  • Plot

Two unlikely people, a shifter and a wizard, are on the run from the police and human government. Accused and framed of a crime they didn't committ, the two are forced to team up to solve the mystery while escaping from enemies and other forces.

The shifter was framed for murdering his own fiance and has had a bad past with love. Will he be able to love ever again? Will he ever get over the hurt of losing a loved one?

The wizard has lost entire family from the betrayal of a close friend. Framed for blaming the murder on said close friend, on the run to find out who really killed family. Will be able to trust anyone ever again?

Two people who have been wronged and hurt will work together to either save their own hide or help the other. Will selfishness prevail and they'll end up hurting each other more, or will they come to terms with something else?

Let the chase and troubles begin.

  • Natalia kept looking over her shoulder. She had a hat pulled low over her face as she walked down the alleyway. She felt like she was being watched. The wizard reached into her bag and fingered her wand. "Hello? Is someone there?" She called gruffly.

  • Yeah someone was watching her. The man got closer and closer. Who was this man? Who knows? He was dressed in a black robe and his face was hidden by shadows. Suddenly though he turned around and fled as some clashing and clanging sounds were heard.

Footsteps could be heard...above the girl's head. And shouting followed.

"Get him!! Don't let him escape!!! Catch the murderer!!" the shouts cried getting closer and closer to the alleyway where the girl was.

Then out of the blue, a figure came jumping down to the ground in front of the girl. It was a man and he landed perfectly on his feet in a crouched position. He wore ripped blue jeans and a dark green hoodie jacket.

Standing up, the man looked around and then whipped around to see the girl in the alleyway. He at first growled at her menacingly, but then once he sniffed he knew she wasn't after him. His red hair was covered by his hood as his dark brown eyes looked around for a way out. But the voices of anger were getting closer and closer.

"He went that way! Into the alley! Hurry!!" the voices said again.

Cursing Soterios turned to the girl and caught sight of her wand in her hand. He looked up into her face. "Are you running away too?", he asked her, needing to know if she was also on the run like he was. He stood up tall to his full 6'2ft and stared down at her.

  • Natalia nodded. "Come closer, I can hide us both." She held her wand at the ready. She heard the voices, and they changed a bit. "Get them! They're the murderers!" Natalia looked distressed. God let the spell work. She thought.

  • "Come closer, I can hide us both." She held her wand at the ready. She heard the voices, and they changed a bit. "Get them! They're the murderers!"

Soterios scowled at her, his brown eyes narrowed. He glanced behind him and then at her. "Sorry, I can't take that chance.", he said to her.

Then quick as a flash, he rushed towards her and then bent at an angle. His right arm went around her slim waist and hoisted her up onto his shoulder. She weighted close to nothing in his arm, and he was only using one arm.

Using his wolf strength, he pushed off the ground and jumped up onto a window ledge, then from the window ledge, jumped onto the roof of the building. "Hang on.", he grunted to the girl on his shoulder, or more specifically the witch on his shoulder, and then ran at full speed across building tops.

His long legs carried him effortlessly over the roofs of buildings. The voices of people were soon lost behind them. He ran and ran until he saw a closed warehouse nearby. Jumping down from the roof he ran, still holding the girl and into the warehouse. Once inside he dropped the girl unceremoniously and not so gently on the ground and went to close the door and check if they were being followed. After a while after confirming they were alone, he went and walked towards the girl.

He silently sat down on a wooden crate and cast his brown eyes on the girl. "A witch. What was a witch doing in an alleyway? And on the run?", he almost growled at her as he flipped his hood off to reveal his red hair and his face. He looked menacing and mean at the moment as he studied the girl.

  • Natalia muttered then looked up t the wolf shifter. She lifted her hat up, revealing her facial features. She clutched her wand tightly and pointed it at Soterios. "Hey hey hey, I can ask you the same question." She said. "Murderer? Boy oh boy this better be good. If I talk, then you do to." She said. "You start. I have no reason to trust you right now." She glared at the shifter. "And I prefer not to be called a witch thank you very much." She added.

  • When the girl lifted her hat to reveal her face, Soterios had to stifle his gasp. By the gods, the girl looked like his ex-fiance. And seeing her face brought up memories for the wolf shifter, sad and angry memories. How dare that lying b*** play him? Too bad she was dead. No, Soterios really didn't want her dead. But what's done is done and now he's going to find out who really killed his ex.

But seeing her face again, it really was torture for him. He had loved her, cherished her, made her a Queen. Anything she wanted, he gave her. But apparently that wasn't enough for her. She had to go and cheat on him. It had broken his heart. And this girl in front of him....he wanted to hate her, but he couldn't since she didn't even do anything to him.

Drowning his anger he faced the girl with a stoic look. She had her wand pointed at him and though he should be scared, he wasn't. He was confident in his speed and he could over power her easily.

"Hey hey hey, I can ask you the same question." She said. "Murderer? Boy oh boy this better be good. If I talk, then you do to." She said. "You start. I have no reason to trust you right now." She glared at the shifter. "And I prefer not to be called a witch thank you very much." She added.

Soterios scoffed at her bravado. "That should be my line. And like I care what you prefer. Since you won't give me your name, then I'll just stick with 'Witch'. You're one to talk. Why were you being chased after. What could you possibly do to someone?", he asked her.

Frankly he was amazed she didn't recognize him as the famous model and actor. Better keep it that way. He didn't need this girl running around blabbing that she saw him. "I was framed and I'm looking for revenge. What's your story?", he growled out as he watched her closely and his body was tense as if he'd be ready to bolt at any moment's notice.

  • "You were what? How did? My goodness is it just a coincidence. My gosh, I have the same story. Call me witch if yo want, I'm not giving my name unless you earn it. Have I seen you from somewhere? You look familiar..." She trailed off. He looked a bit like an actor she had once seen in a movie. She didn't lower her wand though. "If you're playing me you'll be sorry. I'm a powerful wizard." She warned. "What am I supposed to call you anyway red head?" She asked. Natalia looked at him. She taking in his features, and the fact that he was tense. "Relax, I won't hurt you if you don't hurt me. If you stand down, I'll lower my wand." She said. Her tone was even, but had a hint of waning in it.

  • "You were what? How did? My goodness is it just a coincidence. My gosh, I have the same story. Call me witch if yo want, I'm not giving my name unless you earn it. Have I seen you from somewhere? You look familiar..."

Soterios narrowed his eyes at her and frowned. Darn, she was catching on to him. And what a surprise she would get. Famous actor and model Soterios Sheridan accused of murder and on the run. How rich. She'd probably laugh her head off. Her attitude was a bit like his. Untrusting and he was fine with that. "Fine, then Witch you will be. And you can call me Red until I trust you enough with my real name. And no I haven't seen you before so I don't think you should know me.", he told her and then relaxed a tiny bit.

"If you're playing me you'll be sorry. I'm a powerful wizard."

Soterios scoffed at her. "Yeah and I'm a shifter. A pretty old shifter. So I have confidence in my abilities to disable you easily. You bite me and I'll return the favor.", he told her as he gave her a look.

"What am I supposed to call you anyway red head?" She asked. Natalia looked at him. She taking in his features, and the fact that he was tense. "Relax, I won't hurt you if you don't hurt me. If you stand down, I'll lower my wand."

He looked at skeptically. "Red is fine for all I care. And sorry if this insults you or hurts you in any way, I'm having trust issues right now, so sorry but I'm not 100% sure of anything at the moment besides the fact that you and me are in the same boat and screwed.", he answered her crossly.

  • "Like I blame you for having trust issues." She rolled her eyes. "If we're in the same boat, I get it." She sighed. He looked familiar, but from where? Was he an actor? Was he someone she'd seen on the street? She didn't know.

"Screwed? Not likely. If I've stayed hidden for this long I can hide for the rest of my life, but what I want is justice." She said crossly. She took her hat off and let her black hair fall just below her shoulders. Natalia clutched her hat close to her chest.

She stood up and walked over to a crate. She sat down, then spoke again. "Shifter eh? Nice. As you can tell, I deal with magic." She shrugged. She laid her wand down beside her. She took in the appearance of the warehouse. "Nice choice, full of old machinery, joy." She said sarcastically.

  • "Like I blame you for having trust issues." She rolled her eyes. "If we're in the same boat, I get it."

Soterios moved over to give her some room. "So what's trust done to you? Stabbed you in the back and left you bleeding?", he asked her as he also glanced around the warehouse. He prayed mentally that she would stop looking at him so closely. If she looked anymore, he was sure she'd figure out who he was.

"Screwed? Not likely. If I've stayed hidden for this long I can hide for the rest of my life, but what I want is justice."

He glanced over at her. Weird, way too weird. "Justice? That's what I'm ordering. But staying hidden won't get you anywhere...unless you have the right connections.", he told her as he pulled out his handy iPhone and dialed a number.

"Shifter eh? Nice. As you can tell, I deal with magic." She shrugged. She laid her wand down beside her. She took in the appearance of the warehouse. "Nice choice, full of old machinery, joy."

He gave her a look over his phone. "Better this than prison anyday Witch.", he told her as then he was talking to someone over the phone.

"Ronald. Yeah this Red. I need you at this address. Pick me up using the old tinted jeep. I've got company too. See ya in 10.", he said and then hung up. Soterios turned to the girl beside him. "You want out? I'll give ya a lift since we're partners in crime afterall., he told her as he checked his watch. 10:15 AM, way to early for all this drama.

  • "Yeah. Trust made friends with me, grabbed a knife off the table and stabbed be in the back, then left me to die." Natalia spat. "Oops, sorry, didn't mean to go overboard." She apologized. She sighed, but didn't take her eyes off of Soterios.

"Glad we are really floating in the same boat. What did the world do to you that makes you want justice?" She asked. She was still piecing together who he really was, but that would be later. Right now she needed to worry about this Ronald guy.

"Who's Ronald? Partner in crime? Friend? Cop? You playing me?" She asked. She looked rather on edge. Her eyes darted from side to side. She was worried that he was a cop, but she would be able to defend herself. She could teleport if she needed to.

"I guess you're right, prison sucks, no need to be there." She sighed. She played with her hat, and looked down at her feet. She thought about who this Ronald guy was, or who the shifter really was. A cop? Probably not. A cafe owner? Certainly not.

  • "Yeah. Trust made friends with me, grabbed a knife off the table and stabbed be in the back, then left me to die." Natalia spat. "Oops, sorry, didn't mean to go overboard."

Soterios stared at her. "You call that overboard? You didn't hear me rant yet. After you've heard what I've had to say, your ears might be ringing.", he told her as he got comfy to tell his tale.

"Glad we are really floating in the same boat. What did the world do to you that makes you want justice?"

Soterios gave her a pensive look. "You wanna know what happened to me? Well let's see, trust happened. Well and love too. Those two bas*** in crime pretended to be my friend. They pretended to love me. In reality, they were the poison that was slowly corrupting me from the inside out. I fell for the trap and I had trouble getting myself out. Those SOB took a freaking sword, gutted me, sliced me, and twisted. Seems Trust and Love have made themselves my archenemies now.", he said with a growl as he thought of the woman's face, who looked really like Witch, and how much he wanted revenge. Too bad she was dead.

"Who's Ronald? Partner in crime? Friend? Cop? You playing me?"

He checked his watch and waited. "Who's Ronald? About the only guy I can trust. When everyone turned their backs on me, Ronald and his family took me in and helped me. I would give my life up for that guy. Save my a$$ so many times, I'll be in debt even after my death.", he told her.

"I guess you're right, prison sucks, no need to be there."

Soterios nodded. "Definitely. So we're getting outta here. Ronald's got this tinted Jeep and he's coming to get us. That way we can escape from the nosy paparazzi and police undetected. Ronald's also got a good standing in the society, so no one will think to look for us at his place. Thank gods for ignorant people.", he said as his phone vibrated.

He checked to see who it was. Then he hopped off and went to one of the dusty windows and looked outside. There was a blue Jeep with black tinted windows. He turned back to the girl. "Our ride's here. You coming or rotting in here? I for one am out.", he said as he put his hood back on and then waited to see if she was coming.

  • Natalia nodded. "Like I'm staying here." She scoffed. She shoved her hair under her hat and picked up her wand. She walked up to Soterios. "Let's get a move on then." She gestured for him to lead the way.

She lowered the brim of the hat to shield her eyes then fiddled with her wand. She shrugged, obviously not seeing what she wanted, and stowed it in her bag. "So, do you think that this Ronald guy will even let me into the car?" She asked sceptically.

She wondered what the jeep would look like, and what this Ronald guy would look like. Would he be nice towards her? Not like she trusted either of them though... Although, Soterios didn't really seem to be the kind to get someone screwed. Especially when that person happened to have the same basic story.

What is Red's real name? Is he going to get me screwed? Is he all that he seems? Is the shifter going to ditch me and leave me to die like trust or that b****? Why do I keep asking myself these questions? I must sound like a freak to my other self out... if I had another self... She thought to herself.

  • "Like I'm staying here." She scoffed. She shoved her hair under her hat and picked up her wand. She walked up to Soterios. "Let's get a move on then."

Soterios smirked at her. He knew she wouldn't want to stay in this hold coop. Who would? He headed towards the door and opened it a crack to see Ronald pulling the jeep closer to the warehouse door so they could make a dash for it.

    (here's what Ronald looks like: http://i189.photobucket.com/al…ishoujo_by_Fate_Stay_.jpg )

"So, do you think that this Ronald guy will even let me into the car?"

Soterios didn't look at her as he scanned the outside. "We're in a dire situation. Ronald will yield. But he is a very powerful person and if you decide to screw us both, he'll come after you and made your life living hell, till you die. And I'm pretty sure he can carry out that threat. Hopefully you won't feel like going down that path. I don't recommend it.", he said as he made some hand signal to the guy in the car.

He saw the jeep door unlock from the inside and also with the passenger door. Soterios turned to the girl. "Oh three, we'll run to the jeep and you grab the back door, I've got shotgun. Ready?", he asked.

He opened the crack in the door bigger and then counted. "One, two...three!", he called as he made a mad dash for the forest green jeep. With his speed, he hit the passenger door and almost ripped it off its hinges getting it open. He hopped into the passenger seat and shut the door all in less than 1 minute.

Ronald gave Soterios a look. "This car was worth more than your life. Break and you lose something precious.", he told his friend. Soterios gave him a grin. He knew the guy was joking. The two waited for the girl to get a move on before leaving.

  • Natalia darted out of the warehouse. She quickly opened the door, then slammed it shut. "Let's get going." She urged. She looked out the window, grateful to be in a moving vehicle. She sighed and looked at Ronald. "So you're Ronald. Not exactly what I expected." She said casually.

"So, Red, you know, thinking about it, Red doesn't feel right, Wolf or something does. What kind of shifter are you? Might as well call you that, easier then Red, no offense of course." She said. She pulled out her wand and fiddled with it in her hands.

She shrugged, obviously bored, then tipped her hat to reveal her eyes. She went back to fiddling with her wand, occasionally glancing at Ronald. If this guy was with Red, he might me alright, might. Of course, she wasn't really going to trust them, she probably was never going to trust again... not after... after... she couldn't bring herself to think of that incident.

Natalia looked from one man to the other. They seemed fine, of course, as she kept telling herself, she wasn't going to take any chances. She wasn't going to trust, never... never. A big word, don't keep telling yourself that, of course, you're probably right. She thought to herself. Never, a big word for a little time, but until my name is cleared, there is no better word to describe the time it might be until I trust again, that is, if I do trust again... Indefinitely might work tough... who am I kidding? My life is in ruins. She thought.

  • "Let's get going." She urged. She looked out the window, grateful to be in a moving vehicle. She sighed and looked at Ronald. "So you're Ronald. Not exactly what I expected."

Ronald hit the gas and drove out the warehouse parking lot. He made an elaborate turnaround to make sure no one would see them leaving from the lot. Ronald then pulled into the main road and blended into traffic. He looked into the reaview mirror. "So you're the company. Not exactly what I expected either. When Red mentioned company, I didn't think a Witch would be what was in mind.", Ronald retorted smartly to her and kept on driving.

Soterios shot the guy a look. Ronald grimaced. "Save it Red. I had to bust my butt to get out here. Better thank my lovely wife or else I wouldn't be here.", the tanned man with silver hair said. Even though he said it crassly, Ronald didn't truly mean it. He treated Soterios like a brother, in truth he was his manager, and loved the guy like a brother. He'd put his life for the wolf shifter. Ronald only sounded bothered.

Soterios chuckled. "I'll be sure to thank Amanda and Arthi too. Anyway, Witch meet Ronald. Ronald, meet Witch, that's not her real name but since she won't give it to me, I call her Witch.", he said.

"So, Red, you know, thinking about it, Red doesn't feel right, Wolf or something does. What kind of shifter are you? Might as well call you that, easier then Red, no offense of course."

Soterios looked over his shoulder at her. "Call me whatever you want, and why does wolf fit me might I ask?", he asked her.

Ronald scoffed. "That's a stupid question.", he muttered and grunted when Soterios jabbed him in his stomach. "Hands off the driver.", Ronald spoke. Ronald was driving towards the suburbs where his large estate and family were.

  • "Well, you move like a wolf, and Wolf just seems more your style." Natalia shrugged. She rolled her eyes when he called her 'Witch'. She shrugged inside. It made sense, although, she had a good reason not to tell him her real name. Might as well get used to it, it's going to probably be a while. She thought.

"As for names, I'll go with Wolf for you. Red isn't really what I take you for. And I have every right to stick with whatever you call me. You won't give me your name, so I won't give you mine. I probably wouldn't give you my real name anyway, after what trust has done to me." She sighed. She drummed on the back of Wolf's chair.

She chuckled as she watched the two had a brotherly moment. What she would give to see her siblings again. If it weren't for trust, she might still have her family... She removed her hat, then continued to drum on Wolf's chair as she looked out the window.

She continued to think of where she had seen Wolf from. Was it, no, not in a news paper... The news, possibly, T.V.? Maybe, most likely actually. Magazine, possibly... Dang, to many possibilities.... She thought. Hmmmm... T.V, T.V. What have I watched.... I watch movies... Oh, that's it! She thought. "T.V. That's where I've seen you from. You are, or my guess, were an actor... where from..." She trailed off in thought.

  • "Well, you move like a wolf, and Wolf just seems more your style."

Soterios frowned at her. That was a vague generalization, and he was frankly scared by the fact that she uncovered another thing about him. He was a wolf shifter, but he wasn't going to confirm her guess. Let her keep guessing. Might be good for her. Ronald scoffed as he drove.

"As for names, I'll go with Wolf for you. Red isn't really what I take you for. And I have every right to stick with whatever you call me. You won't give me your name, so I won't give you mine. I probably wouldn't give you my real name anyway, after what trust has done to me."

Soterios turned back around to face the front. He felt her drumming on his seat but he didn't say anything. "Whatever, suit yourself. So I'm Wolf to you, Red to Ronald, and you're Witch to everyone.", he said as he watched the outside as they drove.

As they were driving down the road, they passed many billboards and posters that previously advertised him. But since his downfall, all his ads and pictures have been removed. It's as if he never existed in their lives. He scowled at the thought. Humans, what fickle people. Well all except Ronald and his family.

Soterios had to admit, Ronald was probably the only human he trusted. Ronald and his family. Actually the big truth was, Ronald was Soterios' brother-in-law. Soterios' sister, Amanda, was married to Ronald. Surprising but it's true.

"T.V. That's where I've seen you from. You are, or my guess, were an actor... where from..."

Soterios stiffened at her guessing. Crap she was getting close. Ronald caught the change and looked at the rearview mirror. "From nowhere. You didn't see him. He's just some guy you bumped into on the road.", he said as he was starting to get closer to a large brick estate surrounded by a huge lot of land.

Soterios looked out the window at the house. It's been a while since he last visited his sister and Ronald. Their home felt like home to him. "It's been a while.", he muttered to himself. Ronald chuckled as he drove closer.

At the gated entrance, Ronald did a retina and handprint scan which opened the tall iron gates. Then he drove the car into the huge estate and into the garage.

(house looks like this: http://activerain.com/image_st…5/8/ar127290653585787.jpg )

Ronald parked the car and got out. The back door opened and out walked a lovely auburn haired lady and a little russet haired boy ran after her. Ronald immediately went to the lady and pulled her into a hug. "I'm home.", he said into her hair. Amanda, his wife and Soterios' sister laughed and kissed his cheek. "Welcome home Love.", she said.

The little boy was pulling at Ronald's leg. Ronald looked down and picked up his 5 year old son, Arthur. "Hi Dad!", Arthur said and hugged his papa. Ronald smiled and hugged his son. "Hi Arthi, I'm back."

Amanda then went around Ronald and towards Soterios. She ran to him and leaped into his arms. Soterios caught her and swung her around. "Brother you're back. It's been so long. How have you been?", she asked as she kissed his cheeks. Soterios smiled at his younger sister. "Hey Manda, I'm good. I'm glad to see Ronald taking care of you. Otherwise things won't be pretty.", he joked.

Amanda laughed and swatted his arm. "Hey, no one can bully my hubby but me. Arthur, come say hi to your uncle.", she called. Arthur squirmed out of Ronald's arms and ran over to Soterios. The little half wolf shifter half human boy jumped into Soterios' arms. "Uncle Terry!!", he cried in joy.

While Soterios was having a nice family reunion, Amanda turned and sat Natalia. The female wolf-shifter walked forward with a smile. "Hello there. I'm Amanda Felton. Who might you be?", she asked the witch as she held out her hand.

  • Natalia, who had gotten out of the car, watched the small family reunion. She looked at Amanda and hesitated as she looked down at the woman's extended hand. She glanced down at her hand, which clutched her wand tightly, like a little girl and her toy. She said nothing, but didn't want to appear rude. She quickly thought hard about what to say... Uh, what am I supposed to say? Give my name, with that shifter over there? Oh god what am I supposed to do? Boy I'm going to regret this... should I? She thought.

Yeah, hi. My name is Witch, I was a criminal, or at least, framed. Like that's going to end well... Ugg, pacing would suck, my lord, I am so going to regret this. She thought. "Lia." She answered and shook Amanda's hand. It wasn't really a lie, the last bit of her name was Lia, it could work, maybe...

She glanced over at Arthur. He was cute. A nice family. What she wanted to know was if there were any little girls... she'd find out soon enough... "A pleasure I'm sure." She faked a smile, and it looked pretty real. She quickly slid her wand into her bag.

She smiled and glanced over at Wolf. "So, nice place." She smiled. She looked at the little boy again. He was so sweet, so, so, cute. Did he know of his uncle's past? Would he ever know. She adjusted her bag and glanced around the bit of the property that she could see. This place could fit like a dozen people and still have a room to spare. She thought. She couldn't help but crack a smile as she looked at the estate.
