hawkpaw glanced at his leader, wondering if he should leave her, then wrinkled his nose in disgust as oakclaw began vomiting, "u-uh, sure" he meowed, covering his eyes and racing after the warrior
Cinderstar looked away, forcing herself not to wrinkle her nose, "are you alright Oakclaw?" she asked worriedly, risking a glance at him, "you dont...seem so well..."
Vanilladream sighed. "I miss him so much.."
hawkpaw looked up, "who?" he asked quizzicly, padding in step beside the warrior
"I prefer to not say.." She stared at her paws.
“never...better bleghhhh” he threw up again. “You go back to camp. im going to rinse off in the lake” he got the words out quickly. moaning he crinkled his nose.
he prodded her gently, "come on!" he urged, poking her playfully, "i promise i wont tell another soul!" he crossed his heart with his paw and shut his lips tight, indicating that if he told he'd scratch his heart
Cinderstar shook her head, "no, im afraid you might fall in" she meowed, smiling kindly, "lean on me, ill take you to the river"
"Fine." Vanilladream took powerful strides. "My father is who I miss.." She sighed. "He was brutally killed in a monster accident.."
hawkpaw nodded sadly, "yeah, i understand" he paused, then meowed, "i never met my parents...my adoptive mother said they abandoned me..." he smiled brightly, "but its ok, i have you and oakclaw and cinderstar and everyone else!" he meowed, pawing her shoulder, "and you have us too, i bet your dad misses you too, but its better to live with the one around you than the ones before"
Vanilladream nodded. "Yeah.."
"A-Are you sure? I reek pretty badly. Oh...no" he doubled over clutching his stomach. He got slowly to his paws and wobbled to the river. He just gave in and fell into the shallow water.
Thornleaf trotted after Cinderstar and Oakclaw, a wad of herbs in his jaws. "What in StarClan's name happened?"
cinderstar sighed sympathetically, leaning forward and grabbing his scruff. she dragged his head above the surface and rested it against a rock. she glanced at thornleaf, "i was bitten by an adder, oakclaw tried to help by sucking the venom but...he's not doing so good" she licked his head the wrong way, drying it
Vanilladream sighed. "But losing somebody is more painful than pain itself." She flattened her ears.
hawkpaw nodded sympathetically, "but it hurts more if you keep thinking about it" he paused, seeing he camp entrance. he smiled and crouched, wagging his tail, "hey vanilladream, wanna race?" he asked chellengingly
Thonleaf sighed. "Eat this." He pushed some yarrow towards the deputy.
Bramblemask raced from the undergrowth at that moment, her blue eyes glowing. "What happened? I know Cinderstar got bitten by an adder, but what has happened to Oakclaw?"
Vanilladream perked her ears. "Sure."
Oakclaw shook his head, "Waters all I needed...Make sure you check cinderstar to make sure shes okay" he mewed standing up.
cinderstar shook her head, "oakclaw, you shouldn't worry, im fine, honest" she crossed her heart like hawkpaw does, smiling kindly at her deputy, "besides, i think your in a much worse state than me"
hawpaw nodded, "ready...set-GO!" he lunged forward, racing towards the camp
Thornleaf sighed again. "She's right, Oakclaw."
"Honestly Im fine. Lets go back to camp" he mewed
