  • Blizzard padded threw the white snow. She listened as the cold ground crunched under her paw. She looked around but she was alone and cold. Blizzard looked around and shivered. The silver she-cat sat down in the snow.

  • Fang sniffed for a rabbit, mouse, vole anything. Winter was unforgiving to a rouge.
Maybe I should've stayed with my clan... He thought. No, not ever. His old clan treated the warrior code like a mouse. A white and grey spotted she cat came into view.
What's a cat doing by herself in this weather?
"Hi" He said. Padding over to the cat

  • Blizzard eyes widened when she heard someone speak. She had been alone for so long she had forgotten what another voice sounded like. Blizzard turned to see another cat walking toward her. "Hi." Blizzard mewed quietly.

  • Blizzard blinked slowly. "Nothing, just sitting here." Blizzard shivered then let out sneeze. "And catching a cold." Blizzard brushed some snow off her tail. "I'm Blizzard."

  • Blizzard stood up and followed Fang into a cave. Blizzard laid down and curled up into a tight ball. "What are you doing out in the forest anyway? Are you lost too?" Blizzard asked Fang.

  • "Clan?" Blizzard titled her head. "What is that?" Blizzard blinked twice.

  • "Warrior code? Is that like the rules your clan goes by?" Blizzard meowed.

  • "Oh, I see." Blizzard yawned. "Thanks for helping me Fang." Blizzard closed her eyes. "I'm sorry about your clan." Blizzard breathed in deeply before drifting off to sleep.

  • "The kitten is out." Candace mewed quietly. Her voice was shaking.

"Oh, that's wonderful!" Jet purred. "Male or female?"

"Female," Candace murmured. "But... Petal wants to see you."

Jet nodded and raced inside. Petal lay on her side. The tiny kitten was curled up at her side.

"Oh, Petal, she's beautiful!" Jet purred.

    Petal didn't reply.

"Petal?" Jet meowed, turning to look at her.

Her eyes were half closed. "Jet..." she whispered.

"Yes, I'm here." Jet crouched down beside her.

"Take good care of our kitten." Petal whispered.

"W-what do you mean?" Jet stammered.

"I have to leave you, darling."

    "What?!" Jet cried.

"I'll never forget you." Petal murmured.

"No, you can't leave me, Petal! You can't die! What will I do without you?" Jet felt tears rolling down his cheek.

"You can care for our kitten, if you really want to help me." Petal answered softly.

    "Don't go, please!" Jet sobbed.

"I'm sorry, my sweet," Petal murmured. "I love you, Jet."

"I love you, Petal." Jet tried to get his voice to stop trembling.

But the trembling of his voice didn't go away when Petal closed her eyes and her breathing stopped.

"No!" Jet flung his head back and cried, "No! No! No! This can't be happening!"

But it was. Petal was dead. Jet breathed in deeply as he glanced at the tiny kit. "This is all your fault! You killed your mother!" Jet yowled at the kit. Jet stumbled backwards. He wasn't the same anymore. Anger had taken control of his body. Jet stood up and walked out of Candace's den.

"Jet, where are you going?" Candace asked.

"I don't want her." Jet hissed.

"What?" Candace blinked her blue eyes. "What do you mean?"

"I don't want the kit! Get rid of it!" Jet snapped the ran off.

Blizzard stumbled backwards and accidently tripped over Fang. Blizzard scrambled to her paws. He's ears where flat against on her head.
