It was a fine day, that was for sure. It was slightly overcast and the wind was blowing a cool breeze, but it honestly seemed like nothing was able to dampen this tomcat's mood. Not even the fact that he was breaking the rule that stated he was supposed to be inside with the other kits (to be entirely honest, Hinterkit here had actually forgotten)! One thing had led to another after placing around on the hotel patio and eventually he had followed a lonely grasshopper that hopped on off into the distance. He was now racing across the grainy, cream-colored sand without a care in the world, taking in a deep breath of the saltiness that lingered about in the fresh sea air. A scarf was clutched protectively between his teeth, dragging along sand as it to brushed against the ocean shore. No matter - Hinterkit was pretty carefree when it came to cleanliness and would wash that excess sand of later.
Hinterkit slowed down to a trot as he realized that he had strayed much to far away from camp. The beach slowly changed from sandy dunes and sea sand to an evergreen forest that meant the DarkClan border was near. The fiery red tabby, however, did not know this and was actually in a minor state of confusion. He had never received apprentice training and was a bit naive, to say the least. But Hinterkit simply stuck with his blanket, lingering around and shifting his weight from foot to foot. Ah well, might as well do something useful. An imaginary lightbulb flashed through the tomcat's mind and soon enough he trotted off into oblivion, much closer to the DarkClan border than intended.
Hinterkit's scuttled after a small lizard that climbed over a couple pebbles with it's suction cup-like feet, giggling in a sweet little tone that added to his intent innocence. He was completely oblivious to what was going on around him; all that the tabby thought was that there was just him and that lizard playing a game of cat and mouse.
