A massive white bulk tread lightly through the forest, the white tail behind it dipped over the ground gently. A pink nose quivered as it scented the air. Yellow eyes scanned the forest, but they only saw snow. Tufted ear tips swiveled around, always detecting. All of the sudden, the white feline lunged to the right, landing on a shriveled up shrew that only managed to let out a tiny squeak. Whitestar buried the shrew immediately and started the process all over again.

  • The gray and white medicine was in her den sorting herbs. Naming each one as she did so, "Goldenrod, horsetail, juniper, sorrel..." ailed off and started mumbling. She picked up the broad sorrel leaves and placed them in her store then her juniper berries also.

Wildflower and Ebonyscar were bickering over a piece of prey while Goldenlily washed her long ginger fur, "Does it really matter who eats it?" She asked her littermates who yowled in unison, "Yes!" Goldenlily rolled her eyes.

  • Cougarstrike glanced at the bickering over food by warriors and contained a growl within himself, though the look of dissapointed disgust was not so well hidden. Food was scarer than before now- if they wanted to make it through all of this cold wet leaf-bare they couldn't be fighting over food. Especially when the rank they shared wasn't even the first in line for it. That they should fight over a peice of prey, additionally, and not choose to go out and hunt more seeing as both of them were planning on depleteing the rations, was nearly unacceptable. But instead of complaining, he decided to take action and headed out to hunt himself. Ducking out of the entrance, the tall muscular sandy tom's vivid blue eyes scanned around, and he leapt of into the shadows to find a prize.

  • Cottonwind stuck her head out of her den, looking for a warrior to help her gather herbs. It was hard to do this herself, she needed an apprentice. But she could wait until newleaf where many more kits were to be born. "Are there any free warriors?" She called and waited for an answer.

  • Cougarstrike looked over his shoulder, glancing at the medicine cat,

"If you're coming, make haste." He said simply in a voice that always seemed to have a commanding tone, even when he was being polite, before turning back and slipping out of camp.

  • Cottonwind rolled her eyes at Cougerstrike and followed him out, "I hope you don't mind helping me collect herbs. I need cobwebs, more sorrel, borage, poppy seeds and catmint." She mewed and padded beside the sandy yellow tom. "We defnatly need more catmint, I don't doubt that greencough will come this leafbare and I want to be prepared." She thought for a moment, "Maybe we can find some honey to soothe sore throats and maybe some chervil for upset tummies and some tansy. Got all that?"

  • "I did." Cougarstrike said curtly, never having turned from where he kept a brisk, almost pounding pace out into the territory.

"While I hunt, should I come across any of your herbs, I shall procure them for you."

IC:.: Marshclaw had been sitting near the fresh-kill pile, organizing patrols. "Wildflower, Ebonyscar, if you are going to bicker over a piece of prey, neither of you shall get it. You three will go on the dawn patrol with me." He said stubbornly. "We will patrol the RiverClan and ShadowClan borders." The brown tabby tom hoped to see his sister, the last time he had seen her and her kits was at the gathering.

  • Wildflower grabbed the piece of prey from her brother and stuck her tongue out at him. She then nodded to Marshclaw, showing she had heard him along with her littermates. Goldenlily pushed her siblings aside and nodded at the deputy before scolding Wildflower and Ebonyscar who seemed terrified of her.

  • Cougarstrike decided to escort Cottonwind to wherever she was deciding to stop before he headed off on his own. He, therefore, let her lead for the time being, keeping a weather eye out for anything dangerous or fortuitous.

IC:.: Marshclaw had began to pad out of camp. He immediately turned towards the RiverClan border, and was there within a few minutes. He knew Wolfheart liked to come out in the morning and watch the river. After patroling some of the border, the patrol came across stepping stones. On the opposite shore he seen Wolfheart dragging Ripplewhisker to shore and wrestling him. "Wolfheart!" He called, "What are you doing?!" He bounded forward onto a stepping stone.

  • Goldenlily, Wildflower and Ebonystrike followed Marshclaw. Wildflower and Ebonyckaw were bickering n and Goldenlily was growling at them angrily, telling them to calm down and to shut up but soon she was added into the bickering.the hree didn't notice the Riveraclan warriors.

Cottonwind padded around, looking for some sorrel. She spotted some and dashed over to the leafy plant. Cottonwind started collecting as much as she could carry, "Cougarstrike, grab me some beech leaves." She instructed.

  • Cougarstrike watched the smaller cat run across him to one plant or another with lazy eyes. She called for beech leaves and he turned away from her padding off. Once he saw them, he pulled out a half a dozen leaves and drug them back to the med cat.

"I'll head off. If I find something, I will deliver it to you presently." And he turend to leave.

  • Cottonwind nodded and started to wrap the sorrel in the beech leaves. She made sure every leaf wasn't rotten or folded bybaccadent. She folded the Blbeech leaf very carefully.

  • Cougarstrike got right on the hunt, wasting no time or energy in the act. The first peice he felled was a mouse, and not long after a chipmunk. He was feeling pretty good so he went after a lark in a tree next. It got away, as he thought it might, but he did find a bee hive. He buried his prey peices and brought some honey comb back to Cottonwind, doing his best not to eat any of it.

  • Cottonwind looked over at Cougarstrike and beamed, "Honey! Perfect, thank you!" She took it and placed it in a seprate leaf, "Did you get stung?" She asksd while she was folding the honeycomb careful not to crush the wax or let any of the honey leak out. She grabbed another leaf and double wrapped it just to make sure.

  • Cougarstrike shook his head, smacking his chops and getting the sticky golden residue off,

"Perhaps they were all away." He suggested. He then nodded to her, turned and headed off again. He managed to catch a vole by the river though it was scraggly and would do little to fill even an apprentice. Still, a catch was a catch so he burried it. While by the river he noticed a patch of herbs. He couldn't remember what it was called but he began gathering it anyway.

  • Cottonwind found some juniper berries. She placed the tiny round blue herbs in a septate leaf. Placing as much as she could andrunning after the ones that rolled away like a mother did to an escaping kit. She scolded the berries then laughed at herself before going back to collecting them.

  • Eventually Cougarstrike returned and lowered a mouthfull of whatever the herb was,

"I found this near the river- is it usefull?" He asked, someone automotonic, though there was some obvious humanity in it, though he stood straight and tall back up as he usually did, looking the stern soldier he always did.
