Benjamin hopped out of the hedge and balanced on the tree branch. He glanced around at the other two pigeons. Should I introduce myself? he thought. Silas already said his name. Maybe he should, too? "I'm Benjamin," the pigeon said, Shuffling his feet around awkwardly on the branch. Did I do the right thing? What should I do now? Wait? Fly away? Oh, why can't I just talk easily with other pigeons!?

Blue saw the commotion with Saddie and Silas and flew down to check it out. "What's going on?" She asked lightly landing on a tree branch.

"I'm Saddie" the brown and white pigeon smiled as two more appeared. She turned her head two the two pigeons who begun to butt into their conversation. "You really should learn manners" she scolded turning her head to Blue before fluttering back to her nest.

"Sorry." Blue said softly a slight blush on her small cheeks.

Saddie looked at Silas. "Care to give me a hand" she asked as she dove down and picked up a stick.

Benjamin flew back to his hedge, carefully making his way to his nest. Branches poked his wings, and occasionally, a feather was plucked out, but hey, at least he was protected. The pigeon settled down in his nest, carefully woven with twigs and stems, and closed his eyes. After a day in the city, he sure needed some rest.

Benjamin was awoken by the hedge being shaken. He flew out of the nest and looked around, and a human child, who was shaking his hedge, charged after him. He was startled with fear and shock, and flew away, but his eyes were still fuzzy, and his wings were still closed to his body. Benjamin entered the city and felt himself tumbling down to the ground. "Oh no!" he shouted, hitting a wall. He fell to the ground, and wobbled to the safety of a crack in the wall of a building. After a few minutes, he attempted to fly away, but his winds were sore and injured. Who would barley be able to fly tomorrow, maybe just enough to enter the garden. Benjamin let out a soft sigh and snuggled up into his wings. The dirty smell made it hard for him to sleep, but he managed it. Tonight's going to be a bad night.

Saddie gathered a few more sticks and pieces of string before she was off back to her nest. "Thanks for your help" she smiled.
