  • Tornear bore down on the rabbit quickly, his fangs catching the rabbit's neck. With a growl of triumph, he hurriedly ripped out the throat of the rabbit. "Look at the size of this thing!!" He admired, eyes gleaming.

  • Duskfeather purred. "It's huge!" She agreed, happy with their good fortune. Looking up into Tornear's amber eyes, she meowed, "Do you want to head back now?" Any more prey would be rather hard to carry back... But at the rate we're going at, the fresh-kill pile would be filled before sun-high!

  • Tornear nodded and clenched the rabbit in his teeth, leading the way back to their other caught prey. "It's times like these I know StarClan's smiling down on us from above." He sighed, whisking his tail through a pile of dead leaves.

  • "Yeah," Duskfeather purred in agreement. "If life were like this every day..." She nuzzled Tornear, and then headed back to where they'd buried the other prey.

  • After they had collected all the prey, they headed back to camp. Mottlefur greeted them. "Oh, StarClan, wow! That's a giant rabbit!" She praised, gazing warmly at her father.

  • Mottle fur nodded happily and Tornear replied, "Of course! Just let me put the rest of the fresh-kill on the pile." He scooped up the other prey and dropped it on the pile, returning to them quickly.

  • "If you insist." He agreed, sitting down and taking a small bite of the rabbit. "Oh, StarClan, this is good! Have some, you two!" He praised. "Duskfeather, you go ahead." Mottlefur said politely, dipping her head.

  • "Not gonna argue with you on that!" She mewed, leaning down and taking a bite. By her purr, Tornear could tell she enjoyed it. "I bet this is a sign from StarClan that this will be an easy Leaf-bare." Tornear decided, looking into the sky, and silently purring his thanks to their warrior ancestors.

  • "Yes," Duskfeather agreed. Leaf-bare... It seemed so far away and so at the same time.
OOC: What should happen next? Can Duskfeather be expecting Tornear's kits?

  • OOC: Yeah, I was actually thinking that should happen soon. I also have another character I'm going to put in soon afterwards, because I had a good idea for when that happens.

IC: A wave of cold air swept past them. Tornear fluffed out his fur and huddled closer to Duskfeather. He relished her warmth, rubbing his cheek against hers.

  • OOC: Okay...

IC: Duskfesther purred, and pressed closer to Tornear as well. The wind still ruffled her fur, but the silvery-gray she-cat didn't mind.

  • OOC: So, do you want to do a time-skip to either when Duskfeather finds out she's pregnant, or a little before the kits are born?

IC: They sat there huddled for what seemed like a short time, but before Tornear knew it, the sky was changing color. The sun made the sky a pale orange in its current position. It would be night soon.

  • OOC: Hmm... To when Duskfeather finds out that she's pregnant?

IC: Duskfeather looked up as well, and indeed, the sun was setting. Time passes quickly... She thought to herself, not for the first time within this short moon.

  • OOC: All righty then.

IC: Tornear didn't want to, but he managed to force himself to stand up. "We should probably head to the Den..." He murmurred, glancing up at the sky again.

  • Duskfeather nodded in agreement, and stood up slowly, reluctantly. Reaching the warriors' den after the short yet long walk, she settled into her nest. Then, apprehensive, and full of fear of the unknown shadows of the future, Duskfeather closed her golden eyes.

    {timeskip to the morning that Duskfeather finds out she's expecting kits...}

  • Tornear opened his eyes slowly, stretching. It was a cold Leaf-bare morning. He fluffed out his fur and stood up. He looked over at Duskfeather's nest, and saw she was still resting. He smiled, nuzzling her neck softly and walking out, over to the fresh-kill pile.

  • Duskfeather awoke a while later, and headed outside, thinking to find Tornear. Instead though, she turned, and padded into the medicine den for a quick visit and hopefully a remedy for a bellyache she'd been getting lately.
However, when she came out, Duskfeather was more nervous and worried than when she had gone in. Excited too. Now, she leaped over to Tornear, paws thudding on the ground, wondering how exactly to say what she had learned.
