Echoingvoice looked up at Sootfur and met his gaze. "Im sorry. That your mother died and that your father, maybe wasnt the best," she mewed sencerly.

Sootfur just shrugged and looked away. She didn't have to know what all Bearfur had done to him. In fact, she would never know. "Doesn't matter" he said, before standing. "I'm not going back to camp, but I don't feel like just sitting here" The tom said before he started towards the Windclan border. It was the farthest away and would be the longest walk.
-
Echoingvoice watched Sootfur walk for a moment then followed. "If you dont mind, Il come," she mewed walking behind him carefully. She had a feeling he was hidding something, but Echoingvoice didnt really know if she wanted to know. His life didnt sound like chocolate and rainbows to her.
-
Sootfur didn't say anything, neither to chase her off or to make her follow anymore than she already was. The tom wasn't quite sure what to think anymore. Maybe clan life wasn't as suiting as it should be for him. Maybe more was calling to him than this.
-
Echoingvoice followed behind Sootfur, saying nothing. Something told her he wanted to just, think. And she did to. What was happening with them? Were they still like enemies? Or were they friends now? Or at least aquintences.
-
By time they reached the border, Sootfur didn't hesitate on crossing it. He paused on the other side, glancing back to Echoingvoice. "Thank you for your help. I didn't deserve it, but I do have to say this is good-bye" he said, before he turned back and started to pad off.
-
Echoingvoice watched wide eyed for a moment as Sootfur crossed the border. Then she came back. "Wait what? Your leaving? Why? You cant," she mewed frantically and ran to his side.
-
Sootfur stopped as she came to his side. "I think it's time that I have too" he said. "I've suffered a lot in this clan, and obviously it hasn't done me any favors from what you've learned. I'm sure some pseudoclan will take me in. Hopefully then I can let go of my past"
-
Echoingvocie looked at Sootfur sadly. "Then let me come with you," she was surprised that the words had come form her mouth. But she kept on going. "I mean. No one here likes me any ways. And I cant let you just wander around alone. What if your attacked or something. I mena like outnumbered. You need someone else to go with you."
-
"Then if that happens, I will finally have my peace" Sootfur replied. "If you go with anyone, it should be Tawnytail" he pointed out as some of his memory was coming back. "He is a strong and noble warrior and has already proven he will protect you against anything. Something I can't do"
-
Echoingvocie was surprised Tawnytail had been brought up. "I cant ever be with him though. Hes in a different clan. It wouldnt be the same," she mewed sadly and looked at Sootfur.
-
"I'm no longer in the same clan either, and your willing to follow me" Sootfur said then just shook his head. "I don't understand why you choose to follow me after all I've put you through" he said.
-
Echoingvoice didnt know how to answer. She didnt really know why either. Then it came to her, clear as day. "Because all my life I have followed and stayed loyal to my heart. If I stop now, my hole life has been fake," she mewed honestly.
-
Did that mean her heart choose him? Why? It confused Sootfur more than anything else in his life. He sighed, but still didn't try to stop her. "Do what you must" was his only reply before he carried on his way away from Shadowclan.
-
Echoingvoice looked behind her. At everything she had know. Could she really leave for this tom that had hated her? That might still hate her. She didnt know. So she didnt move for a moment, jsut watched as Sootfur padded off.
-
Sootfur didn't even give her a second glance. He didn't want her to follow him to her death. The grey tom knew that was what would eventually happen to him, and he didn't want that for her. She was a sweet cat that deserved better.
-
"Im sorry Sootfur. I cant. But come back to me," Echoingvocie called and ran away from the sight of the tom. She ran from everything. Her confused thoughts about him. What had happened when he was unstable. Well he was always unstable. She realized that was why he had been like he was. Something about his past had made him hard to get close to. If only he had stayed, but Echoingvocie wouldnt go with Sootfur. SHe needed to stay in the clan. She hadnt realized ehr paws had caried her to the Riverclan border.
-
Amazingly, Tawnytail had waited by the border. He had a feeling Echoingvoice would be back and wasn't surprised when her pelt came into view. He stood to his paws and waited for her to get closer before giving a greeting.
-
Echoingvoice came to the border and sighed deeply. Her life was really confusing now wasnt it. Oh well. Something told ehr she would see Sootfur again. Or at least she hopped she would. Then as her gaze drifted up, her eyes spotted Tawnytail. A smile instantly was palstered on her face. "Hi," she mewed happily.
-
"Hello" he greeted. "Your friend made it back to camp alright?" He asked, concerned. It was obvious that Tawnytail didn't have anything against Sootfur and their fight and was actually caring.
