Padding up to Mysticstar, the she-cat meowed politely, "Because Cypress has volunteered for the spot, does this mean I will continue as medicine cat?" She asked, tail flicking, but she kept her tone even and didn't reveal her thoughts.
    Marigoldpaw listened quietly as the meeting was called. She pricked her ears forward at the announement of the new maid position, but didn't cmment on anything. She would listen without interupption.

    Mysticstar shook her head, "I would appreciate it if, until one more queen is available, you would help Cypress in teaching and caring for the kits. Two heads is better than one, you know, and I very much need mine to do things like... Get our prisoners back, exact revenge on enemies, that kind of thing." here, she gently pushed her son toward Lurid- he may as well get to know his wetnurse sooner rather than later.

    Kiwanokit lay low, simply unsure of what to do. Orbs directing his gaze to Cypress, Kiwanokit stay rooted to the spot. Mouth clenched so he wouldn't burst out with a comment, and he was admittedly disappointed he couldn't spend more time with his busy parents. No matter, they had a clan to run, and Kiwano was proud of the fact.

    Andromeda turned to look at her brother and smiled. The mother of the two laid her tail across Artemis' shoulders and looked at her cubs with pride in her orbs of citrine light. "Meet me down at the tidepools after the meeting, OK?"

    That seemed fair to have kitting encouraged; the Clan was running quite low on kits. Curling her tail around her paws, the spy apprentice looked to the new Maid. "Congrats, Cypress," Maripaw meowed with a dip of her head.

    Observing Kiwanokit with a sympathetic gaze, Clamatis identified the behavior as longing. It was true that direct descendants of leaders wouldn't get to spend much time with their parents, but Mysticstar was trying hard; everyone could see it. Between planning to exact revenge, dealing with politics, and leading a Clan, there wasn't much time left for the mother to interact with her kits. That is precisely why the silver cinnamon swirled tabby thought the Maid position was perfect for this point in TidalClan's history-to-be.

    Brokenpaw stared at the ceremonies with obvious disinterest. After all, no cat would really feel happy about other cats becoming promoted and becoming warriors when he was still stuck as an apprentice.

    "Yeah, who's it gonna be mom?" Added Melonkit, who scampered up, right behind her sister, late as well. It seemed like she was always late for everything! Meetings, announcements, etc, anything that involved the whole Clan coming together to do something together. This sucked, she never got to hang out with Mysticstar, she was always to busy. Plus, Flucht was never around and didn't care about her and her siblings, so what was the point?

But sadly, that was the price you had to pay when your mother was the leader of your Clan. Mystic was always so busy, and wasn't around as often as Melon had hoped, but she was learning to deal with it so it wasn't as bad as she thought it was.

    Ore let out a quiet huff, tail flipping about. "I've never met Cypress," She whispered to no one in particular. "Is she nice?"
    The question was open to any cat who heard. Orangekit was pretty worried about whether or not her wet-nurse would be kind. I mean, who wants to hate who's going to be their foster mother?
    She turned to look at Clamatis on the stairs, eyes flashing with pride. They were related!
    At least, Ore thought they were.
    "Mom, is Clamatis related to us at all?"
    How awesome would that be? The Clan's heir could be related to her!

    Mysticstar had to pause a moment to think about the question. The family tree in Tidalclan was like a mass of twisting roots- was he related? Let's see... Clamatis was the son of Neversun and some rapist, right? And Neversun wasn't related to the royal line in any way except adoption by Twilightmoon. So... "No, dears, I don't think he is."
