"We are a clan of honor, of dignity and respect. It is true we are kinder to ourselves then to our allies or enemies, but never has a clan been more loyal. Like the soul we will live forever and cling to whatever body has given us life. Until death. We are immortal. We are fierce. We are powerful. We are SoulClan."
— Forevernight, his first time addressing the clan as leader.
Introduction ❢
SoulClan is a very unique clan, a pro-clan that warships Hades and values souls. It is a clan formed strictly around their religious beliefs, something they would go to war for time and time again. They will tolerate allies with different religions, however those within their ranks had better be atheists or convert. Otherwise they will be killed, SoulClan is not forgiving when it comes to their beliefs.
They aren't as strict with those joining, however. The clan has no naming theme, clan, tribe, loner, whatever, all types of names are allowed. And they accept all manners of creatures: cats, dogs, rodents, birds, wildcats, etc. While they are accepting of other species however, it's best to watch your step. Not everyone is so open-minded.
Territory & Camp ❢
Along the reaches of Yellowstones great lake and onward towards the trees and valleys, SoulClan has marked it's reaches beneath the shadows of the mountain ranges.
The clans camp is sectioned at the top of a great hill, giving the group a view over the fields and water that cover the peninsula. Bordered by boulders and thorn bushes, great protection from outsiders who would be forced to climb or find the entrance. However the entrance is just as tricky, narrow and lined with the same thorns.
[li]THE SHERIFFS’ DEN
A large bounder stands in the center of camp, serving as a watchtower of sorts as well as a seat for the clan sheriff to hold meetings. At the base of this great stone a fairly sized den has been dug underneath it, a cool place that houses the clans sheriff. It is here they can be found more often then not.[/li]
[li]THE DOCTORS’ DEN
Alongside the back wall of camp rocks and branches have been set up to create a large den. Made with shelves for the doctors and nurses to store herbs, and big enough to hold many dens for the sick to rest. If ever you have an injury, here is the place to be.[/li]
[li]THE NURSERY
The most well protected of dens. It, like the sheriffs den, was dug beneath a boulder. A spacious den with enough room for the clans many queens and their kits. It rests next to the doctors den, furthest away from the camps entrance.[/li]
[li]THE ELDERS’ DEN
For those to old to provide for the clan. They live out a life of peace and respect in a small den alongside the camps wall.[/li]
[li]THE COPS’ AND ROOKIES’ DEN
These dens are by far the largest. Housing the clans more populated ranks. To the right of the camps entrance is a large den of rocks and branches, where the clans cops rest. Like with the Deputy, the Duke/ Duchess will sleep in the cops den. And to the left of the entrance is another den, where the clans rookies sleep.[/li]
Rules of the Soul ❢
Follow the chain of command. It goes as follows: sheriff > deputy > doctor > duke/duchess > elder > cop/queen > rookie/nurse > kit.
To disrespect your betters is disgraceful. You will be punished as seen fit by the high position you disrespected, weather it be death, exile, demotion, etc.
Disloyalty to the clan will result in your untimely death. To add onto this any slandering of our religion will result in worse then death. Your soul will be taken from you and given to Hades to roam the underworld forever.
During war no mercy is to ever be had on your enemy. We do not harm elders, kits, or queens [Windclan cats are the exception to this]. But you will kill any and all others that cross your path. To show mercy will be seen as a sign of disloyalty.
Rookies and Nurses cannot have kits. Not only is age a factor here but so is duty. If one is pregnant then they are not learning, meaning we will have one less cop. And we need as many cops as we can get, as soon as we can get them.
Be active.
High positions will be demoted as seen fit.
I will be keeping a list of all threads, that way I can keep up with post count. If you create a thread, private or otherwise, it needs to be PMed to me so I can add it to the list.
On another note threads need to be tagged 'soulnom'
I will not be mass PMing everyone meeting/activity threads. I will however post them up here and add them to the thread list. You need to be attentive and watch out for new clan threads. If you miss a meeting or activity check it's your fault your characters were demoted/taken from the list.
There is no form. No sign-up requirement. Just jump in and post. Backwritten or joining ic.
Don't ask to be a high position. Those will be chosen in character.
Politics ❢
Windclan. The cats of the moor are SoulClans sworn enemies. A hatred that helped form the clan under Forevernight's rule, and one that will last throughout the ages. Cats from this clan are to be killed on sight, no matter their age or gender.
Religion ❢
Hades, Greek god of the underworld, holds the clans highest respects and beliefs. And because Hades values souls above all other things, so does the clan. Which is why the sheriff is granted the ability to absorb souls, and others that can are highly respected [some even promoted to duke/duchess].
It is considered an honor to give ones soul to Hades, rather then die of old age or disease, and sacrifices are often held in the honor of the elders. Captured enemies are often sacrificed to their god as well, the clans hope such offerings will be rewarded with better weather or more prey.
Hades is father to four children, each revealing themselves in an animal form: Raven, Badger, Lion, and Snake. Each child represent the season in which they were born and their birth is celebrated on the first day of that season. Normally a large party is thrown, perhaps a battle is waged, or sacrifices given.
Traditions ❢
One of the clans more common traditions is practiced by kits. At six months these kits will be escorted by a cop into enemy territory, where, but itself, the kit must hunt down and kill an enemy cat. If successful they will take the body home, with the help of the cop, and be promoted to a rookie. Should the kit fail, however and lose it's life the cop is to return home with the kits body for burial.
While this next tradition isn't as common it is well known to the cats of the clan. For those who have killed a high position cat, have the body in their possession, and have been deemed worthy by the leader of the clan, they are gifted with The Mark. This mark varies, depending upon the season in which you were born, but is a symbol of the cats strong character and purpose.
[li]SUMMER SEASON
Those born under the season of summer, the Raven's season, will have one wavy line etched horizontally into their foreheads, with a circle above it. This symbol represents the cats cunning and swift ability to react and evade.[/li]
[li]WINTER SEASON
The cold season of winter belongs to the Badger. Those receiving the mark from this season will earn a half-moon scar, faced to the right, with a horizontal line through it. This symbol tells of the cats superior skill and experience in battle.[/li]
[li]FALL SEASON
This is the season of the Lion, and those within this color changing months will earn three claw marks diagonally across their foreheads. These cuts represent the cats strength, their fierce and unmerciful strategy in battle.[/li]
[li]SPRING SEASON
This season belongs to the snake and those within it are gifted a swirl pattern scar on their forehead. The mark speaks of this cats sly manner, the silent way they move and strike to kill. Often referred to as the assassins mark.[/li]
Ranks ❢
Below each rank will be described, in order of most authority to the least. Included will be a list of what duties the cat has on a day to day basis, and under each will be a list of previous and current cats in that rank. Take in mind that only high position cats will be listed here.
[li]THE SHERIFF
This is the undisputed ruler of the clan. Rather then gaining nine lives this cat is given the power to absorb souls, a gift from Hades when the cat is approved as leader. As well as this power they exchange the current prefix in their name for a new one. Night.
Among other things this cat calls meeting, forms and breaks alliances, assigns patrols, promotes and demotes cats of the clan, can exile members, form battle patrols and call for war, etc.

[li]THE DEPUTY
It is understood that this cat will one day succeed the clans sheriff. Of course the current sheriff must first die, retire, or step down from their position. During this time the cat aides the sheriff in day to day clan life. Helping sort patrols, calling meetings, stepping in when the sheriff isn't available, and when necessary forming battle patrols and going to war.

[/li]
[li]THE DOCTOR / NURSE
Cats within this rank act not only as healers for the sick, but are also the spiritual connection to the clans ancestors as well as Hades. And while they don't have much authority over the clans day to day life, they are allowed to order those of a lower rank around. Granted, of course, it isn't gain-saying the deputy or sheriff.

[/li]
[li]THE DUKE & DUCHESS
These are special cats either born or gifted with the ability to absorb souls, much like the sheriff. Active, loyal, and strong. These cats were deemed worthy to move into this rank, while it does not promise any further promotion it gives these cats the authority to rule over those of lesser rank. While also giving them duties of their own, which include protecting the sheriff and deputy. Giving up any of their extra lives to save them, if necessary.

[/li]
[li]THE ELDER
These are the old, retired, or disabled cats of the clan. Not able to provide any longer, however this does not mean they are to be treated lightly. Quite the opposite, for their services to the clan they are to be respected and obeyed by those of a lesser rank. They, along with queens and kit, are the first to be feed. Their nests changed by rookies. All in all theses old timers don't have any duties, nothing but to rest and relax.[/li]
[li]THE COP
These cats are the equivalent to other clans warriors. They have little authority over anyone other then rookies and kits. And their duties include hunting, fighting, participating in patrols, helping around camp, etc.[/li]
[li]THE QUEEN
Females that are pregnant or nursing kits. Because of their condition they are relieved from their cop duties, however during home attacks they usually defend the nursery from invaders.[/li]
[li]THE ROOKIE
Rookies are the equivalent to other clans apprentices. These young cats are learning to fight and hunt to provide for the clan, as well as learning about the clans history, religion, and traditions so they can be more knowledgeable.[/li]
[li]THE KIT
Kits are to young to being their training as a rookie and have no duties whatsoever. Most are still dependent on their mothers.[/li]
