  • Samuel didn't know how long he had been walking. The massive moose hung his head comfortably low, ambling slowly through the unfamiliar territory. This place was certainly strange, sand and trees and water all combined. The moose was slightly confused, in fact, with where he was.

Crosskit probably shouldn't have been out of camp, especially just after HawkClan had moved into their new territory. But he was. And the small black smoke with white already knew that he could easily count on his adorableness to get him out of any situation he encountered. He could've been the face on the magazine for the world's most innocent kits. This was great, of course. If there was ever a sticky spot, he could get away clean.

But, to be honest, this was not what he had originally been planning on encountering when he'd decided to explore the territory. He spotted Samual easily -- who wouldn't be able to spot a creature of that size? -- and his jaw literally dropped. Crosskit needed to figure out who this guy was. Bolting over, the tom ran in an arc, so that when he stopped, he was in front of Samuel and was facing the moose. "Um, hello?" he called out, trying to be loud. After all, this guy was like 50 times taller than him.

Seriously, he was tiny. Like, the-size-of-his-nose tiny. Well, maybe a bit bigger, but if it was it wasn't by much.

The massive male bowed his head until he was closer to the dark kitten in front of him. "Hello." He responded simply, his voice sounding very out of place, an average voice in a massive body. Perhaps it should have been deep, raspy, or gravelly, but instead it was a simple, clear, medium voice that was somewhat pleasant to listen to.[/fancypost]

The black smoke smiled broadly, as if honored that the moose had actually heard him. "What are you?" he inquired curiously, not aware of the fact that that question was rather rude and might offend the large creature in front of him. /mobile

[fancypost bgcolor=#A16326; bordercolor=#A16326; overflow: auto; width: 442px; height: 132px;]What was he? That wasn't the type of question Sam usually got, and it was actually kind of nice to hear it. Usually it was 'who are you' and 'what are you doing here'. Honestly, Sam liked the fact that this small cat wasn't trying to drive him off, and that it was just curious. "I'm a moose." He said, the simple statement sounded ridiculous. To him, that was like trying to explain the color blue to a blind creature. He was a moose. He just was.[/fancypost]

The kit nodded, gazing at Samuel. He was really big. Almost as tall as a tree, in Crosskit's mind. And he didn't have paws, or claws that extended from them either. Instead his feet were just big black-ish circle-shaped things. Hooves, he thought they were called. Of course, you could never be sure.

But what caught the black smoke with white's attention the most was Samuel's antlers. "Are -- Are those tree branches on your head?" he asked, incredulous. Was a moose just a big furry plant or something?

[fancypost bgcolor=#A16326; bordercolor=#A16326; overflow: auto; width: 442px; height: 132px;]Samuel made an odd humming, brooding noise that couldn't quite be explained by any words. "No, those are antlers." Apparently the groups didn't see much like him, as he'd been asked things like this a lot, especially by younger creatures. They all seemed interested in him, though some simply seemed afraid. It's not like the moose would actually crush them or something.[/fancypost]

The kit lifted a paw up to feel his own head. "Will I get antlers?" he questioned, trying out this new word for the first time ever. It would be so cool to have those. They would be like having two extra limbs, except you couldn't move them. But that was besides the point, of course.

Did the kit actually find those cool? To Sam, they were just there. Sometimes they were a good thing, sometimes they weren't. Most of the time, the only thing they managed to do was get themselves caught on branches and bushes. Though, once in a blue moon when Sam got in a fight, they were a good weapon. They broke when that happened.[/fancypost]

"Oh," Crosskit meowed softly, the expression on his face clearly crestfallen. If he didn't get antlers, then what did he get? He wanted tree branches on his head! Why couldn't he? Just because he wasn't a moose didn't mean that he wasn't allowed to have antlers. After all, he was a kit and he wasn't allowed out of camp, but here he was, smack-dab in the middle of the forested part of the territory with Samuel. Proving that rules were made to be broken.

[fancypost bgcolor=#A16326; bordercolor=#A16326; overflow: auto; width: 442px; height: 132px;]Sam smiled, finding it rather adorable that the kitten actually wanted antlers. He didn't think much of his, and there wasn't anything a cat had the he wanted. "Well, you could always try to find some." He laughed. Moose shed their antlers, and perhaps, if the kit was lucky, he could find some small ones and a way to put them on his head. The very idea had Sam laughing softly.

The thought of finding his own antlers wiped any sad looks off of Crosskit's face. "Really?" he meowed, voice an octave higher than usual because of his excitement. "Where?" The black smoke with white began to look around almost frantically, hoping to spot a pair of antlers just growing out of the ground or something. "Where did you find your antlers?" The kit questioned, looking up at Samuel for a second. If he found them nearby, then maybe there were more in that spot?

  • [font=georgia]Sam laughed again, a common occurrence around this kit. "I grow my antlers." He explained. "I shed them every winter or so, and grow more. You might find them around, if you're near a moose."

Crosskit continued to look around, before a wide smile brimmed on his face. The small kit raced over to a bush, and pulled out two branches that more or less resembled the shape of antlers. "These are my antlers!" the black smoke with white decided, nodding in his own self-confirmation.

  • [font=georgia]If only all cats were like this. He would like that. "I'm sure they'll work fine." Sam assured wit a smile.

Sam laughed, nodding his head slowly. "Of course. Now you just need a way to make them stay." He wasn't quite sure how it would be done, but there had to be a way for it to work.
