Swiftpaw was hunched in the apprentices den, trying to suppress a surge of panic rising as one of his attacks began. The scent of Bluepaw, very faint and lacy but there, had reached him, leaving him with the horror-induced memories of his sister and mother dying. Badgers. How he hated them. The tuxedo apprentice was burying his face in his paws to stop the frantic gasps, and they slowed after a few minutes, leaving him to stay in silence and sadness and the thoughts pulled away like a curtain of fog.

CheshireGrub stared at the blood, leaking from her kits body. A gruesome sight. Star clan is cruel. She thought, pressing her face into her shoulder, her eyes squeezed shut. She tried to remove the image of her kit dead, a stick piercing through it but it would not vanish. She quivered, shaking with the loss and pain of her dead kit. She pressed her muzzle into her mates flank, tears streaming from her eyes. She choked back a yowl of grief and whispered to her now dead mate, "Please no, not like this. Don't leave me, I love you, you and Dapple kit. You were brave, so so brave. Please, Star clan, take my life, spare his." She looked up, her eyes glazing as she stared at two stars that shone brightly above her. "Come back...." she choked out weakly, her breathe coming out in rasps.

Spiral kit stared, her eyes widened with shock. Her stomach heaved, vommitting at the sight of the dead cats. "Is this, is this hell?" she whispered, her tiny, squeaky voice echoing through the silence of the camp. Her heart ached with pain and she felt she wasn't safe. She felt like something was clawing at her, dragging her into a death sentence, her clan mates were dead. Spiral kit wished for her mother, but knew that her mother was long dead. She stood shakily on her paws, whimpering.
