Looking around the dark hallways, The Detective tilted his had back and sniffed the air. "This way," he said softly after a minute. He lead Sam down the hall, continuing to smell the air around them as he walked.

I followed closely, trying to sniff the air and see what he smelled, but it didn't make a difference to me.Maybe it was a time lord thing, considering I was once again human.
-
The Detective stopped short, looking around wildly. "Sam stay very still," he commanded in a quiet voice. A low growl sounded throughout the maze, the noise growing slowly louder.
-
My breath caught along with the noise of the growling. What the hell was that?!Were we going to die in this stupid maze? How were we ever to find ourselves out of this labyrinth?
-
The noise soon passed, and the Detective released a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding. "If I'm right... the exit should be just on the right..."
-
I released my own breath, breathing slowly and shallowly as I relaxed my tightened grip on the Detectives hand.I couldn't wait to be out."What was that?"I asked.
-
"You know what a dragon is?" The Detective asked Sam softly.
-
"Like,Dragon Tales dragon,or The Hobbit dragon?"I asked, pulling myself closer to him.
-
"Are those like certain types of dragons?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. "Nevermind, just imagine a dragon, but more dog like... and more dangerous, and has very sharp teeth and blows poison gas instead of fire."
-
"Well, that's fascinating.Lets get out of her before we die, shall we?"I asked,my panic growing with each dying second.
-
"Alright let's go." The Detective walked forward, a passage on both his left and right. On the right was a hall that lead to a lit room, his TARDIS sitting beneath a lamp hanging from the ceiling. The left lead to a dark passage, a red light going off every few seconds, the sound of his sonic going off. "..."
-
"De-Detective?"I asked, not recalling feeling as if I should say more or not.The sonic was a clear sign or trying to lure us into a trap of some sort, but could we leave without it?The TARDIS was right there, couldn't we leave?
-
He looked back and forth between the two halls, trying to decide wether he should put them both in danger or leave. Taking a deep breath he lead Sam toward the TARDIS, his face expressionless as he walked.
-
I followed him silently,my head bowed slightly as I looked at the floor.I didn't know what to say, what I could say to him. What could I?There was nothing.
-
"You alright?" He glanced back at Sam, giving her a small smile. "You seem at a loss for words." He opened the TARDIS door for her, allowing the other to enter first.
-
"Yeah,I'm good."I said, leaning up on my toes to kiss his cheek before I entered the TARDIS fully."Just don't really have anything to say, that's all."
-
"Oh... Alright." He entered after her, closing the door behind him. The Detective let out a sigh, leaning on the door for a while. He closed his eyes and leaned his head back.
-
"Are you alright?'I asked, walking to the console and leaning against it,tilting my head at him.
-
"Yeah," The Detective nodded softly. "Just... felt like i lost an old friend. I'll be alright..." He opened eyes, which looked a dull green instead of a bright emerald. Walking over to the console and standing beside Sam, he looked down at the controls and piloted them to float in space.
-
"Do you need anything?I can go boil a kettle,if you like."I offered, worried about the man.It was rare to ever see him this sad,or even sad in general. He was always the happy one,who kept on holding my hand through it all.Maybe I needed to be the one holding his hand right back.
