"Come on then!" She said shoving him into her den.
-
Brett stumbled and regained his footing. He looked around her shady den. He noticed how dark it was, even though there were some sun rays peeking through holes in the roof.
-
"Why don't ya have a collar like mine?" She asked him. "Or where ya a farm dog?"
-
"I never belonges to humans." He responded. "I was born in the wild."
-
"I stole." She smiled.
-
"Oh." Brett said. He went back further into her den, investigating the scents.
-
"It was easy." She commented.
-
"I would never steal." He responded. "My mother raised me right."
-
"Well my mother abandon me when i was a month old to live with my father." She said.
-
"Oh, I'm sorry." He mumbled sympathetically.
-
"Ah. Like I care. I have had a grate life so far." She said smiling.
-
Brett nodded. "Me too. Being a lone dog is the best life I could ever ask for."
-
"Agreed!"
-
"So, I'll stay for the night and depart first thing tomorrow morning." He said. "Thank you for letting me stay here."
-
"No prob." She said in a casual voice.
-
Brett made himself a makeshift nest in the cornernand he laid down, watching the entrance.
-
She laid down on her pelt and fell asleep.
-
After a few moments of watching the entrance, he fell asleep as well.
-
Vala woke up and got out to stretch her legs. She saw a antelope and gave chase. Soon it was dead and she dragged it back to her den. "Hungry?" She asked the sleeping wolf.
