• I'm curious as to see what people like to read and/or what they're reading these days. ^^

Do you have a favorite book? If not, do you have a group of favorites? A favorite series?

I love the Gone series, by Michael Grant. They are so full of action that they're pretty much impossible to put down once you've started reading them. xD And there are so many plot twists that are just so seamless that I have no idea how Michael Grant did it.

I can't possibly describe all of them perfectly, so I'll list them. <3
    {The Maze Runner series
    {The Mortal Instruments
    {The Scorpio Races
    {The Immortal Nicholas Flammel Series[/fancypost]

    [/fancypost]

  • I've heard of the Gone series but I've never actually read it. It sounds good the way you describe it though, Fang. :)

And Saphira, I've read the first book of the Maze Runner series but I haven't read any of the others - although I've heard a lot about The Mortal Instruments series.

  • Honestly? I've probably got over a hundred favorites. If I had to choose, though:
    [no particular order]

The Ranger's Apprentice & The Brotherband Chronicles - Two series by John Flanagan

The Young Samurai & Bodyguard - two series by Chris Bradford

The Laws of Magic series - Michael Pryor

Crown Dual and the sequal, Court Dual - I forget who wrote them.

I also especially like The Clockwork Legacy, and I can't remember off the top of my head who wrote it.

I could give you tons more, but I'll stop listing them now

  •
    Um, I have a few because I can't decide.

    -Divergent
    -Daughter of Smoke and Bone
-Eragon (I've only read the first one but I love it.)

  • Seekers and Shark Wars

Dunno why. I've read more complicated series before yet these two I enjoy the most.

  • I've yet to read the Seekers series but I enjoyed the original series, and I've never heard of Shark Wars (though I do like sharks).

The Harry Potters are good. c: Haven't read Maximum Ride yet though.

I loved the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - all of the books. I don't really know most of my favorites - there are so many!

  • [fancypost bgcolor= # bordercolor=# borderwidth= 0px; width: 400px; overflow: auto; width: 300px; height: 100px;]I love the GONE Series by Michael Grant :)

It includes 6 books, Gone, Hunger, Lies, Plague, Fear and Light. And if you like supernatural powers and teenagers, then I highly suggest the series.[/fancypost]

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px]My favorite series is "Fablehaven" by Brandon Mull. It's a five book fantasy/magical series.

  • Have you read the Candy Shop Wars by the same author, Koronos? They're pretty good too, though the second book leaves you on a sort of cliffhanger.

  • Wow, there's so much I need to read xD

I recently read Animal Farm and I really liked it. I'm not sure it's an absolute favorite, but I still love how the moral was portrayed with animals on a farm - it's a great piece of classic literature.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px]Of course. c:

The only problem I have with the book is how much detail Mull goes into the race of the characters and the characters when they change. xD

Brandon Mull visited my school, though, so that's why I'm obsessed with his books. c:

  • Okay - prepare for all my fav books xD

    -Eragon series
    -Harry Potter
    -Hunger Games
    -Divergent
    -House of the Scorpion
    -Sea of Trolls
    -All Nancy Farmer books
    -Pendragon

And a bunch of random other books xD

  • Have you guys ever read the Percy Jackson book series? That's one that I really liked reading through. I loved some of the humor and the characters adapting to the modern day scenario was really cool.

  • [fancypost bgcolor= # bordercolor=# borderwidth= 0px; width: 400px; overflow: auto; width: 300px; height: 100px;]I love the GONE Series by Michael Grant :)

    I love you.

That's my favorite series too. xD

If you don't mind gore and death and action, those are all rather common. And it is extremely descriptive in some parts -- especially in Light, the last one. I actually cried when I finished Light, because I had no idea what to do with my life now that I'd finished the series. xD

  • Oh boy. I can't pick a favorite xD

Legend of the Guardians (Owls of Ga'Hoole)
    Harry Potter
The Hannibal Series (Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal Rising)
    The Loch
Hunger Games (Up to book 2. Book 3 wasn't good in my opinion)
    The Chronicles of Narnia
The Lord of the Rings (and the Hobbit)

I really wanna read Game of Thrones and Mortal Instruments xD

  • I LOVED the Hobbit and I'm working on the Lord of the Rings series - to me, the writing was amazing and I think they were beautifully told books.
