Firesky stared at Nightgaze, surprised. Didn't he understand that it was against the warrior code?
"He's the leader of RiverClan," she meowed. "It's against the warrior code."

Nightgaze looked at her.
"I know. I've done tings outside of the warrior code too." He shrugged, eating the mouse. -
IC: "Well Im over him now," she meowed. "I've always wanted kits, and I thought Treestripe would be a good chance. But we never did." She looked into Nightgaze's eyes again. She wanted to tell him how she felt, but she didn't know if he felt the same.

Nightgaze sat in the dark silently, listening to a cricket in the distant.
"Well...how come you never come to the warriors den anyways, you're too young to be in the elders'." He said, out of his mind. "I mean you don't have to answer, I was just wondering." He said, hoping he hadn't offended her. -
"I don't know. I slept with Treestripe in the warriors den evey once in a while. The elder's den isn't that bad. It's fun listening to Flywing and Dogspot arguing sometimes." She quickly licked a paw and drew it over her ear.
-
"Their arguments can sometimes be heard all across the forest, if you ask me." Nightgaze said, shaking his head. "I don't even know why they haven't ripped each other to shreds." He added.
Nightgaze was itching to stretch his legs out, so he asked Firesky, "Want to keep going?" and rose up to his feet. -
She laughed. They did get loud sometimes.
"Ok," she meowed. She stretched her three legs in turn. She looked at Nightgaze micheviously. She didn't want to walk. She wanted to race.
"Race you to Fourtrees!" she called, dashing off. She wasn't as fast as she used to be when she had all four legs, but she was still pretty fast. -
Nightgaze's eyes narrowed in a competitive way, and he raced after Firesky.
In a brief while, he caught up.
"See you at Fourtrees!" He said, as he ran past.
Sometime later he saw Firesky's orange pelt and tried to go faster.
He felt as if he was stuck in quicksand, he couldn't go that much quicker. -
She got tired quickly with only three legs. She slowed to a trot. When she got her energy back up, she ran after Nightgaze.
-
"Oh, I see how it is!" Nightgaze said as he jumped onto a tree. He went from branch to branch and neared to Fourtrees. Even though he was first right now, he didn't feel like a winner. There was emptiness in his pride. He sopped in his tracks, and listened to Fireskys' feet as they ran to Fourtrees. Wind rustled his fur as she went by. He jumped down when he was sure she was at the destination, and started running towards the tree, making look like he had been running and trying to beat her with all his might.
-
Firesky dove in a bush silently. She knew that Nightgaze let her catch up, and she wanted to show him what he got for doing that. As the pawsteps came closer, she leaped out of the bush and landed on Noghtgaze, pinning him down.
"That'll teach you not to go easy on me," she meowed laughing. -
Nightgaze's head landing on the ground before the rest of his body. He shook his head and looked ahead. He saw two green eyes meeting him. "Oh, don't worry, I won't." He meowed, smiling. He rolled onto his back and sprang up once Firesky had let go of him. He crouched down, and once Firesky had gotten up, he leaped up onto her from his crouching position.
