Daryl is 34, as of now. He met Beatrice when she was 27. They dated, ish. Complicated. And one day, when Daryl was 29, Beatrice left him. Why? We'll find out later. But five years later, after leaving Rick's group when the Governor was "defeated", he traveled alone. He found a small farmhouse, cleared it out and set up a water filtration system. He took an entire year to build a 15 foot tall chain link fence with a four sniper platforms and barbwire reinforcement around a five acre perimeter. He reinforced the old barn that had some previous pet horses living off the grass and raised them for transportation. He hunted the land, tended to the stream that ran across the East side to keep the water clean. Merle's motorcycle was swept under a tarp in an old shed, buried by farm tools and supplies. Daryl took Sophia, his favorite young horse, out into town to get supplies. Living off the land supplied, but not enough for the upcoming winter, and large amounts of meat would spoil for only one man and no freezer. As he filled a bag with canned and boxed foods, he heard the whimper of a small child. He readied his crossbow and looked around. He saw a small girl, about five, cowering down in a box of clothing. He squinted at the eyes. A familiar hazel. He reached out to her, picking her up. She clutched him, terrified. "Find my mommy." she begged. He nodded, but explained she needed to come with him to get dried off. The heavy Georgia rains soaked her clothes and chilled her to the core. He gave her his poncho and rode Sophia home with his goods tied up and the child gripped tightly so she wouldn't fall.
The plot is that Beatrice left Daryl because she became pregnant with Carter. The apocalypse started, and she fled to the country in hopes of finding Daryl. His house was empty, only the half eaten walker carcass of his father remained. Beatrice posted up in a food and store into which Daryl broke into for supplies. Walkers had overrun the most of it, and poor Carter thought her dad was a walker. Her mother was lost in the walker infested section. Carter escaped through a small hole in the wall, but suffered a broken wrist from a violent walker grabbing her. She fled outside for a while, but walkers came and she hid in the box.
Someone needs to play Beatrice, Daryl's soon to be son (Bea will become pregnant) and the other survivors that will join Daryl on his little land plot.
