  • Coming to the river, Sandymist stopped in his tracks. "Get on my back," he moaned, sighing. "I need to make sure you get over the river without dying in the process." If this apprentice drowned while he was traininv her, he would have a huge problem on his paws. Therefore, he would make sure she stayed out of the river until he had a proper swimming lesson.

  • barrenpaw had to do it. she let out a small, adorable giggle. it wasn't something the feline normally did for she wasn't a girly-girl. with a sigh, the seal mink tortoiseshell climbed upon sandymist's back with a glare in her grey eyes. she didn't like this what she ever. she wasn't helpless! but of course she had to obey her mentor. if she didn't she'd be given hell by one of the elder warriors. or worse- wildstar herself. at that thought, a shiver ran down the hawkclanner's spine. she didn't want that to happen at all!

  • "nuffin'!" barrenpaw said, blushing ever so slightly. the tortoiseshell apprentice tried to not dig her claws into sandymist's back. but she didn't exactly want to get soaked once again; she couldn't really swim. "you should teach me how to swim sometime." barrenpaw said as she stared at a silver fish that swam by her and sandymist. "just sayin'." she stuck her tongue out to prove her point.

  • "I will, but for now there are more important subjects to focus on." He swam to the shore, and then stood there to wait for the apprentice to get off his back. "I say we start battle training next. Bloodclan aren't going to rip their own throats out," he mewed, laughing.

  • barrenpaw nodded. she felt a smile creep across her muzzle. she was excited to learn how to fight. that was what she had been wanting to learn the most out of everything, so far! "yay!" the seal mink tortoiseshell squealed as she leaped off of sandymist's back. she bounced around. obviously the feline was hyper. "let's go let's go let's go!" barrenpaw said as she urged the tom to hurry up and c'mon. she was ready to kick some ass!

  • Sandymist hurried down to the large, cleared space where he was trained as an apprentice. "Alright. Attack me, show me what you know," he mewed, standing still, ready to spar.

  • barrenpaw paused for a moment. her thoughts returned to back to when she was a kitten and her and her friend pandakit had play fought.

"c'mon, barrenkit!" barrenkit chased after the black and white tom kitten, nipping his tail. she did that and he tumbled to the ground, losing his balance. "that's not fair!" pandakit hissed and batted at her ear. next thing barrenkit knows is she's now being tackled by her friend. they squirm and wriggle together for atleast ten minutes before giving up. it was a tie.

barrenpaw smiled at the memory. she looked at sandymist and smiled, nodding her triangular shaped head. crouching low to the ground, she crept forward. suddenly, with a burst of speed, barrenpaw aimed to barrel into her mentor. she remembered to keep her head tucked low and her tail tucked, too. no need having a naked tail if it wasn't necessary!

  • Sandymint stood there steadily. Didn't this apprentice know not to tackle a cat twice her size fom the front? He said nothing, she would figure it out eventually if it kept not working. The best way to learn to fight was by trial and error, in his opinion. He stood there, like a tortoiseshell stature, smirking slightly.

  • barrenpaw's head was still low. therefore she did not notice the smirk upon her mentor's face. so she didn't know what she was doing was a big no no in fighting rules. well, she hadn't exactly ever been taught to fight. she had only play fought with her friend pandakit and her siblings. that really was all, though.

as the seal mink tortoiseshell neared sandymist, she was expecting to hit him full force. she had no earthly idea that he was most likely going to jump to the side. she also didn't know the rules of gravity too much, either it seemed.

  • As Barrenpaw rammed into her, Sandymist didn't move a muscle. "How's that working for ya?" He said, smirking. He remembers his first fighting lesson. He rammed into his mentor foolishly, and his mentor shoved him over and kicked his butt. Definitely the easiest way to figure out not to attack a huge cat from the front. But he didn't move. The cat would learn eventually.

  • Barrenpaw grunted as she barreled into the much larger Tom. A frown appeared upon the tortoiseshell' s muzzle. She didn't look satisfied with herself. So instead of continuing the unsuccessful move, Barrenpaw made her way under Sandymist's belly. Using her neck and shoulder muscles, the apprentice aimed to headbutt her mentor's stomach as hard as she could.

  • Sandymist got the wind knocked out of him. Ow. He kicked foward with his hind leg. "Just so you know, there are many counters to the move you just used."

  • "C-counters?" The beautiful apprentice sounded out the foreign word. "What's that mean?" Barrenpaw said this after being kicked in the rump. She was sent tumbling out from beneath Sandymist. "Can you teach me defensive moves and such?" She wanted to learn as much as she could- just in case there was a time she might need them anytime soon.

  • "A counter is a move used to avoid anofher move. Now, as for defensive moves, the best way I can teach you those is as the situation appears in sparring. For example. Attempt to attack me." He dropped ito a fighting stance. "Defense moves are probably the most important, because they ca save you from becoming Bloodclan food." He would teach offensive moves later, after Barrenpaw got the defensive ones down.

  • The seal mink feline flicked her tail to show that she was listening intently to what Sandymist was telling her. Barrenpaw smiled then nodded once with her triangular shaped head after he directed her to attack him. The apprentice lowered her body and charged charged at the Tom before her. She was aiming to get beneath him once again, like before, since it was basically the only things she really knew how to do.

Ooc;; I'm on mobile so I'm sorry if some of it doesn't make sense. Stupid auto correct xD

  • Ooc- I'm always on moile. Theres lemonade in my keyboard.
Ic- Sandymist tepped to the side. "That is called dodging an attack. If you are larger than your opponent, then you can flatten yourself and smash your opponent under you." He deciding that it wouldn't be a good idea to demonstrate that second move. "If you end endup pinned, you can scratch your opponent's belly to putyourself back in control. Or you could fake death."
