  • Fumbling out of the nest he shared with his mother, Nightkit padded out of the nursery. It was still rather early and dawn patrol had only recently been sent out. He wondered if any of the other kits were asleep, hoping at least one of them was awake. He was feeling playful, and the small tom wanted someone to enjoy the morning with.

  • Nightkit's ears twitched as he heard someone behind him. He turned, smiling when he saw Whitekit.

  • Nightkit's eyes twinkled mischievously. "We should go on our own dawn patrol," he suggested.

  • Nightkit grinned and led the way out of camp. It was still early so no cats noticed them leave. Once they were safely out, he turned to Whitekit. "Where should we go first?" he asked her.

  • Nightpaw lead the way, heading towards the lake. He liked that part of Thunderclan territory the best. As a kit, it was easy for him to get lost among the branches and bracken on the forest floor. The area surrounding the lake was much easier to navigate through. "Wanna race?" he asked confidently, eyes twinkling.

  • Nightkit smiled. "To the lake! Whoever wins can dare the loser to do something," he replied, getting excited.

  • Nightkit also got ready, smiling. "On your mark, get set, go!" he exclaimed, darting forward.

  • Nightkit laughed along with her, his adrenaline pumping. "You're gonna have to be faster than that!" he called out, pushing himself to go even faster.

  • Whitekit went as fast as she could, her back legs pushing as hard as they could. She was smiling. Whitekit knew she wouldn't win.

  • Nightkit reached the lake before her, and he turned triumphantly to face her. "You did good. I was worried there for a second," he remarked kindly.

  • Whitekit smiles. "Sure." she mews sarcastically, just as her mothers voice rings through the trees.
    "Whitekit! Nightkit!" she was yowling.

  • A vole ran for its life past Whitekit and Nightkit, followed by a sound of running paws. Seapaw ran after the vole, but instead found himsef crashing into Nightkit and Whitekit.

  • Nightkit's ears twitched when he heard Whitekit's mother. "Looks like we're being summoned," he said.
