Paradisefalls lay in his nest staring at the blank wall of his den. It had only been a few days since he had escaped his captors and his injures were still pretty bad. A few of them were even infected, but Indencre had gone missing and Divinitapaw was no longer his apprentice. Despite his sorry state he had to look after the clan still and he was exhausted. He flicked his bushy white tail around him before flicking it away simply out of boredom. All his time had been spent looking after the clan and treating his own injures. When he wasn't doing that he was collecting herbs or resting.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px][size=8]Of course Homekit would help if she could and when she could, but her inability to even see made it hard to diagnose things to begin with. Her one wish wasn't to see or, just for a day, form some image of the real world in her head. Rather reunite with her family and feel the first taste of acceptance in her life since birth. It was then that she felt warm-- in her mother's womb. Soon after the one comfort she held dear to her life went cold, she went numb, and everything else around her spiraled downhill. Nonetheless the young snow bengal gave her very best, crooked smile each and every day, chin up high. It was she could do, anyway.
Feeling her way around by scuffling her paws and keeping herself low to the ground, she found her way to the famous medicine den. Here and there bits of colors leaked into her view but she had to disregard it; there was no hope. It was since birth that the silver-ivory eyed kit had been without vision and thus had to give up. The Sight was the only sort of eye connection she had, but even then they were orbs. Floating essence for lack of a better term.
Slipping into Para's home she perked her ears for any sign of life present. A quiet breath off to the right let her know it was indeed occupied, and so with no hesitation, Homekit murmured, "Mister Paradise, are you home?" It was him alone she could trust not to be judged by. Div and Incendre didn't seem to be the types of cats to like her, for some reason, and the assistants just the same. Although one of the Medicine Cat Apprentices were demoted, she supposed they wouldn't let it change them for the worse. You could always fight back to be repromoted, right?

Paradisefalls' gaze flicked to the entrance of the den but he didn't lift his head. "Yes, come on in," he said still not getting up. He didn't want to unless there was an emergency of some sort and he was needed. Watching Homekit he couldn't help but be reminded of his own kits. They were nearly warriors now and his mate was gone. That had all been a mistake but one he and Periwinkle had decided not to punish the kits on for something they had done. His kits had known their parents despite both of them being med cats.
He wondered why there was such a rule against having kits. In the end it had made him more sensitive and caring about others, especially kits. He watched as Homekit entered, he hadn't met her before, at least she wasn't all that familiar to him. "What is your name?" he asked.
-
[fancypost borderwidth=0px][size=8]Who was she, really? Her sister, Worldkit, always told her she was something great. Special, even if she couldn't see. That not knowing what was right in front of you for it's appearance was more gift than she'd ever understand. The young Homekit wasn't always positive what it meant or how to interpret it but she thanked her lucky stars she had any family at all, even if her litter mate was in WindClan.
The question lingered all around her head and made her tongue dry. Nevertheless she puffed her little chest out and parted her maw to speak, "My name's Homekit. Sorry if I trip over something or bump into you, just an apology in advance," The feeble snow bengal bowed her head with respect, tip toeing closer to the Medicine Cat. She had heard his voices a few times prior to this, scampering by the Medicine den or something along the lines. Whether this was Paradise or Incendre, or even Divinitapaw, it was beyond her. Should she perhaps return the favor of inquiry and ask him his name as well? The timid kitten was weighing her options before finally caving and asking, "What's your name sir?" Oh well, no harm done, right?
-
Paradisefalls watched the kit. She must have been listening to his voice to know where he was because she didn't seem to be blind, but her words made him wonder. Why else would a kit bump into things? He picked up a twig near him and tossed it to the left of Homekit, it made no sound until it landed with a light thump. He frowned watching her reaction realizing the most likely cause of it, blindness. To be born blind, to never see all the beauties around them. He once would've pitied such a cat but doing so before had been a grave mistake. Indencre had been a similar case that he'd pitied but he'd shown that it wasn't your lack of abilities that made one important or useful.
"I'm Paradisefalls, the medicine cat here in SnowClan. What brings you to me den," he said. "Oh and don't worry about tripping over anything. The main area is clear of any debris." He couldn't work in a messy den so he took care to keep it clean.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px][size=8]Homekit always tried to make the best of what she had, like sense of smell and hearing. The twig to her right, his left, tapped the ground oh so very lightly. Because she relied on such senses it seemed louder than most would catch themselves. Rather than inquire she supposed it was nothing to worry about. Paradisefalls was trustworthy she hoped and wouldn't play any tricks on her, or tease her for being blind. The others tended to exclude her and leave her alone in times she needed someone most, "It's nice to meet you Paradise sir."
Shuffling a bit closer, she again hoped she wouldn't bump into anything. The sound of his warm voice drew her closer every time and she couldn't help but find it comforting. It was a need to be closer to him, since no one ever let her in to their lives. She couldn't blame them-- why would anyone want to befriend such a nuissance?
The high white kitten took in everything he said with constantly twitching ears, being careful as to what she would reply with. What indeed brought her here? Lack of comfort and self confidence perhaps. Nevertheless she spoke boldly but not bubbling, just to show she wasn't as feeble as the disability made her out to be, "Oh, a clean den is always good. I came because I was just wondering if anyone here would want to chat? No one in the nursery likes to talk to me," The sightless she kit flattened her ears sheepishly and instinctively. She could only imagine what he was doing or responding with behind the scenes. Her worst enemy was expressions after all, and not being able to read anyone besides detecting something in their voice? All it did was make it harder.
