Auri stood quietly, almost observantly, on the dewy morning grass, gazing out at the beautiful continuation of the lush, thick forest she was standing in. It really was a pity that most of it was across the Elite border, for the elegant tortie she-cat absolutely loved to hunt in her spare time, and gorgeous forests like that always had the best selection of prey. The tiny section of it on the Elite side of the border would be the closest thing she had, and that still didn't compare to the feeling. Or, at least, what she imagined the feeling to be. That's why she felt she needed to experience it so badly, because she only dreamed it, and dreams always turned out to be the best realities.

She closed her sparkling golden eyes, opening her mouth to sniff the air for any prey animals. It was clean and fresh, with hints of morning dew, various herbs and spices, and- was that a BoneClanner she just smelled? Auri's eyes snapped open in surprise, and she glanced around warily. Whatever kind of feline she just smelled, he or she wasn't from the Elite. That was a fact.

The tortie went completely still and silent, listening cautiously, wondering if the cat had left or not. Then, suddenly, she heard something close- rustling leaves. Someone was definitely there. But who?

  • Imperialregime had just been hunting when he had seen a fat strong rabbit, which was a rare thing in Boneclan so Imperialregime decided to chase after it. But just as he was about to catch it, the rabbit had somehow escaped from under hiss claws and had ran into a bush. Thinking there was a burrow under this bush the tom had gone to investigate, but there wasn't and the rabbit had ran on. Running after it with all his speed, Imperialregime had chased the rabbit into a lush forest, but then it had ran over a border line.

So being sensible Imperialregime had stopped, although it annoyed him he really didn't want to annoy the Elite. Well who did? Anyone who wandered onto their territory was taken prisoner and usually tortured. Well similar things happened to cats who wandered in Boneclan, but he was part of Boneclan so it didn't seem so bad.

Suddenly the black smoke saw a she cat, staring into the lush forest, not wanting to disturb her he crept into a bush, still on the non-Eltie side of the border and watched her. Realising what he was doing he hit himself, why was he watching a she cat? He didn't even like she cats. Well it was too late now to get out of the bush, when he had hit himself she had seen the bush rustle and was now starring at it. Oh no, Imperialregime thought What have I gotten myself into?

The lithe tortie gazed out at the seemingly endless, lush forest ahead of her, her stunning gold gaze focused on the nearest bush. Auri could've sworn that what she heard only moments earlier, the sound of rustling leaves, had been loud, and in the forest, loud meant close. Out of pure curiosity, she began to creep even closer, before suddenly stopping at the first whiff of BoneClan that hit her senses. The Elite she-cat was pretty sure she was now standing squarely on the border line. Either that, or the other cat was even closer to her than she had previously thought.

Auri gulped, her glimmering gaze flickering to the left, probably from a mixture of instinct and caution. There were no bushes there, just more of the tall oak trees and the eerie forest shadows that seemed to lead to nothing. She let out a small sigh of relief before the realization struck her- she hadn't checked the right side.

Shaking subtly from anxiety, she slowly shifted her gaze until it was set on the right. There was a bush, with lots of leaves that could've easily made the rustling sound. That is, if a cat had messed with them.

Knowing what she had to do, the tortie suddenly pounced on the bush, aiming to pin down the tangle of leaves and reveal whoever was inside.

  • Pretending to be surprised Imperialregime leapt up, pushing the she cat of him. The Tom had know she was going to pounce, he had seen it, but it would be embrassing if he had been caught spying on her. So instead of not looking startled or anything he turned around and glared at her "What was that for?" he asked angrily "I had just been chasing a rabbit, so had gone into the bush to see if it was hiding in there, and the next thing I know I'm being jumped on by she cats,"

So the black smoke waited for the she cat to reply, although it was just an act he pretended he was trying to catch a whiff of the rabbits scent. But with no luck, so then Imperialregime just looked at Auri as there was nowhere else to look.

OOC: I forgot, will this be a one night stand or will they be mates?

    ooc.
I'd prefer for this to be a one-night-stand. I'm not sure if Auri's ready for a mate... :P

    ic.
The Elite she-cat yelped out in surprise as the BoneClanner pushed her off, even though she had expected for that to happen. It wasn't like Imperialregime was a stalker or anything like that, at least not that she knew, just a tom who happened to be hunting a little too close to the border. After falling to the grass, she quickly pulled herself back on her lithe paws, mud now streaking her sleek tortie pelt.

Taken aback by the tom's sudden glare, Auri quickly blurted out an apology, "Sorry! It's just, when you're this close to the border, you never know what can be an enemy." She opened her mouth to smell once more, checking for the cat's clan, taking in another whiff of BoneClan. Quickly realizing that she had been too nice, she followed up, her voice smooth yet fierce, "Speaking of enemies, you're from another clan. Technically, you happen to be intruding. Since I'm in a good mood and I don't feel like a fight, I'll let you leave peacefully. For now, anyways." Honestly, the tortie had no idea why she had apologized at first, even though she knew that Imperialregime wasn't from the Elite from the beginning. Maybe she was just too accustomed to saying sorry whenever she made a mistake. But that hadn't been a mistake... or was it? She glanced down at her paws, feeling a pang of awkwardness and regret for what she had just said.

A warm breeze drifted through the treetops, making the oak leaves rustle. The quiet forest noises felt either eerie or awkward, although Auri couldn't put her paw on which one it was. Maybe it was both. Either way, it sounded like it was setting up for something big, like the suspenseful music that led up to a death in a horror movie.

As the she-cat's gold gaze returned to Imperialregime's face, Auri noticed that he had an awkward, almost secretive, expression, almost like he was hiding something. Was he? She couldn't tell. All she knew was that there was more to this tom than meets the eye.

ïƒ øυɾ løṿε'ṡ ïṉṡαṉïτÿ, ώhÿ αɾε ÿøυ ṃÿ сlαɾïτÿ?

  • Realising Auri was right and he had now crossed the Elite border Imperialregime stepped back out of the Elite territory. After the she cat had finished speaking Imperialregime nodded "Ok, I didn't really want a fight as well," A few seconds later he noticed she had been staring at him and he realised that he looked a little secretive, quickly he replaced that expression to a cold stare, with a little bit of thankfullness for not letting them fight.

It was not that the black smoke thought he would lose a fight against Auri, it was the complete opposite. Although the Tom had quite a scrawny body, underneath his thick black fur was muscles. So he didn't think he would win a fight, he knew. He was more worried about if she called more of the Elite, so that the fight was two or three against one.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=white; bordercolor=blue; borderwidth=1px; border-radius: 5px; opacity: 0.30;]

Auri quickly glanced up at the BoneClanner's face, noting that the secretiveness had suddenly been replaced by something cold, almost emotionless. Like he had guessed that she suspected something. Honestly, the sudden change of expression made him drastically more mysterious, and the tortie had always wanted to date a mysterious guy. But from a different group? What was she thinking?

She was about to look away, feeling awkward by staring at him, but his cool gaze must've caught her gold one. The Elite she-cat couldn't help looking into his eyes, although she silently prayed to the spirits that she didn't look like she was attracted to him or that she thought he was handsome, even though it was the truth. Auri just wanted the whole ordeal to be over with.

Embarrassed, the tortie's gold orbs flickered away, her face flushing. Trying to divert the tom's attention away from her awkwardness, Auri tried to begin a conversation, something she'd always been good at, "I never caught your name." She took in a deep breath, before continuing on, "Mine's Auri." She didn't mention that she was a Mortem, for fear of her family discovering what had happened and kicking her out. It wasn't like Imperialregime would tell anyone, but still. Better safe than sorry.

Glancing over into the depths of the forest, only a tiny bit past the border on the BoneClan side, Auri noticed something that put a pang of fear in her heart. Catnip. Was it catnip? She wasn't sure, but it still scared her, because catnip reminded her of what this could turn out to be if she didn't tread carefully.

ïƒ øυɾ løṿε'ṡ ïṉṡαṉïτÿ, ώhÿ αɾε ÿøυ ṃÿ сlαɾïτÿ?

  • Confused about why the she cat would want to make conversations with him the Tom replied "I'm Imperialregime," After he replied he realised why, a few minutes before she had been staring at him oddly as if..... She had been attracted to him. No! he thought I must be wrong. But deep inside him, the black smoke thought he was right, as he was sure the she cat had blushed whilst staring at him.

Well Imperialregime wasn't being entirely honest with himself either, the she cat was a very beautiful she cat. But he couldn't let himself think that, she was from a different group after all, it was not even possible. Realising Auri's gaze had wandered he followed it and saw what he thought was catnip. Looking worried Imperialregime looked away, hoping the she cat didn't want to use it, after all things could end badly.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=white; bordercolor=blue; borderwidth=1px; border-radius: 5px; opacity: 0.30;]

Auri listened to the gentle rustling sounds of the oak leaves and the grass, not sure what she should say in response to the BoneClan tom. Why was this whole ordeal taking so long? Why wouldn't the other cat just say goodbye? The graceful tortie hoped that Imperialregime wasn't getting any ideas, especially not about the catnip, for if he did, the outcome would probably be bad. Even if he actually loved her, it wasn't like cats from two different groups could sustain a relationship whilst still staying loyal to their anti-clans. It didn't work like that.

Disliking the quietness, the Elite cat decided to talk some more, and hopefully have some of the questions on her mind answered. "Why are you still here?" Auri asked quietly, her gold eyes twinkling with curiosity. "Are you a spy or something? Or..." She trailed off, thinking about all of the other possibilities. They gave her a pang of fear, almost like she shouldn't ask them, but she needed answers.

Auri's voice went even softer, almost down to a whisper, when she asked, "Or do you like me?"

'Oh, stupid Auri,' she scolded herself in her head. 'Why would you ask him that?' Either way, she was still dying to find out. Did Imperialregime like her? Or was he just hanging around the border for some other reason? The tortie felt that she couldn't leave until she knew.

ïƒ øυɾ løṿε ïṡ τɾαģεḋÿ, ώhÿ αɾε ÿøυ ṃÿ ɾεṃεḋÿ?
ïƒ øυɾ løṿε'ṡ ïṉṡαṉïτÿ, ώhÿ αɾε ÿøυ ṃÿ сlαɾïτÿ?

  • Shaking his head Imperialregime began to leave and replied "No I do Not like you. Bye then," The black smoke turned round and then wondered why the she cat wasn't leaving. He was so angry because deep down inside him he did like Auri but he would never admit it. So he began to walk past the catnip and made a show of avoiding it.

A few mintutes later he looked around and still the she cat stood at the very edge of the border. Imperialregime shook his head, why wouldn't she leave, that area was brilliant for hunting and he needed some fresh kill to take back to Boneclan. So he stopped and waited for her to leave, but he did it behind a tree so she wouldn't notice.

ooc: He isn't that far away so he could hear if she calls.

ic: Auri felt a bit of satisfaction at watching the BoneClanner pad away, knowing that the spirits were watching over her. This test of her loyalty to the Elite was over. She had passed.

The tortie whipped around, walking out towards the Elite part of the forest, her paws making rustling noises as they hit the grass. She was in a mood to hunt, and she wouldn't let some stranger tell her otherwise. Crouching down, the she-cat opened her mouth to check for any scents.

Mmm... she smelled a rabbit, hopefully a fat, juicy one. Auri crept towards the direction of the scent, not making a sound, hoping to spot the animal with her gold optics. This was going to be great!

Except, suddenly, she stepped on a twig that she hadn't noticed. The rabbit, who wasn't as plump as Auri had hoped, but that didn't matter anymore, jolted out of a leafy bush and into the tangle of trees that was the forest. Just great.

The lithe tortie got back up on her paws, shaking dirt and dust from the ground out of her pelt. Feeling disappointed, Auri decided to go straight back to the Elite camp, angry at herself for what had happened with Imperialregime and for having to return empty-pawed. As she walked towards the exit, the tortie suddenly felt one of her paws drop lower than it should have: she had stepped into a hole. She had twisted the paw, not bad enough to swell, but still enough that it hurt like crap to walk.

Her eyes misty from the pain, Auri called out, "Help! Anyone! Please!"

She hoped that someone would hear her call. Even Imperialregime would be better than getting stuck out here alone.

  • Just as Imperialregime was going to go back over to the border to hunt he heard the sound of Auri calling out for help. Although he knew that he probably shouldn't see her again, he couldn't leave her injured and alone. Deciding to do the right thing he started to run in the direction of the she cats voice.

Worried about what could have happened to her the black smoke was getting closer to her. Then he saw what looked like the tail of a cat from behind a tree. Quickly he ran over, seeing her trying to walk the Tom realised she must have twisted her ankle. So he walked up beside her and asked "Anything I can do to help?"

A glimmer of hope shone in Auri's gold eyes, as she saw the black smoke's tail quiver from the other side of the giant pine tree. Even though she hadn't known the BoneClanner for long, she still recognized the tail on sight. Why was that? 'Auri, what's up with you today? Why are you freaking out about this guy?' she asked herself in her thoughts, biting her lip. 'He's a BoneClanner, and honestly, he doesn't like you anyways.' The tortie, however, couldn't help but fantasize what it would be like if Imperialregime was a member of the Elite.

The tom's question snapped her out of her daydreams. "Umm... If you could help me get up, I think I could walk it off. Right now, I'm just stuck here," the Elite cat sighed, scratching at the ground with one of her healthy paws, bored. Anything to get her mind of the pain was perfectly fine.

Auri gazed up at Imperialregime, looking into his eyes. He had pretty eyes, although the she-cat didn't know why she was thinking of that. Did she really, truly like him? Was this what a crush felt like?

  • Nodding Imperialregime began to help Auri stand. He let her lean on him then tried to help bring her foot out from where it was stuck. The black smoke wondered how the she cat had become stuck in the first place, but guessed he didn't need to know. She had probably just tripped and got caught.

Suddenly he noticed Auri staring at him in an odd way, kind of as if she like him. When he looked at her he noticed she was mostly staring into his blueish green eyes. Curious looking back at Auri, wondering if she liked him he asked "Why are you staring at me like that?" Then the Tom wondered if the she cat really like him or if he was wrong. Well she probably didn't like him they were from different anti-clans. If he looked deep down inside himself he guessed he kind of like her.

A tiny, involuntary smile flickered on Auri's lips as the tom helped her up. Although she tried to wipe it from her face, it wouldn't go away. Why wouldn't it? It wasn't like she actually loved this cat, or did she? Honestly, the Elite cat couldn't even tell the difference between attraction and imagination anymore.

Although, being honest with herself, she did think Imperialregime was rather handsome. And it was noble how he came to Auri's aid, even though they were in different groups and he could've been punished for crossing the border. The tortie had always daydreamed about meeting a tom who was truly brave, and would risk his safety for hers'. There wasn't much of that in the Elite.

Was it her destiny to fall in love with a cat from another group? If so, was she supposed to become mates with him, or just let him pass by? Oh, why couldn't life be easy for once?

Imperialregime's voice knocked her out of her thoughts once more. Realizing that she had been staring at him, Auri blushed, stammering, "Umm... umm..."

Why was a BoneClanner making her, a talkative, respected she-cat, at a loss for words? Was it a little crush, caused from lack of romance, or true love? But was true love this easy?

And, of course, the biggest question of them all: did Imperialregime like her back?

Although he had become almost positive that the she cat liked him and deep down inside he did too. A small smile crept from his lips, but he quickly wiped it from his mouth as if it had never been there.

Hoping that if they were both in love, Auri would tell him first because otherwise he would become to embarrassed and Imperialregime didn't want that. Realising he was done helping Auri he turned to leave.

Struggling to stand up on her own due to her sprained ankle, Auri noticed that Imperialregime was turning around... to leave? Not sure whether to ask him to stay or to let him go, the she-cat suddenly called out, "Wait!" She sounded desperate, but in reality, she was. How could she just let her first crush walk straight out of her life without a fight?

Stumbling over to the BoneClanner, assuming that he had stopped, the Elite cat blurted out, "I love you, I love you." Auri's face was flushing, and she couldn't help but feel a pang of embarrassment. Did she really just say that out loud? To a cat from another group, nonetheless? The tortie felt stupid, and she couldn't help but wish that the tom felt the same way. Otherwise, she'd be in some deep trouble.

Looking up into his eyes, as he was taller, the she-cat quietly asked, "Do you feel the same way?" A little smile flickered on her lips once more, like she knew what Imperialregime was going to say.

Around them, the oak leaves rustled quietly, and the orange light of the setting sun illuminated the trees. It was a nice backdrop for romance, although, given, it was a little cliché. Auri didn't mind that, though. She liked the silence and the beautiful, colorful sky.

A soft breeze ruffled the black smokes fur and he noticed how romantic everything was. Blushing he walked closer to the she cat and smiled at her. Then he walked closer and the toms soft pelt brushed against the she cats also silkily pelt.

    ooc: Fade out?

ic: Auri felt her face get warm from embarrassment for a second, almost like she was too scared to continue, before it faded away. One could assume it looked like she was regretting her decision for a moment, before realizing how perfect it felt, and how the moment was flawlessly timed.

Perfect, or perfection. Maybe even flawless, if you'd go that far. No other words would describe it as accurately as it deserved. Good wasn't nearly enough, neither was great. No, it just had to be perfect. Only perfection would be able to equal the happiness she felt right then.

The Elite cat was scared, for the future and for her reputation, but it was good fear. At least, at the moment. After all, how could she face her anti-clanmates after they discovered what she'd done?

Bitterly, Auri came to the conclusion that no one could know.

At this moment, Auri was at a loss for words, but that didn't matter. The tortie didn't feel that speech was necessary, just actions. After all, actions were what defined a cat.

The romantic aura of the moment was what made it absolutely flawless. The warm, gentle breeze rustled both of their pelts, and the forest seemed to sing a sweet melody. Normally, Auri would've closed her eyes and enjoyed her surroundings, but she didn't dare. She didn't want to look anywhere but into Imperialregime's eyes.
