Echoingvoice flicked her tail back and forth. SHe kenw something was on his mind, but she wouldnt ask. She didnt want to bug him with trying to find out all thats in his head. "Tell me about your time away then,"s he emwed nonchalently.

"Well....." Sootfur started, not really what all there was to tell. "At first it was awkward, being alone after spending my whole life with such a large clan" he said. "But after a few days, it was nice. No one there to wake you when you needed to rest. No drama from the other cats to make stress. It was actually quite peaceful"
-
Eachoingvoice listened with perked ears, happy to hear Sootfur had been happy. Although she wasnt sure if she could be alone again like when she was a kittypet, the ragdoll would do anything for some peace from the other cats. "Sounds like you liked it alot," she mewed wondering what it would be like, to be a loner even if only for a little while. "What did you see? I mean you must have seen some cool stuff if you were so faraway," she mewed.
-
"I told you about the mountains. Such pretty sights it was, but hard climbing and scarce prey. Only the toughest cats can live up there. I'm only lucky I lived" he replied. "I saw plenty of two-leg places. Lots of cats there. More than I thought possible."
-
Echoingvoice knew about twolegplaces and cats. Loners and kittypets and more loners and kittypets. "Too many to count. I dont know how one twolegplace can hold cats in those numbers," she mewed. "I mean if its anything like where I knew," she added wondering if maybe Sootfur had seen a twolegplace with even more cats.
-
"It was all the same to me, I was in more than one twolegplace" he replied. "So I'm sure it was like what you knew" He came to a stop at the small stream that was in Thunderclan and crouched down to get a drink. Looking into his reflection, he could tell just by that how much he had changed. Not only mentally, but physically too.
-
Echoingvoice pricked her ears as they came to the stream and she too bent for a drink. It was refreshing and cool the water quenching her thirst. Looking sheepishly over to Sootfur, she looked over the tom. He looked a lot leaner and muscular then when she ahd last seen him. A few cscars here and there, more wisdom and strength in him. It was a nice change.
-
Sootfur raised his head, ears flicking forward. He meet the gaze of dark burning amber eyes watching them from the darkness across the stream from them. He knew it was Thunderclan. The hatred was strong in that stare. Sootfur just looked back, and the eyes blinked and then disappeared. "we better go" he murmured to Echoingvoice.
-
Echoingvoice's pelt prickled as those dark eyes rested on them. She bared her teeth but nodded to Sootfur. It was better to not cause to much trouble. "Alright, come on," she mewed quietly and rose to her paws again.
-
Sootfur lead them away and off to a more quiet place. He paused, glancing up towards the clear sky that was blocked with tree tops. It wasn't much different here than with Shadowclan territory. "I could almost forget this wasn't Shadowclan land" he said, dropping his gaze to look upon her.
-
Echoingvoice followed the tom, looking around for more Thunderclanners. Despite them owning teh other clan, it was still unsafe in their territory. As Soofur spoke, the ragdoll's eyes drifted up. "Yes. But know it is Shadowclan's territory," she mewed a hint of resent in her voice. She didn't believe it was right, them owning another clan.
-
He heard the resentment in her voice and gave a tiny nod. "Let's head back, maybe along the Riverclan border" he said as he changed directions.
-
Echoingvoice nodded and followed Sootfur. She padded just behind him and found her eyes drifting over his pelt again. Why was she doing that? Yes he looked different, but not that much.
-
Sootfur's nose wrinkled as Riverclan scent washed over him with the smell of old blood, like wounds. "Does Riverclan fall so low to send out hurt cats to patrol?" He muttered, not knowing that it was Tawnytail's scent.
-
Echoingvoice had also picked up the scent and her heart started to pound. She looked around wildly for the tom. Was he hurt that badly still?
-
Sootfur never saw the tom, and after they left the Riverclan border, the grey tom started to head back towards the camp. "I'm going to get some rest and hopefully go for a dusk patrol" he said. "If you want to stay out and hunt, go ahead"
-
Echoingvoice nodded absenent mindedly after Sootfur. All she could think about was Tawnytail. "Tawnytail," she called quietly.
-
Tawnytail gave no reply as the sleek dark brown tom had fallen asleep under the bush both of them normally stayed at.
-
The ragdoll padded aorund, coming to teh bush. She stuck her head in and spotted Tawnytail. "Tawnytail," she purred in delihgt, rsuhing to his side.
-
Tawnytail raised his head, startled by the Shadowclan scent. But he quickly caught Echoingvoice's scent mixed in it, and smiled rather than snarled. "Echoingvoice" he greeted, his amber eyes looking at her happily. She looked good. Not a new mark on her that he could see, unlike himself. His sleek fur was ruffled with healing wounds. Most were pink scars were they were healing together. Only one was still bad, which was on is neck. It had gotten infected and was a harder battle to survive that the cat that had given it too him. He was thin, more so that a Windclan cat. It was obvious he had been sick, as his eyes were still feverish and his nose was still runny.
