    " we have no kits of yours here. You need to get off our territory, now!" The Tom growled.

    "Okay, " she meowed. " we're going. Sorry for trespassing. It has been a longtime since I smelled ShadowClan."
    The tom grunted, but didn't reply. He only escorted Poppydapple and Rosefur off his territory.

    "Where should we look next? It must be a place far enough away from the pine trees

    "Can I come!" Lashingkit pounced over onto Poppydale. (Can she be her mother)

    occ. Red: what's your name going to be? Lashingpaw: Poppydapple doesn't have a mate, but you can be Petaltail's kit. Youre sibling is Moonkit, Lashingpaw.

    "I don't know, Rosefur. We can search over there. I wonder how long the kits have been gone for. I feel so sorry for Crystalcloud," she mewed sadly.

    "me, too. But, let's keep looking. We don't want her to lose both her kits on the same day." Poppydapple and Rosefur walked through a large grove of trees and stopped when they heard a strange sound.
    "What was that?" Rosefur looked around to see if there were any kits around, but there were none,.

    "I don't know. Is it the kits?" she meowed.

    "We should go. It might not be safe. We don't want to risk getting-" Rosefur stopped abruptly.

    Poppydapple didn't wait for Rosefur to speak.
    "It's the Windclaw!" she shrieked. "Hurry!"
    They ran past ShadowClan territory and the abandoned Twoleg nest.


    Panting, they finally made it back to their territory.
    "We're safe," Poppydapple meowed when they reached the place where they were sheltering. "That was close."

    "Yeah," Rosefur breathed a sigh of relief and sat down in the closest makeshift nest.

    Happily, Poppydapple flopped down next to her littermate.
    "Did you find the kits?" she lloked up. Crystalcloud and Bramblestar loomed above her.

    "No," Rosefur broke in. "We saw the Windclaw."
    When she said that, Bramblestar just about fell over. "It's still out there?" he asked.

    "Yes," she meowed. "Unfortunately."
    "My kits!" wailed Crystalcloud. The she-cat threw her head back and cried to StarClan.

    "Shhh....," whispered Rosefur and she wrapped her tail around her friend. "It'll be okay. we'll find your kits."

    Poppydapple was touched by how sweet her littermate was being. "We'll find them," she added.

    Crystalcloud remained silent, as she broke from Rosefur's grip and padded back to her nest.

    Poppydapple sighed. Crystalcloud's kits might be dead and there was hardly any hope left.

    Feeling worn out, Rosefur curled up in her nest and went to sleep.
    "What's that smell?" she gasped.
    "It's the smell of a rotting forest," a ginger-and-white she-cat meowed. "Welcome to the Dark Forest."
    "The Dark Forest? Mapleshade?" ROsefur asked. She was going to say more, but she felt a terrible stinging sensation in her ear.
    "Got you!" Mapleshade growled. "Fight me!"
    "Ahhh!"cried Rosefur, waking up.
