{Now listen up, I wrote this because I want everyone to know that this kitten could have been saved, if it was just taken care of. It's a shame we couldn't save it. And, yes it is a real story}
I was just a kitten then, when I was first thrown into this big brown box with my siblings, and then dumped on the road without our mum. We didn't know what to do, it was all so scary. Why would our people abandon us like this? What happened to our mommy?
We soon figured out there was a little hole in the box, big enough for us to escape the death trap. We all scattered in different directions, and I headed into the forest by some houses. I ate good for the first few days, because these nice people put some food out for me, but I never let them get close to me. I didn't want my heart to be broken again.
But that was until I decided to go into the corn field, that was in front of the houses. I made a bad decision. As soon as I ran across the street, a car came along. It grabbed me by my tail, and as I tried to run, it tore the skin off my hindlegs. Flies instantly surrounded me, and I couldn't feel my tail. I tried to move it, and didn't work.
As soon as I could I bolted to the safety of under a row of pine trees, and the people who fed me came along, and heard my meowing. They tried to out me in a cage, I didn't know why. I ran. I ran as fast as I could, back to the woods, and saw as they put a shine metal trap out with food in it.
But I didn't go it. It might be poison, I told myself, even though I was really hungry. I wanted to go in, but still I didn't, and I went back to the pine trees, with a broken tail and broken hindleg, with flies beginning to lay their eggs on my wounds. I hurt so bad, and that was when I cam apon this garage.
I went in the door, but someone shut it on me. I ran and hid behind some boards. But soon, many people were in the room with a cage. They finally grabbed me by the scruff and put me in, much to my distress. I didn't know what they would do.
They put my in a red car, and then we zoomed down the road for some time. We finally went to a place called FFRC. I didn't know what they would do, so I hissed when the lady tried to get me out, even though she got me out anyway. She checked me over, said that I was in very bad shape, with maggots in my woulds and that my tail needed to be removed.
But then she said some words, that made the little girl with blonde hair who fed me everyday cry. "He has to be put down." I didn't know what that meant. But she put me back in the cage, and all I could hear was crying. Crying, sobbing, tissue blowing.
But then I felt sleepy. I rested my head in the cage, and finally I just went.. goodbye. I wish that girl didn't have to cry, but I'm in a better place now.
The same day I was buried in the girl's yard, in the place where they first saw me. They dug a hole, put me in, and covered it. But then I smiled for the first time, when the girl put my marker on my hole. It said 'You've left my life, but you haven't left my heart.'
And from then on, I smiled forever. And now, I'm in heaven, and I can't wait for my little girl to come see me again. She even named me, and now I am known as Arden, keeper of the forest.
