  • Hawkpath crouched down, searching for prey. She saw a plump little mouse, a tail-length away. She went forward slowly, and when she was close enough, leaped. It didn't have time to squeak, and she stood up proudly. She wished she had a friend to hunt with, or even an apprentice. She quickly burried the mouse and kept looking.

  • "Great work Hawkpath!" She said quietly, not wanting to scare away any remaning prey. She looked up towards the canopy and saw a bird flutter through the pines. "Too high," she sighed. Suddenly, a shift in the brush catches her attention. She drops down into a rather sloppy crouch, then swiftly corrects herself, lifting her tail, and slowly stalking whatever lied beneath the brush. With the wind blowing from behind, it was hard to tell, and she knew she was running the risk of the prey scenting her before she scented it. With a quick pounce, she exploded into the bushes. A barn owl took a quick look at her, and decided it would probably be better off finding something else to eat, than to fight a cat with claws and teeth. It squaked and sailed into the crisp winter air, leaving behind a freshly killed mouse. She bent down to sniff a possible meal for her Clan. It smelled fresh, perhaps only a few heartbeats old. She sank her teeth into the scruff, and carried it back to Hawkpath. She dug a hole next to the one Hawkpath had made earlier, and burried the mouse. She grinned a lopsided smile at Hawkpath, "How'd I do?"

  • She grinned, "Thanks, :)" and looked around her, staring into space, distracted again.
