Dovepaw smiled as the kits got apprenticed, she couldn't wait until she was a warrior
-
Spottedkit purred "I do"
-
"Then from this moment on until you have received your warrior name, you shall be known as Spottedpaw," he said. He looked over to Ravenstirke. "Ravenstrike, you shall be mentor to Spottedpaw. She shall be your first apprentice, but I am sure that you will teach her all there is to know about being a warrior." He turned to Dragonpaw and Phoenixpaw and smiled. "We also have two apprentices here that are ready to receive their warrior names. Phoenixpaw and Dragonpaw have proven themselves worthy not only through their loyalty to their clan, but also through the determination and courage that they have shown me in these past moons of their apprenticeships. Icestream, you taught Dragonpaw all he knows and now he has received his new name. From this moment on, until StarClan has taken you back to the stars, you shall be known as Dragonfire." He smiled and licked his nephew behind the ear. "Congratulations," he whispered to him.
-
Dovepaw looked at the ground and grumbled "When am I going to be a warrior?" She thought to herself
-
Dragonfire smiled and rested his head on his uncle's shoulder.
-
Spottedpaw padded over to her mentor and sat down beside him. Her eyes sparkling and her coat groomed neatly.
-
He turned to Phoenixpaw next. "I am proud to have been your mentor, Phoenixpaw. You not only learned how to fight and hunt from me, but you also taught me some of your own special techniques. You and Dragonfire are invaluable warriors that can never be replaced. And now, from this moment on, until StarClan has taken you back to the stars, you shall be known as Phoenixblaze." He smiled and licked his nephew behind the ear as he had for Dragonfire. "Congratulations," he whispered to him.
Phoenixblaze smiled and rested his head on his uncle's shoulder as Dragofire had done. "And you are the greatest uncle and mentor any cat could ever have," he replied just as quietly. He smiled at Lunastar and dipped his head in respect.
Lunastar leaped back onto the Gathering Rock. "And now, let us welcome our newest apprentices and warriors; Stonepaw, Spottedpaw, Dragonfire, and Phoenixblaze!" he shouted. -
Dragonfire smiled as his clan cheered his name.
-
Spottedpaw blushed. She liked having her name yowling about the camp. Looking at her mentor she meowed "When do we start training?"
-
Stonepaw smiled and sat up taller than before with Ravenbeast. He felt as though the world revolved around him at the moment.
"As is tradition, our new warriors, Phoenixblaze and Dragonfire, will sit vigil for us tonight. You will be reprieved of this in the morning," he shouted above the clan's yowling.
Phoenixblaze felt his heart drop as he was reminded of the cold vigil it would be that night. "May as well get something to eat before then, right Dragonfire?" he asked his brother. -
Ravensrike was exploding with happiness inside, but forced himself to keep it in. Turning to Spottedpaw, he answered, "As soon as you want to." He smiled widely at the new apprentice.
-
Dovepaw listened and waited for them to be dismissed
-
Lunastar flicked his tail, dismissing the clan. He padded over to Phoenixblaze and Dragonfire to give them their last congratulations. "Don't forget about your vigil. I'm sure you both know how it works, yes? You must remain awake the entire night in silence and then you will be reprieved during the morning when another warrior or I comes and tells you," he said.
Phoenixblaze nodded. "Understood," he replied. He smiled at Lunastar and said, "And don't worry. We'll be sure to alert the camp if there are any rogues or loners out there." He laughed and beckoned for Dragonfire towards the fresh-kill pile. He grabbed a vole and looked at his brother. "Is this enough for the both of us?" he asked.
Stonepaw looked at Ravenbeast. "Will we be training tonight, or tomorrow?" -
"I don't mind" she meowed almost rushing to her paws.
-
He didn't quite understand her reply, so instead he asked, "When do you feel like starting?"
-
That was a stupid answer she thought. "Tonight?" she asked sounding more calm.
-
"That works," he said, walking to the fresh kill pile and grabbing some prey.
-
Spottedpaw followed and grabbed a plump mouse from the pile. She purred when she realized she wouldn't have to be in the nursery anymore.
-
As Ravenstrike was finishing up his own prey, he asked the now apprentice, "So, what do you want to learn tonight? Forepaw strike, dodging? Anything in particular?"
