rung out into the eerie silence, making it just that much more spooky. just what he needed, to scare the living hell out of himself with his own voice. Diabolus gave a gruff grunt to himself as he paused and lifted his maned head up to its full height. the Tibetan Mastiff looked around once more before he turned off to the side and ducked into some old building. it looked sturdy enough to hold itself against the oncoming storm, so, hopefully, it would provide good shelter.

The lean shape stealthily slipped along the streets, her velvety red fur slightly matted with the debris of the great outdoors. With a huff, Vera flicked her intense gaze among the area. Her nose involuntarily wrinkled at the strong scent of death, and her pelt prickled. She felt so open, and vulnerable out in the streets. With quick strategical thinking, she swiftly raced across the street and into some darker part of the town.

  • .:Chaos:.

Chaos continued padding foward. His long limbs moving dantily across the ground. The wind blew hard forcing his ears to blow foward."Uh...I think we need to find a place to rest..."He murmured, his deep Australian voice was quiet,he didn't like talking much.

Looking around for a suitable place to stay he saw a small building,it looked a little like a shed. That'll do."He recommended as he padded close to the shed.He listened closely for the sounds of anything such as groaning or maybe the smell of death, but he didn't smell much of anything except tools and stuff. He peeked inside of the shed cautiously seeing it was empty, the stale scent of Death was here but long gone now.He padded inside gazing at the rotting wood and the useless tools. He saw no signs of food or water.

    .:Eclipse:.

Eclipse padded by his side. When he said something about rest she rolled her eyes."Duh.."She thought mockingly but she didn't reply. She watched him check the place out and after entering she sat down with a sigh."So,are you always this....Quiet?"She had asked the enourmous brute. Not even waiting for a reply she looked down at her paws."You don't have to answer that.."She muttered.

She lied down now getting comfortable. She was glad he had asked that they took a rest. With the wind picking up like that who knew how the weather would turn out.She rested her head on her paws. Her floppy black ears smaking her face brifly before bouncing back to their proper place.

I walked slowly and cautiously next to a building wall, hearing sounds in the distance. My stomach growled, but I had long since gotten used to being hungry and underweight. My head hung low as my long nose brought in the scents around, helping me figure out where some source of food could be. The feathery fur on my tail dragged against the moist ground, collecting dirt, but it was one of my least concerns. My paws stepped silently onto the broken road, stepping over or around some sort of debris with each step I took. I was lucky the pads on my paws had become harder, at least something about me was tough for once. My senses told me other dogs were about, not just zombies, but actual live dogs. The thought caused me to cower even more than before, fear in my eyes. Other dogs, or creatures.. had long since caused me to be afraid. In my life so far, any other animal I had met that had not been prey had caused me pain, suffering, grief, and that is just to name a few. A fly buzzed about my face, crawling about until I snapped my jaws around it, hungry enough to eat anything I could find. My mouth was dry and longed for the taste of something besides dirty water. I had to find food, soon.
