“Three Will Rise, And Will Be United Though Separate”

Chapter One: Ice, Season, and Sun’s Journey

Sun pushed on, the snow raining down on him and his siblings. Sun’s golden-brown pelt was speckled with the cold white flakes. He glances over at Season and Ice. They looked tired. Sun must have too, for Ice soon slowed to a stop.
“Brothers, we must stop.” Ice pleaded.
Season turned to Ice. “We’re almost there.” He meowed.
“I know. I’m freezing though!” Ice complained.
Sun moved closer to his sister. “We’re almost there.” He replies, glancing at his brother, who was watching. Season dipped his head.
“Ill continue on, get your nests ready.”
“Thank you brother.” Sun meows, flicking his tail. Season races off into the white.
“Come on. We cant get stuck out here in this blizzard.” Ice meows, now determined. She bounds after Season, leaving Sun to follow.
Finally they reach the den, a low fern with brambles surrounding it. Ice, Season, and Sun settled into their nests, lined with feathers and moss. Their nests also had mice pelts in them. Ice sighed.
Sun turns his head towards her. “What?”
“Is it the warmth?” Season guesses.
Ice nods. “Yea, it’s the warmth. I’m so tired too. See you too in the morning.” She yawns.
Sun closes his eyes, setting his head on his paws.
    ***
The dawn sun was the only thing strong enough to penetrate the leaves of the fern. When Sun blinked awake, the light had made a soft, green glow in the den. Ice’s nest was empty, while Season was still asleep. When Sun left the den, he saw Ice piling a vole onto two mice and a thrush. The fresh-kill pile. Ice looks up at him.
“Sun, can I tell you something?” Ice asks.
    “Yea, anything.” Sun replies.
“I can jump higher than you two, and run faster.” Ice pauses, “And much more dedicated.”
    “Go on.” Sun meows.
“Well, I’ve been thinking. Why not get more cats like me, and lead them on to survive? You, you could lead strong and brave cats, while Season could lead cats who were kind and understanding.” Ice meows, in one breath.
Sun pricks his ears. “But we’ve always been the three.” He meows.
“I know! Its just, were all older now, Sun! I cant continue on like this.” Ice mews quietly.
Sun dips his head. “Do what you want.” He replies.
Ice sighs. “Ok.” She meows, taking the thrush. She quickly eats it. “Tell Season, I love him. Good-bye Sun.” she meows, padding out of the bramble patch.

Chapter Two Coming Soon! I am writing more and would like to improve, so don't be afraid to say something not very good about my story!!

  • Chapter Two: Four will rise, and One Will Fall
Ice narrows her eyes, padding out of the prickly patch. She sighs, looking around. The two-leg place. She thinks. Ice pads towards the rough stone houses. She leaps over a white wooden fence. She hears a hiss behind her, and turns, claws extending. There stood a small black tom. He looked about eight moons old.
“What are you doing here?” he asks.
Ice dipped her head. “I am Ice, and you are?” Ice asks, looking into the flame colored eyes.
“Coal. I live here.” The tom meows, flicking his tail. Ice could tell he was once a loner.
“Well, Coal, may I ask you some questions?” Ice asks, hopeful.
“Sure.” Coal shrugs, all signs of hostility gone.
“Coal, how long have you been here?” Ice questions.
“I think about a moon, why?” Coal asks, warily.
“Well, I was about to start a… a clan.” Ice meows.
Coal tilts his head. “A clan?”
“I’ll explain the basics later, but I need more cats to join… Iceclan.” Ice meows.
Coal nods. “I guess I’ll try it. But, no promises.” He explains.
Ice dips her head again. “Thank you Coal. Come.”
Ice bounds off, deeper into the two-leg place, known as Autumn Hill. Coal follows.
The two soon reached another house that occupied cats, and persuaded the two who lived there to join.
“Thank you, Cherry and Twig. We really needed more members.”
“No problem! Were always open to new opportunities.” Cherry replied.
Twig sat there, staring at Coal.
“How will this young one learn to hunt and all that?” he asked.
“Well, maybe you could mentor him.” Ice tilted her head as she replied.
    “Maybe.” Twig meows.
“It’s nearly sun-down, we should find a place to rest.” Coal suggests.
Ice nods. “I know a nice place, where the clan can grow.” She meowed, then flicked her tail. “Come on.”
The setting sun warmed the group as they headed out of Autumn Hill. Ice stopped near a small dip. They were surrounded by trees. The constant light snow had not slowed them down. The forest floor was lightly coated. Ice nods towards the dip.
    “Here we are.” She meows.
As the small clan entered the dip, it opened up. There was no snow on the ground, for there was a large Oak tree in the middle of the clearing, its branches crisscrossing and reaching. There was a large, split rock, which would soon be the medicine den, with a hollow dip at the top. In the dip on the rock, was a pool that fed a stream that fell in front of the entrance, and gurgled half-way across the clearing. There was a hole, an un-used rabbit hole, in which would soon be the nursery. A bunch of ferns were huddled together, where Coal would sleep. There was a hollow log behind the ferns where Ice would soon be staying. Nest to the entrance, where Cherry, and Twig would stay, was a bramble patch. A rock lying on top of two other rocks would soon be named the elders den.
Cherry gasps. “Wow!” she meows, her tail tip flicking.
    Twig nodded agreement.
Ice also nodded, then turned towards the group. “Cherry, Twig. You two are, warriors. You will sleep here, under the bramble patch. Coal, you will be sleeping under the fern over there.” She meows, angling her ears towards the objects as she spoke.
“Ok.” Coal meowed, padding towards the fern, yawning.
Cherry instantly ducked under the bramble patch. “Night!” she called. The flame point disappeared under the bush.
Only Twig and Ice were left in the clearing.
The brown tom pricks his ears. “I’ll see you in, the morning then. I’d better join my sister.” He meows, then retreats to the bramble bush. The white she started for the hollow log, which looked comfy.
Good night, all of you. She thought, as she fell asleep.

Heres Chapter Two!! Three Coming Soon!

  • Chapter Three – Iceclan Is Here
Ice wakes up, yawning. She stretches, padding out of the log. She looks around, blinking. Coal was already sitting by the ferns. But Cherry and Twig were still sleeping.
Ice sits, wrapping her bushy tail around her paws. Coal looks up from his grooming.
“Good morning Ice!” he meows, waving his tail.
“Coal.” Ice replies, smiling. Ice decides to give everyone proper names before stocking up on prey. She leaps up beside the pool on the split rock.
“All cats old enough to catch prey gather!” Ice yowls, coming up with the line while she was saying it.
Cherry and Twig sit before the rock, Coal behind them.
“As a clan, we must use proper names. Step forward Coal.” Ice meows.
Coal leaps up onto a small ledge on the side of the rock. “Yes Icestar?” he asks.
“Coal. Do you wish to become a full part of Iceclan?” Ice asks.
“I do.” The black apprentice meows.
“Then, I give you your name. Coalpaw. A ‘paw is an apprentice, and an apprentice is someone in training. Coalpaw, you will be mentored by Twig. Twig and Cherry, come up.”
Coalpaw leaps back down, eyes gleaming and fur fluffed up happily. Twig and Cherry take his place.
“Cherry and Twig. Do you two wish to become part of Iceclan?” Ice questions the two.
“I do.” The two say in unison.
“Then I give you your names. Twigstep and,” Ice is cut off by Cherry.
    “Wait!” Cherry meows loudly.
    “Yes?” Ice asks, curious.
“I’m not the best hunter, but I am a very skilled healer. I’d rather be your… medicine cat.” Cherry mews.
“Ok. Then, I name you Cherryherb.” Ice meows. “And myself, I will be called, Icestar.”
    “Cherryherb, Twigstep, Icestar!” Coalpaw cheers.
“Icestar, Twigstep, Coalpaw!” Cherryherb yowls, keeping it up.
Twigstep keeps silent, as does Icestar.
“But, Iceclan is not complete. We are still small, and we need a deputy. Twigstep, would you do the honors of ordering patrols, and keeping things in line if I can’t?” Icestar asks.
    “I will.” Twigstep replies.
    “Meeting dismissed.” Icestar meows.
Twigstep leaps off the ledge, flicking his tail tip to Coalpaw. “Come, lets hunt.”
Cherryherb caught up to the two. “I need some herbs, I’m coming with!” she meows enthusiastically.
Coalpaw turns at the entrance. “What about you Icestar?” he asks.
“I must search for more cats.” Icestar replies. “Go now.”
Coalpaw whips around, racing out of camp.
Icestar sighs. Finally, this was all coming together.
Icestar leaps down, pelting out of camp.
She stopped dead as she heard a cat.
“Help!” a she somewhere in the distance screeched.
