[size=8] "Here I go." The huff was no more than a heavy cloud of breath, invisible through air so warm, it rippled where heat was most intense. The canine stepped awayfrom the abandonded twoleg structure he'd called home, directing thin paws toward a certain area. There were felines. Vast numbers of them, from what the coyote had heard. He spotted them each day, walking in groups past his home, a new face each time. They hadn't lived there long, either. He easily recalled the first day he noticed them, a group so large he couldn't count them if he tried - and now he wished to be part of them. Surely what he'd seen was not only plentiful felines - they had to have the sense to accept a powerful animal of another species when they would ask. It wasn't that hard to see them asking either, for now, it was his turn.
He had tagged along with a small feline patrol as he let his thoughts run. But at last, they arrived at a larger clearing - swarming with cats! His eyes widened at the sight. He hadn't imagined there could even be this many cats in the entire world...but all the better. For, if they accepted him into their alliance - or whatever it was they called it - they would all be his allies, all be his friends. "In there," a bolder feline from the patrol growled, flicking his tail toward an enclosed, dignified looking den. "Thank you," the coyote acknowledged, lowering his head to gently scratch on the outside of the den respectfully - well, as respectful as he could be to a stranger. Though, it seemed necessary, as whoever answered his entrance request must have had command over all of the gathered felines.
"Excuse me...might I enter?"
