  • ooc: yup Silentstripe is gray.

ic: Silentstripe had just stood there seething in anger as he watched the rouges retreat wanting little more than to rip them apart. He would have given chase had Willowflare not been present. Then came the words that chilled him to the bone, "Redwillow's dead." His tail went limp and his body just froze, a pained expression on his face as his eyes filled with tears. Soon his grief was overcome by rage, and his fur began to stand on end. Slowly he began padding in the direction the rouges fled intent on one thing, slaughter.

  • "Hunting my prey." Silentstripe mewed in a tone searing with anger. "Every last one of them will die." He would not let this escalate any further they had gone too far. With that one carrying their dead comrade it would leave an easy trail to follow.

  • "Though I'm new to this, I know that the warrior code says to show mercy on your enemies. They didn't, so must you be as cruel? They lost one, we lost one. But it wasn't even one of your own. It was one of ours, and the blue-gray cat was killed in return. And must WindClan lose a cat too?" Whaletooth continued. "It would be four to one. You dying would not be what Redwillow would want."

  • Silentstripe halted very suddenly and turned to face Whaletooth, his eyes still burning with rage as he glared at the Wolfclanner. "I have no intention of dying to these rouges. I will pick them off one by one as slowly as I need to. Mercy is to be shown to those of other clans who respect the warrior code not these merciless rouges." Silentstripe mewed in a dark and icy tone very uncharacteristically. "I will not suffer further because the clans are unwilling to hunt these pieces of fox dung down and end their wretched existence."

  • "You must speak to him," Spottedpelt whispered to Willowflare.
    ***
Whaletooth hissed, "If every Clan thought like that, Redwillow wouldn't have died here today by rogues, she would've been killed by your Clan, or any Clan! I wouldn't be here either, let alone the rest of WolfClan." His tone softened. "Killing and revenge is not the way to go!"

  • Wordlessly Willowflare leaped infront of Silentstripe. Her light blue eyes burned into his pelt, her eyes not giving away the anger and grief she felt inside. "Silentstripe," she began, a hint of fiery anger in her voice, along with soothing sympathy. "No. Your not going anywhere. We live by the warrior code. And it says to have mercy on your opponents." She meowed fiercly. Her tone gre quiet as she added, "It took you a long time to earn any amount of respect you have in this clan. If you do this you may lose it. Redwillow was our friend. I grieve for her too. But we are not her clanmates, you would be acting out of place." She continued. "And if you still insist on going after those rouges... then you will have to go through me to get them. The rouges have learned their lesson, and they are grieving now too."

  • Silentstripe's ire deflated as Willowflare talked him down, everything she said was true but it hardly made it easier to hold himself back. When she said he would have to go through her however, he knew he couldn't force his way past her without hurting her. "You of all people know how much this pains me." He mewed in a low voice sounding defeated. "I can't take it anymore, I've watched bloodthirsty rouges like that take far to much while I'm powerless to stop them." He was crying as he spoke his grief overtaking his anger while he talked. The fact that his last words to Redwillow was to forget him felt like a claw piercing his chest. "They've learned their lesson?" He asked rhetorically in an icy voice "I doubt that, they'll keep coming back and killing more until we've annihilated them."

  • "But we won't let them kill us," Whaletooth meowed. "I'll ask Lightstar to speak about it at the Gathering, and maybe you could ask Gravelstar? They can figure something out. If other Clans have trouble, maybe we can band together and stop them before this gets worse. But you can't stop them by yourself. Don't think that this is it. We will avenge Redwillow, but not right away and in a different way. Trust us, we are grieving to. But let's not lose our heads."

  • Silentstripe turned an icy stare to Whaletooth. "The clans would never band together over a group of rouges, and even when this is brought to our leaders attention they will do little more than strengthen our patrols as they have always done." He mewed frustrated that he would have to stand idly by again as the clans did little to deal with the rouges. "Their next attack will be far more precise than this, and they will most likely be in a larger group. I expect casualties regardless of who they attack and you should too."

  • "Silentstripe, I tried to be nice." Whaletooth was becoming frustrated. "But even if you 'pick them off slowly one by one,' they will still kill you. And if Redwillow died, I'm sure Lightstar will take it more seriously. If Gravelstar doesn't, then Lightstar will convince him or ally with another Clan having trouble with the rogues, although I'm sure Gravelstar will act. But fine, go think of yourself instead of your Clan and get yourself killed. It's obvious that I can't stop you."

  • Willowflare's tempter cooled down. "Yes, out of all cat's I do know." She murmured. She lifted her light blue gaze and looked from Silentstripe to Whaletooth. "Rouges have always been a trouble to the clans." She began. "They are heartless and have no honor. Taking them on like you want to, Silentstripe... the only thing that would do is get you killed." She meowed. "I'm sure Gravelstar will agree to help Lightstar with the trouble caused by this band of rouges. However, Silentstripe is right at one point. They will attack again, but with a larger group. That is assured." She continued, her blue gaze gave nothing away. "So we could send out a group of two to three cats to follow the rouges, if we speak to Gravelstar about this now, Silentstripe and I. If we locate the camp, then we could attack them, both Wolfclan and Windclan if both leaders agree, and force them to stop attacking our cats." Willowflare meowed thoughtfully. "Negotiating with those rouges, trying to atleast, will most likely not work. However, most of the Wolfclan cats were rouges before, so you all will know what it is like for the rouges. In that case, you could work out more accurate plans then us, Clan cats, can." She finished. The she-cat did know quite a bit more about rouges then clan born cats would, considering she was born a loner, and had much experience with rouges. However, she said nothing about it, and figured that Wolfclan working out plans for the rouges would be better than her working things out. She had been in the clans for many moons, and she probably thought more like a clan cat than a traveling loner now.

  • "You're plan works well, but we're all injured," Whitefur pointed out.
    ***
"Spottedpelt, Brackentail, you can come with me," Whaletooth meowed. "We'll follow them as far as they're camp, to make sure that they haven't moved camps. WindClan, try not to miss any detail. Ask Gravelstar to bring a patrol to our camp. Lightstar and him could speak."
    ***
"The Gathering's tonight, though," Whitefur meowed.
    ***
"Very well." Whaletooth sighed in relief. WindClan didn't have to visit WolfClan's new, a bit unfinished, camp. "I'll tell Lightstar to speak of it at the Gathering."

  • Willowflare nodded. "Alright." She meowed, dipping her head. She turned to Silentstripe. "Let's go." She meowed softly, and nudged him towards the Windclan border. Redwillow's death did not help Silentstripe much, nor did it help the rouges. She suddenly felt as if she left her mate's side, he would do as he said he would and chase after the rouges. She twitched her ears, and she suddenly felt enraged. Silentstripe, and her, had lost enough to the rouges already. How dare they kill yet another cat that Silentstripe cared about!? Her light blue eyes darkened, her anger threatening to swallow her up like a wave. Those rouges will pay, they will regret what they have done today, I swear!

  • Bushrose bounded over to her sister, violet eyes sparkling. "Willowflare, I have the greatest news!" she began happily. The cream-and-white tortoiseshell stopped when she saw her sister's face. "What... What happened?"

  • Willowflare blinked and began walking. She quietly explained everything that happened from when they heard the battle going on, to when she headed back to camp. "I'm thinking we should join in with Wolfclan to drive away the rouges, but only if Gravelstar agrees." Willowflare meowed thoughtfully. "By the way, the good news?"

  • OOoc: hey just a little update while i have the chance. Im currently dogsitting and provably wont be able to get an actuall post in for another day or two

  • we'll try not to flood you :)
IC Bushrose's eyes widened. "Oh, Willowflare, that's terrible!" She sighed. "Well, I guess we could use good news. Mousegrass and I are mates."

  • Willowflare smiled lightly. "Really?" She replied, but it was not really a surprise, sinse Mousegrass had been trailing after her sister for moons. She predicted it would happen not long ago, and she was right. It seemed like her enthusiasm had been burned out, but she was still happy for her sister. "That's great."
