    Since the original four clans are so large, would a single character be allowed to take on two or three apprentices at once?

    Some clans do allow cats to have more than one apprentice, yes. I'd recommend asking the roleplayer of the leader of the clan to see if a cat having two apprentices might be possible, since different clans might have different policies.
