You're gonna go far kid... {p, ullaf}

The next morning, as the sun rose atop the horizon, a pink streak across the sky, Crestfallen awoke. Surprisingly, on time. Victorious in her attempt to wake at the right moment, she went off to see if her apprentice Lilacpaw was awake as well.

Flicking her ears, Crestfallen turned her shoulder to look back at her apprentice. "Besides walking, of course."

Padding out of camp and into the frosted air, the she-cat realized the coming of leaf-fall. Looking at the leads of the trees who's leafs changed by their cycle, she noticed a few fallen ones, and a bit of autumn colored as well. But as she looked to another tree, she noticed an array of fiery colors. Soon prey will be scarce, and the medicinal herbs will fail to grow as wellshe thought. But, at least the evergreen pines would stand in leaf-bare, tall and bushy as they always are.

Reaching a warmer area, where the wind cant reach, Crestfallen stopped. "Were here."

Crestfallen had already hidden five berries the day before. 'Yes, juniper berries in fact." She mewed. "Do you know their scent?" She asked. Just in case, she had a sixth somewhere, a sniff sample.

Popping the berry into her mouth, Crestfallen ate it. "So you do huh?" "Well this assessment is finding those berries." She mewed. Maybe she shouldn't of eaten the test berry. But either way, it shouldn't be too difficult for her apprentice to find some berries hidden in the grove. The chilly air blew Crestfallens fur back a bit, and she stood their shivering. "Well, you're off."

Crestfallen smiled as to see how close her apprentice was from a berry. My apprentice if very skilled. But wether it's my training or just herself, I can't tell.

Crestfallen nodded, sitting in the middle of the clearing with a berry by her paws. Scooping down, she ate it, and licked her maw. "Yup, only four more, find them all without help and you pass." she informed Lilacpaw. "Easy, no?"

Crestfallen was at peace here, the wind, cooler than the warm air, tugging back her fur gently. Looking at the clouds, she sighed and stretched. Soon Lilacpaw will become a warrior and I will be able to relax more. she thought. Even though the thought seemed positive, she was actually quite disappointed.

Seeing a red berry in her apprentice's jaws, she felt some sort of panic. "Lilacpaw, that's not a juniper berry." She told her apprentice. "You were so close though." She mewed. Instead, that berry looked like a deathberry. Red and juicy and already making her apprentice's teeth a bit red. But looking closer, she realized it was just a raspberry. "That's a raspberry."

Crestfallen nodded. "A certain dark red, yes, but I made sure they were all blue." She told Lilacpaw. "But, I am not taking any points off, just look for the other four and I'll call it a deal." She offered, sitting back down and slapping her tail against the dust.

I mean, passing her apprentice a full hundred percent, even though she found the wrong berry was probably cheating. It was cheating. But Crestfallen believed her apprentice would do great things, she could just sorta... feel it. She had the enthusiasm of a loyal warrior, the strength of a strong warrior, the hunting skills of... a warrior. All in all this cat is needed in her clan as a warrior, and nothing less. Besides, she was almost as tall as Crestfallen already.
