Angelfeather was moving along the WindClan moors, heading towards camp. When she padded in, her eyes flickered to Muddypaw. "Muddypaw!" She called, bounding up to him. "Ready go out?" First, she wanted to teach him how to hunt.

The rabbit, startled at the sudden noise, fled.

"Nice job," Angelfeather muttered, annoyed at the apprentice. She shook the dust from her belt. "Next time try creeping..." Once her pelt was clean and removed of dirt, she motioned towards a rabbit in the far off distance. "Try that one."

Muddypaw bite his lip (Do cats bite their lips?) Oh no! I can't believe I just did that! Now she'll think I'm a useless furball! He thought, devastated. He vaguely heard something about hunting the other one.
He looked around, sure enough, on the plains, a young inexperienced hare was nibbling the grass. He tensed his legs and slowed edged closer. When the was close enough, he lunged forward. The hare, startling, ran blindly. Muddypaw sprinted after it, pounding the ground with his paws.
He closed in on the hare, unsheathing his claws, he gave a huge bound, he missed the hare by a mouse whisker, and it disappeared from under him
"Fox-dung!" He snarled, as he watched the hare leaping into the safety of the burrow.
Muddypaw bowed his head, staring at his paws.

She crept up on two small mice scuffling among a large oak tree's roots. "Now, try them. Remember, keep your tail from brushing the ground, step lightly, and make sure you make no sound." Angelfeather instructed, demonstrating it.

Muddypaw tried to calm his nerves as he crept towards the mouse, making sure he was down wind. The scent made his mouth water. He was sure the mouse could hear his anxious heartbeat. He tensed, and leapt straight onto the mouse, pinning it down. He gave it a clumsy bite on the throat. It sqealed and wiggled for a bit, and then was still. "Thank you StarClan!"
